It's only allure is due to the fact that it is something new, bright and shiny. If it became permanent, then it would become stale and a lot of people would be very frustrated. So to re-iterate, temporary is good!

I like it, but the arena playerbase is too small to divide it up. I'd rather Blizzard have more 'special' arena weeks like this, preferably at least once a month. And it doesn't have to be dual class. They could have a week where wild cards are included again, or Naxx cards are included, or spell choices are higher-chance, or some random constant effect is always in play, etc.
... One reason it may be small though is because the "old" arena experience is just kind of Meh. I'm decent at arena and can make it "worthwhile" by winning more value then I'm spending in gold, but I just can't play it for more than a certain amount on regular mode. This mode is much more dynamic interesting and complex IMO. I love it.
I'd like to see a special event where we get to choose between 4 or perhaps 5 cards for each pick (rather than just 3). This would reduce the number of Hobson's Choice selections and enable decks to be drafted with greater access to card synergies. More importantly, players would be more able to draft archetypes such as aggro or control where currently 90% are Tempo decks.
Access to more viable picks would also increase the difficulty in card selection and hence make arena more skilful.
Now that might be a special arena event which players would want to see made permanent...

That would be nice, tho im not sure GUI is built for that, there is no space to fit two extra cards in there. I suppose u could like list between them from left to right, but that would provide an issue with misclickin (especially on a phone) and would rise a lot of complaints and blizz doesnt have arena refund policy, so i very much doubt they would even dare go that route, even if it was technically possible.
That being said, im not sure it would make arena more skillful, what it would do is, it would up the deck quality. That doesnt necessarily equals "skillful", u can see it right now for example. Im not saying it wouldnt be interesting or fun to try, but i dont think it would be more skillful :)
Haven't had this kind of fun or success in Arena in a long time. If not permanent, then this or other twists once a quarter or so. The "pros" are really pissing me off with their righteousness about this needing to go away. Guess they want to get back to their precious vacuum where they can pour hours of their lives into dominating people just trying to have fun.

Your are showing about the same attitude right now. Because u like something better means everyone has to like it too? We can all say what we prefer, no need to be condescending about it.
Dual class itself doesn't actually feel all that different. I've rarely seen absurd cross-class combos pulled off, its more about individually powerful cards as usual. Main thing is just keeping in mind what hero power you have.
As already mentioned, reduce the class/rarity bumps and it would feel pretty normal. It also gives me hope that drafting out of boosters in a pod could work with tri-class or the like.
I've loved this new arena, but I am in full agreement with others who have said (1) it would get old fast if it were permanent and (2) we need other variants rotated in and out. There are sooo many alternate rules that could be introduced.

Wow, that's a random mod reply. I'm not complaining about the pros liking Arena the way it was. I'm complaining about the pros bitching about how much they don't like what's different from what they like. It's not the opinions I dislike, it's the bitching and righteousness. So no, I wasn't doing the same thing.
It was soooo fun. 7 matches, 5 opponents with DK's. Started with 4-0 and then the next 3 matches was total bullshit decks with Shadowreaper, Deathstalker, and Jaina.
My deck consisted of 0 legendary and 3 epics... and those options were terrible.
It's really not fun getting shit to draft and then go in to a match where the opponent being Druid/Hunter goes fast early game in to enough ramp to UI on turn 7 and draws Deathstalker.
Though I really didn't really play much arena at all since the standard change, I completely stopped on the introduction on DK heroes and their way of implementing synergy picks. Still thought to give this one a go... still bullshit..

Technically, btichin about bitchin is still considered bitchin :p
Btw who r these "pros" u mentioned? Do u mean streamers or ppl here in discussions?
I definitely wouldn't want it as a permanent option, but won't mind if it comes back once in a while. If it does come back I hope that they either (A) tone down the Legendary and Epic occurrence or (B) start using a set rarity order so that everyone gets the same number of L/E picks. Death Knights were everywhere and the number of Epics played appeared to be very high.
As an occasional treat - it's nice and refreshing but ultimately a bit too much in it's current iteration. If Dk's were removed and class offerings adjusted a bit, this could be a plausible permanent change.
You can make Arena more appealing to the masses in different ways.
Scale rewards better - not necessarily shower people with rewards, but make it so that they aren't wasting their time to break even. As well higher end win totals should really feel rewarding.
10 gold per 3 wins like ranked ? It's about time....
Wins towards golden heros ? ... it's about time....
An option to allow spectators to see your drafting process and your deck list ? ... please ?
These are pretty simple/obvious changes that I think will attract some ranked players to play Arena. One of my concerns about the split mode is that it divides the Arena population which is probably thinning out over the years.
The entrance fee simply might just be too expensive for many casual players. 150 gold to 100 gold with reduced reward scaling could make it more accessible.
Just spit balling, but I think this dual class mode isn't the way to help push the Arena format forward. There are other things that can be done first.
It's fun because it's different, but the RNG-factor is through the roof. There are too many broken cross-class combos, and I find games are now mostly dependent on whether you/opponent has them and draws them. It's worse than arena was before certain offending cards that created the same issues were removed/scaled back.
No, please no. Arena is the worst when a single card wins the game. Obviously, general deck strength is going to vary, that's fine, but when a deck is strong merely by the existence of a card or two, that's when arena sucks. It's no fun to lose to that, and it's pretty empty to win from it as well.
Arena got worse when they went to Standard and upped the epic/legendary rate, which meant OP arena cards would be more prevalent. The dual-class arena is the epitome of this. It unleashes combinations that are broken in constructed, let alone arena, where broken combos should be mainly non-existent.
If they want to bring it back for a week or so a year, fine. But this should not be a supported format. They could just make a tavern brawl where you discover three cards from two classes as you go, instead of drawing a card, like Captain Blackbeard's Treasure.
1. Ban all death knights at the start of the next expansion.
2. Create a rule that you cannot queue into a class you have lost to if you are under 5 wins.
3. Offer a 1,000 gold arena package. You get a 9 run sheet ( 9 individual runs) ; you have to play each class once and classes are crossed out to help you keep track. This represents a 350 gold savings if you did 9 individual runs through the normal discover option.
4. Get rid of the retire option. Someone needs that win instead of Blizzard.
5. Put in wild cards for balance when needed. Have special events like Hallow's End at least once every other month.

I'm having a blast with the current Arena.
Everything is fresh due to card combinations opportunities

Permanent option please. If you don't like it, you don't have to play it. Simple as that!

I've never had more fun playing arena. Love seeing the different mixes of spells and minions.
I gotta say, I thought I'd get sick of it, but there's so much variety.
I'm now trying 'terrible' combinations and even they're fun.
A few ideas for changes to Arena:

Edit: the wording of #3 was confusing.
