So I've been waiting all weekend to hit the arena hard tonight, using up my last tickets. The IN-GAME warning was that we had up until midnight. So what do I find instead: "This Arena will end soon. Signup has been disabled."
Blizzard, why can't you seem to make sound decisions more often. They're probably worried about all the people bitching that they started a run tonight and didn't finish. What about all of us that love this arena and wanted one more good night of it. You betray your own warning and end it way early. What are you thinking? Does anybody get together there and discuss pros and cons of decisions???
I now realize this is likely a move against people leaving open unfinished runs to get a free ticket. But man, this is still a slap in the face that runs against their own warning. If so, they shifted their own pain of giving away free runs (gasp!) and put that pain onto the community expecting to have some Arena fun tonight.
Have to give a bit of a break though since Blizzcon weekend is not ideal to have a well-discussed decision. Still super bummed though.
* NOTE: If you have an Arena run in progress when Hallow’s End begins on October 24, then it will be retired and you’ll receive the normal rewards for the number of wins you achieved and a free Arena ticket. In the hours just before the beginning and conclusion of Hallow’s End on October 24 and November 6, it will temporarily be impossible to purchase a new Arena ticket.
As they did prior to the event, they closed new arenas in the final hours leading up to the end of the event. It wasn't as promoted as prior to the event, but it was announced.

Old school WoW Mage motto: if you don't end the run with the most damage dealt AND the most deaths, you're not trying hard enough.
Not being able to play arena I am frozen about what to do instead and disappointed roughly 2 damage, not to mention 2 each for my kids (minions) who had to hear me bitch about it. Seems balanced.

Yes, but no clear number was given ... thats what bothered me about that (and probably these ppl as well). They disabled it like 6 hours before the end ... thats a pretty long time, sure it falls under "hours before the conclusion" statement, but it might have as well been just 1 or 2 hours. No point in qqing about it now, but they could have just said "6 hours before the conclusion" to make things clear, they purposely decided not to :)
It's actually really weird they write one thing and do another. It's like they can't be trusted.
Next time you read "Tavern Brawl ends in 14 hours" you should not trust it because it could mean "Ends in 1 hour" because we have learned their in-game clock is lying to us.

Well, technically, the in-game clock didnt lie ... but it was confusing as to what it counts down to, if you didnt have the extra information. It was counting down to when the event ends ... but the extra information was that "hours before the end", you will no longer be able to purchase the arena entry.
They dont provide falls information, they just provide information in a kinda confusing way. Thats the part they should improve upon, to provide more precise information, so we r well informed and can act accordingly.

Well they did say the Hallow's End Arena would end in '6' hours which must mean 6 hours.
If I tell you the store is closing in 3 hours, do you run for the door because you only have 2 more minutes to get through the door?
If I tell you the football game ends in 30 minutes do you Hail Mary because you only have 10 seconds left to play?
If I tell you Arena will end in 6 hours do you hurry up and buy a new Arena run because you only have 10 seconds left to buy one?
