With the release of K&C tomorrow i saved some Gold (currently 4800) mostly for packs but also some for Arena since it´s a great way to have fun with Hearthstone if ur sick of the Ladder grind. Now because one of my friends with whom i play Hearthstone very active i was thinking about spending ALL the Gold i have for only Arena to sustain on Gold, getting little bit dust, maybe even a Legendary and ofc the Packs. What do u guys think about it? I know that many get much more outcome with Arena runs and sustain the Gold for extra runs pretty easily so i would try it too. I preorded the expansion and will buy as much more packs as i need to make the Decks i want to play. What do u guys think? would be 4800-4900 Gold enough for atleast 1-2 months of 1-3 Arena runs daily?
I have no idea about this topic because before i just played Arena if i wanted to and had the 150 Gold, so i never really had a good overview if i made more gold than i spend. I´m quite expierienced in Hearthstone and my avg. Arena run is about 5-6 wins...
Thanks to everyone who can give me feedback with this topic.
Almost 5000 gold will last forever. If you average 5-6 wins in arena, some of your runs will go on much longer than that and if you intened to play as much arena as you are starting you will quickly learn it to and become really good at it. I would say buy 30 packs and keep the rest for arena. But thats just me.
I typically spend the first 6 weeks of an expansion playing Arena. This way, I get a good array of cards, have lots of fun, learn about the cards... And don't commit dust to a deck or three until the meta stabilises a bit.
5-6 average means you will end up paying about 20-50g per Arena run. 5,000g would pay for about 100 runs, but then if you earn 50g per day, you'll get more over time.
Glad to hear that it will be enough. I´m finally really hyped for arena since the DK´s got removed from the draft, i got out of about 20 runs 1-2 times a DK while everyone at 4+ wins got one... was really frustrating losing to insane decks at so low wins, that´s why i didn´t played arena often. After DK´s got removed i got always 7+ wins with my 5 last runs, one of them was 11-0 before it ended with 11-3.
6 average gets you almost infinite, because rewards aren't progressing linear - for 12 wins you can get around 500 gold, while for 0 you get some dust. You got 6 on average on those two runs, but you actually won 200+ gold. Plus got packs for free. So 5k gold should keep you infinite.
My average is above 6 normally. So I'm keeping my gold above 1k just in case. And spending all other on packs, if I need dust or cards. Got pre-order, 6k gold stored and 10k dust. Expansion ready :)
You can probably go infinite of of 5-6 wins, assuming that you get a mixture of higher wins (10-12) and not only 5/6 wins. You don't lose too much gold going lower wins, compared to 5-6, but you gain alot in your higher runs. With daily quests and the amount of gold your starting with, you'll easily go infinite and I'd expect you'd make more gold (not even including all the free packs) by the next expansion.
I think if u want to play 1-3 arenas a day and if u go at least 3+ wins on average, 2500-3000 gold should be fine for a month or two, so u can buy 15-20 packs to get u started and while ur spending rest on the arena u will get some gold from daily quests and ranked wins and before that 2500g u have stashed away for arena would run out, with all that and the gold u get from winnings should sustain u for at least several months.
Tho that being said, with the new change to card's draft rate appearance bonuses, the meta might be a bit unpredictable right from the start, so as much fun as it will be to figure it out, it could be a bit costlier than to play in an established meta, where u "know" how to draft. So, keep that in mind ;-)

Thanks alot! I will then buy 25 packs with Gold and the other 2500 Gold for Arena. Thanks for the advice tho, i will keep it in mind :)
It comes down to how many runs you play per day. If you are netting a loss per every run, you'll eventually exhaust yourself if you are not a hard infinite player (7+ wins every run).
With that said 5000 gold is a good cushion, and if you averaged 5-6 wins per (net loss about ~50 gold per run), you could play 100 arenas straight before you go empty.
However, keep in mind you earn gold daily through quests, so we could factor that in as well as ~50 per day.
Assuming you do 3 runs a day. Loss of 100 gold per day (-50x 3 runs, +50 from quest). That's 3 packs a day for 100 gold.
You will last 50 days at this schedule until your 5000 gold is exhausted. Net result will be 150 packs (and goodies) for 5000 gold + 2500 quest gold (varied since 80g quest and free pack quests exist). Which translates into a 50% discount on packs.
if you find you need more cards id even say 2000 gold is enough for infinite arene if youre good. and you can toss in another 30 packs, which i find to be the best ammount of packs about 70-80 thats when you get all the commons and rares, about 3-4 legends and 12 epics and not too many dupes, at 100+ it feels like youre spending money on 40 dust packs
6-7 wins average = infinite arena (7 is guaranteed 150 gold return), with 5-6 (as mentioned by others above) you are close to "the infinite" as you will get back ~100 gold per run so you will be paying roughly ~50 gold per pack. That being said just go for it, as it is indeed lot different from "same decks" meta on ranked which gets boring for some players really fast (like me). I may divert a bit from topic by saying this, but don't get frustrated when opponent pulls a topdeck or has a gamechanging answer, just laugh it off and move on. As an experienced arena player I'll just say if you're having fun in arena = do it, if you think you're getting way too frustrated by "bad drafts" and "op opponents decks", just stay away from arena for a week or so then get back to it. Playing it while being frustrated can only lead to loss of gold and it can affect your health.
Now all that's left is to await for those new cards and arena only stuff for some awesome fun!

Jeah i will open about 100 Packs on the first day, if i will still miss most cards i want i will buy more so that´s not the big deal. I just want to have a infinite Arena option since i REALLY enjoy playing Arena.
Yeah, it's plenty, but you might decide you're tired of Arena long before it's gone. Either way you win by waiting on packs until you know what you want to do.
If you can wait for the packs, I'd just save the gold for Arena. Since you'll be playing Arena all the time, you don't need cards anyways. :)
Jeah my plan is actually to get some of the Legendarys and epic within the first 75 packs. If i still miss quite alot i will buy 25 packs with gold, otherwise i´ll safe all the gold for Arena ;)

Don't mind me, just the UK National Champion.
