You never know what happens at the other end. Could be BM, could be 100 other things, so the only correct answer here is "I don't know" or rather "We can't know".
I will waste your time as much as possible. Every minute of your time that I waste, is a minute that the REST of the Hearthstone playerbase does NOT need to deal with YOUR cancerous bullshit deck. I see it as a service to the playerbase. Keep the pirate warrior busy for 15 mins instead of his average 3, that's 5 games he coulda played against others but is stuck playing ONE game, against ME.
Your reply reminds of me of sans in Genocide Route xD
Start of Year: Provoke the failure of 3 expansions, force nerfs on otherwise balanced cards, bring deckbuilding to an all-time low and get rotated one year earlier for being such a threat to the game's health. - Genn and Baku's historical entry on the White Book of Shit Design, shortly before retiring unpunished
Most of the time, when i rope in ranked, it's when my opponent took too much time for his mulligan (and kept his whole hand for f*** sake), then rope on his first turn to make an obvious play (mana wyrm, n'zoth's second, ... or just pass). There i'm roping for bm, dropping an emote in the last seconds of my turn "Hey there, i'm doing it intentionnaly". If they rope back, well, here start the mind game : who's gonna lose his temper first ? I remember a mage player who roped me back : after 25 min of this dumb game, he suddenly get mad and started to make several missplays. There can be some kind of psychological strategy in roping.
When i rope in casual, it's mostly when i'm playing a weird deck and i encounter some dumbass playing a netdeck.
Sometimes, i'm just watching TV or not focused on the game...
There's plenty of reasons for roping, not necessarily for BM.
I just rope them back. Sends the message that I'm willing to wait all day. Usually stops after turn 2-3.
Facts. The only time log onto this game is when i have time to do whatever I want. I easily just play my turn then watch some anime or read some manga every turn. Sometimes I just keep at it. Just because they realized I obviously dont give a shit, doesnt mean I should start playing normal because they're starting to feel like they are wasting their time. If you make a play(and it's always a lameass netdeck, most often roped by odd warriors right out the gate on turn 1) then LITERALLY rope for a whole minute, you're a complete dumbass and should stick to minesweeper.
Depends, if as result of a high ranked game your opponent or yourself exploit the available time to work out all possible outcomes and counterplays I suppose it’s legit to let it rope off even though you as everyone else are aware of the fact the as per planning turns tactics most already know what the next move will be, especially early game.
On the other hand intentional roping to annoy the player trying to achieve a quit it is very frustrating to deal with as you can clearly notice that the turn gets carried out normally but then they don’t end turn. Sometimes I wondered whether it could be a button bug that impeded them to end their turn somehow, then realised it was some kind of strategy.
Speaking from my personal experience of playing the game, as someone that ends ladder between rank 1-5, I play decks that require thought and strategy and I like to think on future turns and the best counter plays for now and then with the resources I have available and what my opponent did on the last few turns. However long that takes is how long I spend doing it, won’t apologise for using the time that Blizzard gave me.
"Thinking" is done at the start of the turn when you have all available options, NOT after you have already played and can do nothing else. That is one of the stupidest things I'd read on this site and I've seen quite a bit.

THIS NEEDS TO BE A BANNABLE OFFENSE!
No one in their right mind wants to have a game last 5 times as long because the other guy emotes and ropes.
SO MAD NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RAWR!
BTW: It's name was "chris",and I hate this person!
Just noticed this thread was 2 years old... Well thanks a lot for making me look like an idiot Koz26

So that’s your answer.
