I think so. There has been so many times I've faced someone hiding something like Witch's cauldron behind taunt after taunt after taunt, coupled with tiny rush minions, and you have no answer other than to kill their taunt minions first, giving them 5,10, hell even 15 free cards.
I understand that they wanted to tone down the spell usage, but imo it's a little bit too much.
Nah, there's not. There's an argument for not enough non-random spells - a lot of the spells are being generated by stuff like the 4 mana 3/3 get a potion, for example - but I've seen multiple AEs from multiple opponents in my first run, which ended 1-3 after Y'sharrj, khadgar into the 2-six-drops spell, something vaguely fair, then a mage evolving into Antonidas.
Number of spells is NOT the issue, by a long shot. i'm seeing other reports of legendaries everywhere (faced down 4 in 4 games, two of which were generated midgame), and of constructed level decks. If it wasn't better dust/gold at practically every level, I'd be buying packs.

It... varies.
Sometimes it's good to go for less spells, like if you have a mage with 2x Book of Specters.
It is good that there is less spells, even tho they have +100% occurrence rate lol.
