Umm well yeah Arena needs to be changed back to it's usual self but with more decision making. 4 days ago I drafted a Paladin deck with 3 Consecration and 4Spikeridged Steed
I always arena as the digital version of a blind pack format in other card games, so I don't mind that the drafts are usually made up of your more run of the mill cards.
The changes are terrible - I havent had this many bad runs in a row since I started back when the game went out of beta and that was only because I was a newbie back then.
So maybe it was a bad idea to play such a big number of runs in just next couple of days after the hotfix, when there are still a lot of higher-on-average powerlvl decks? That sounds REALLY stupid.
Well, it might be boring for you, but before the hotfix, decks were of such high quality, that it didnt matter, if you did any small calculated plays, like leaving an obvious 4/1 for mage to ping it, so (s)he wouldnt play a 6-drop on T6, but 4-drop at best or suffer the trade from the 4/1 and so on. With decks of such high quality, decisions like these, that accumulate tempo over several turns would not matter, cause there would be too many high quality cards that would just took all that lost tempo back with one card.
Arena is supposed to be played with subpar mediocre decks and it is supposed to be a curvestone, to an extent. Obviously just playin 1-2-3-4 should not auto-guarantee a win, but that was (almost) never a thing on its own. Nowdays there r plenty of random elements, be it cards that generate other cards etc., that there is plenty of chance to recover from a bad situation. And that is ok.
What is not ok, is to play like a mindless drone and be carried by the sheer quality of your cards. Im all for arena being accessible to a larger portion of ppl, but not by dumbing it down by givin everyone so many good cards, that when they make mistakes, it doesnt even matter.
I totally get that drafting an insane deck can be "fun", but things like that should be a part of those 2-week events where we get some special rules, im all for that, but this situation is not that, this is not some short event, this is supposed to be a new way to draft decks and that has an immense implications on the entire arena environment, so yeah, this shit needs to get done right.
I would say deck quality on average is better than pre-10.4 with the hotfix. If you check HSreplay stats the major swing cards are basically in most decks.

Yeah, the deck quality is still a lot better than pre-10.4, but notably lower with the hotfix than post-10.4. Not gonna say its an ideal situation yet, cause its not, but at least its a step in a right direction.

Yup that's enough ladder Arena for me.
Yup my Arena experience is a bit better atm but I still think the decks are too powerful. Oh btw this run ended as 12-2. The next run I made with pala after the hotfix I got 2 Steeds, Kings, Truesilver, Vinecleaver lmao BUT my legendaries were Hemet and Moroes so good thing the legendaries are fixed. I still went 12-2 with it tho.
Yesterday did a few runs and they were mediocre decks nothing special, went 5/3 and 7/3. It was more fun imo.
I was winning with priest against a noob hunter but he draws that new card only in arena one and wins the game. SO WHAT IS THE POINT OF REMOVING DK IN ARENA AND ADDING NEW OP GAME CHANGING CARDS?

I mean the Arena Exclusive cards r just another "event" to make arena "more interesting", they will be gone with the release of The Witchwood i believe.
Its kinda unfortunate that they added them now, when such big changes in the drafting system were introduced, but Blizzard kinda fucked up with those cards from the beginning, taking so long to implement them and all that. Guess they just said F-it and added them now to just get it over with or something :)
I love this new arena. I found the pre-hotfix arena fun but for a longtime arena player. It definitely wasn't the same. I think the bump was still pretty good (it feels better than pre-patch). But its just not 4+ legendary insane anymore. very rarely would I see more than 1 or so Spikeridged Steed in pre-10.4, and I just drafted a deck with 3 of them after the hotfix.
So far had an 11, 10, 8 and 5 win arena runs since the hotfix. Got my 3rd loss in my 11 win deck because the priest definitely had a pre-hotfix deck and couldn't compete with all the board clears...
Now instead of "Choose the best card from the three" which was usually really easy, you have to choose the card that will synergize best with your deck. Excellent changes overall. Sure, you have a chance of getting a bad deck, but everyone else has that chance too, and you can mitigate that chance by practicing.
Back to usual , no insane draft which meaning boring if u get shitty draft .
Arena suppose to be boring, isnt it. You can play your cubelock in standard

The updated changes are better for stronger players.
Stretching bad cards is a lot harder then mindlessly playing cards that are obviously too strong for Arena.

I'm so mad right now - they screwed up arena - never have I had this many terrible runs in a row!
