That's pretty much how the classes are grouped up based on their statistical arena winrates. Hunters have a significant gap ahead of the rest.
Potion of heroism is a nasty, nasty combat trick, too - absurdly strong. I'd rank Pally T1 or T2. Hunters... everyone else is doing well, spellstone is good, but I'm not feeling them, myself. Maybe it's issues adapting to the new meta :)
Well this isn't my opinion so much as the actual statistical winrates over the last few days in arena. Of course you may find different classes play better for you, etc.
Had a couple of hunter runs, its not that hard to play a fully upgraded spellstone on turn 5. If you manage to play a cloacked huntress its not unlikely you have the board by turn 5. Very hard to come back for your opponent.
My 12 win hunter run i lost twice to a hunter that coined out a huntress on turn 2.
I suspect hunter is not going anywhere soon, it generates immense tempo the first 5 turns, hard to keep up with.
Ah, cool - where're you pulling the data from? Not questioning it, just handy to know the source :) I know everyone else is doing well with Hunter, so it's just me having issues adapting! How much will this drop, though, when people start playing around Crushing Walls more, do you think? Had a few games the other day where it was a dead card in the opp's hand for the crucial turns (though I then played right into it when the pressure came off :P). Maybe paladin feels super strong because you either end up with super-strong decks or you get facerolled, and you'll tend to see the good decks that opponents have? Much like mage has been for the last expansion, tbh.
I don't think Crushing Walls is the power card, I think Candleshot, Flanking Strike and the Spellstone are the big three that have pushed Hunter up to Tier 1 status. Stats are all from https://hsreplay.net/
Hi all. I would like to know something, before the new expansion I've done are usually 6 to 12 wins in the arena. After came the Kobolds I'm doing 2-5 max. Was anyone the same? I just don't understand what's wrong. While the draft always use HearthArena.
OK; so now that I've done more Arenas; I'll quickly say what I've seen and experienced with every class.
Druid - I have literally not seen any Druids in Arena since C+C besides the one I played. I had a good Druid run yesterday myself; which went 7-3. The losses were because I was a Big Druid; and 2 of them I just got Faced down; and the third was a Rouge who played 3 different Poisonous minions; Sap; Onyx; and Assassinate in the first half of their deck, so was basically made to be Anti-Big Druid. Also this Druid deck had no ramp; no AoE buffs and no Swipes; things that usually define Druid. It was just... top-heavy Druid.
Hunter - I have been seeing a surprising amount of Hunters [22%]. A lot of them are using quite a few secrets and their Spellstone; but this is pretty inconsistent in Arena. I have also beaten almost every Hunter I've faced, the only losses being with Rouge [Who in general has a pretty bad Hunter matchup and I can never seem to get even a passable draft for] and Druid [Which was a slow deck which got SMOrc'ed].
I played Hunter and went 6-3; although most of my losses were me topdecking too many of my weapons [I had 4 in the deck]; so simply not being able to keep up board presence. Also I had no Houndmasters; and lost in a HuntervHunter topdeck war because the other Hunter went Call of the Wild -> Highmane.
Mage - Has the offering rate for Mage gone down? Because I'm only seeing Mages 11% of the time; and I've only got to play as Mage once before I remembered to track my stats. Said Mage was an 8-3 run however; my equal best so far in C+C. Mage is still very powerful. As long as they have such powerful removal and burn options combined; and such high-quality commons; they will be powerful.
Paladin - I have also hardly seen any Paladins. I've been against them in 8% of my games; with a 2/3 winrate against them. None of the Paladin decks I faced I could call particularly good either [The Paladin deck that beat me was the ill-fated Rouge draft I had]. That said; I did have a Paladin draft which went 8-3. This was a pretty aggressive Paladin deck. Priests were the majority of my losses on this run; usually because they would copy the exact card they needed from my deck; such as my 1 copy of Consecration. That said; this deck also beat Priests.
Unidentified Maul is a really good Arena card by the way. Especially when a Paladin deck that already leans aggressively. How aggressive was this Pally? It faced 2 Hunters. One conceded Turn 5. The other got Turn 7 Leathal'ed. Face is indeed the place.
Priest - I'm seeing Priests everywhere and they are the majority of my losses. That said; the majority of the time; it's not really because of the Priest's down deck. Sometimes it's this insane Priest deck that fairly shuts off my Hunter/Paladin deck with just infinite healing. But most of the time it's a case of 'Lol I Devour Minded your best cards'.
I think what makes Priest so strong right now is actually the amount of card advantage they can accrue... from your deck. Between cards like Shifting Shade; Crystalline Oracle; Thoughtsteal and Devour Mind... Priests just don't run out of cards, and seem to keep getting your best ones. Most of my Priest losses have left me feeling cheated. Not even Mages usually make me feel like that. There's also the fact that Free from Amber is just stupid.
I haven't actually got around to trying Priest myself in C+C.
Rogue - Whenever I draft Rouge; I get literal hot garbage and never draw the thing I need; as in; 0-3 is the most common result on Rogue for me and I actively avoid drafting it. Whenever I face a Rogue; they seem tailor-made to beat my deck. [See: The Druid loss to Rogue]. They also have a bit of Priest syndrome where their random cards from your class will be exactly what they need. Rogue is certainly weaker now however. C+C diluted their card pool quite a bit. Particularly with the Secrets.
Shaman - Seems to be in a bad spot. I had what I thought was a powerful Shaman deck [2 4 mana 7/7's. A decent chunk of Jade; some removal; Prince Malchezarr] and I only went 5-3. Another Shaman deck which I was significantly less confident in went 1-3. In addition; I've not lost to a Shaman yet either.
Warlock - I haven't drafted a Warlock yet; but I'm seeing them everywhere. The reason for this is beyond me. Warlock is my 3rd most commonly encountered class [Just behind Priests and Hunters] and yet I have only lost to Warlocks twice; both with decks that didn't even manage 2 wins. Is it because the Warlock players are bad? Or is it because Arena Warlock is still bad? I won't know until I draft a Warlock... but Warlock has always been my 2nd lowest rank to draft... so I'd have to pick Warlock over a class I think is stronger.
Warrior - Extinct. I encountered 1; and steamrolled it.
IMO:
Priest/Mage/Paladin [Priest may be top] > Rogue/Druid/Hunter > Warlock > Shaman > Warrior
Warrior - Extinct. I encountered 1; and steamrolled it.
Wow, that's rude to warriors everywhere. Anyway, I played as warrior yesterday and here's my verdict on newer warrior cards:
Lesser Mithril Spellstone - Turns out not very hard to upgrade, and while upgrading it twice is possible, upgrading it once is good enough. Also, equipping Weapon as result of ability (like N'zoth's First Mate) also counts for the upgrade, so it's feels nice.
Unidentified Shield - With 50% chance to get "Deal 5 damage", it's pretty decent to take down critical target mid-late game.
Drywhisker Armorer and Reckless Flurry - I did get this combo but spending two cards and 5 mana to clear the board seemed underwhelming. I didn't really notice my Armor level during games so I don't know yet whether Fury is good or not without instant armor cards.
I was doing dungeon runs so I only played a few arenas but yeah, my average went down to 5ish from 6ish... Thats mainly because I tried to test everything though, so its still fine. Had 2 rogue runs (3 wins average) and rogue felt week. Played against them 12 times, only lost once...
So far my best is paladin (3 runs, 6.67 wins). The divine shield+card draw thing is awesome and the new weapon with mass divine shield is just game winning.
Played against warlocks 13 times and only won twice!!! Doing my very first lock run now, its at 6-1.
For me it seems that warlock and paladin are the best, priest and mage after them, hunter and druid very close to them and the rest is... well, just dont speak about them. :)
Indeed, I see a lot of hunters, especially on high wins. That said, I personally think priest is stronger - I keep losing against them, and my priest decks are, if drafted well, better than my hunter decks...
For example, I drafted a warlock deck. It was a ridiculous aggro deck with 3 Homunculus, 2 Felfire Potions, a hellfire, an imp, a doomguard and other tools which rushed the opponent to death. I went 9-3, and all losses were against priest. To be more precise, I didn't won against a single priest I faced :D
That said, hunter is my second highest loss rage, tied with mage. Guess it really depends on the type of deck you play. Control fears Hunter, while aggro fears priest

