So, I've played Arena about 6 times and of that only 1 run went to 7, the rest all ended with less than 4 wins.
I've played mostly Mage, Rogue and Paladin (and combos of that recently of course).
I'm starting to think, despite seeing statements to the contrary, that Druid would be good. I'm thinking Druid because that should give the best chance for getting Taunt minions and I've come to the conclusion that it's all about Taunt minions in Arena right now.
I also think I'm better off just maxing out on minions and taking very few non-minion cards.
The one card that has seemed to do the best for me though has been the Lab Recruiter. I won a few games where I was able to copy some good minions, in one case a big Legendary. But still, seems like the most consistent ting is just being able to lay down taunts.
Yeah, I usually try to really load up on 1, 2 and 3 cost minions. My typical deck is something like a single minion with a cost of 8 or more, a handful of 5-7 cost cards, like maybe 4 or 5 such cards, and the rest all with a cost of 4 or less.
I had the worst opening ever a few games back, where I thought I had the best opening ever, but then it was wiped. I was rogue and had something like Coin and Microtech controller on turn 2 and I had 2 Shadow Steps and SI:7 Agent and Cold Blood. I thought I was set, but then he cast Spiritlash, so I didn't have way to combo on my next turn, so I dropped the SI:7 Agent anyway and he got wiped and I pulled into an Elvin Minstrel but again had no way to combo him :p I thought for sure that dropping 3 minions on turn 2 against Priest was a safe play lol.
Watch some good arena streamers such as Hafu, Kripp and ADWCTA.
This. Kripparrian for example almost daily posts a video about arena on youtube and he has very indepth info about it.
I would also suggest you downloading HeartArena app to your pc. Basically helps you pick good cards. Kripparrian also uses it and is a sponsor for them
Use Heartharena, it's a tool that helps you during your draft. It doesn't always pick the best option, but for someone new to arena it will always be a great help. It's also great for pointing out synergies that you might overlook.
I'd also like to mention that you shouldn't ignore non-minion cards. Spells and weapons are quite scarce in arena, so people will often not play around them. They can also be a great way to recover if you're losing, which is something most minions can't do.

Am I missing something?
It's currently curvestone, where just having a lot to do in the early turns will steamroll your opponents.
You will often lose skipping turns 1 and 2 now.
Losing the opening turns will often lead you to having too low a life total once you manage to wrestle control of the board back.

Me? Gongaga.
MCT is a very good card in Arena, avoid playing into it.

Lol, just lost a match to a guy that played 3 Funglemancers in a row back to back. Sigh, but doing better. I think going taunt heavy helps.
You are doing it wrong OP
First check the Tier list of Arena Classes , Then check the Tier list of Arena Cards .
You will be surprised how helpful is that .
Look for the tempo build with Many 3 mana cards and go less as mana cost raise .
You can thank me later