Lesser Mithril Spellstone: yeah, i totally agree, if u get a weapon or two and N'Zoth's First Mate or Arathi Weaponsmith, its usually relatively easy to upgarde the spellstone at least once and playing two 5/5 for 7 mana is a pretty amazing tempo turn. I did one warrior run and spellstone performed very well.
Unidentified Shield: this card is very solid in most cases, worst being obviously the 15 armor, since it doesnt rly do anything for you to take over the board, but if your deck doesnt totally suck, 15 armor is a shit ton of "healing". Other options result in "cards" that r very good for arena standards (Serrated Shield = Holy Fire, Runed Shield = Shieldmaiden, Spiked Shield = Arcanite Reaper + Iron Hide), so that makes this card very good overall as well.
Havent played with Reckless Flurry, but Drywhisker Armorer performed below average at best. It was usually just a 2/2 that gave me 2 armor, so a worse Plated Beetle, but i mean that was to be expected i guess.
so I've just started to check the last Lightforge podcast and they are saying that the offering bonuses are different than what they promised... again...
so yeah, thats why rogue suxx right now and thats why hunter can perform OKish. I guess for an average casual player its fine because they dont know anything about this anyway, but tbh when you expect something and you draft your first 10-15 decks according to what they promised and the whole thing is wrong then it can be a bit annoying. at least I know now that I wasnt just extremely unlucky with my runs. :)
anyway, if/when they change the numbers again, someone will get some nice runs before everyone else will notice it. :/

I think most of your results are based off of incredibly small sample sizes.
I really like Wandering Monster in Arena, it often trades and gives you some sort of body on the board if you play it turn 2 or even 3. More than once I've managed to coin it out when my opponent has played a 1-drop which is a huge tempo boost.
Lost a game on the spot going second against a pally when I got Sewer Crawler as a random 3-drop. Don't know the actual average att/def for 3 mana drops though, off the top I'd say about 2.5/2.7. I think in most cases (except for preventing lethal dmg by a single minion) good old Bear Trap would have performed better.

Maybe I've just high-rolled a lot. I prefer it over Bear Trap because it forces the trade and often still leaves you with a body on the board to use next turn. However Wandering Monster needs to be played in the first few turns to be effective whereas Bear Trap can still be decent later in the game.
I watched the Lightforge podcast yesterday where they were talking about the Wandering Monster as well and after listening to their reasoning, i must agree that this card is pretty much bottom tier on its own.
Also, probably more important fact that makes this card perform a lot better is, that ppl r misplaying into it (myself included couple of times). If your opponent plays a secret on T2 (or coin T1) u just dont attack his face, easy. It will "gain" him some life, sure, but he will lose a card and a tempo by plaing Wandering Monster and u can develop your board in the meantime.
Doing an extra 5-10 dmg to a hunter is probably not gonna mater anyway in the long run, u will not win by smorcing him down, u will win by outvaluing him. So just dont check for the secret and develop the board instead, if hunter plays a secret vs you that early ;-)
Yeah, you can easily "counter" Wandering Monster with attacking with a big enough minion. But let's have good laugh while most people don't try to play around this lol. Played two of them during my last run, I have summoned Silverback Patriarch to Injured Blademaster, good time :)
Tier 2 : Warlock / Priest
Tier 3 : Paladin
Tier 4 : Mage / Druid / Rogue / Shaman
Tier 5 : Warrior
Had a couple of hunter runs, its not that hard to play a fully upgraded spellstone on turn 5. If you manage to play a cloacked huntress its not unlikely you have the board by turn 5. Very hard to come back for your opponent.
My 12 win hunter run i lost twice to a hunter that coined out a huntress on turn 2.
I suspect hunter is not going anywhere soon, it generates immense tempo the first 5 turns, hard to keep up with.

Rogue is definitely in a tough spot right now due to the adjustments and increase frequency of Hunters.
Right now based on hsreplay data the top classes are as follows:
Hunter > Warlock > Priest > Paladin > Rogue = Druid = Mage > Shaman > Warrior
The win rates fluctuate a bit, but this looks like it's going to stabilize.

Holy shit does this expansion suck when you get a legendary choice. I had to choose between Skull of the Man'ari, The Darkness and King Togwaggle. WTF >_> I chose Toggwaggle, and proceeded to drew him 6 TIMES IN A ROW ON MY STARTING HAND. It's fucking ridiculous. The card sucks so bad. My other legendary choice was between Skull of the Man'ari, King Togwaggle and Elise the Trailblazer.
edit: HOLY SHIT SEVEN TIMES. Is this a bizarro episode?! What the actual fuck. Leave me fucking alone King Fuckwaggle. >_<
