Mage, Rogue Paladin in that order IMHO. Paladin only makes this grade due to the new cards but most of the basic Rogue and Mage cards are extremely powerful in arena. Multiple board clears and single target removals make these classes the better options to go for and both have a 1 damage ping with their hero power. Paladin is still very strong but cards like Dinosize and that fucking stegadon buff deathrattle insanity have helped elevate it a lot. That and several weapons also help Paladin stay strong.
Truthfully, you can draft an insane arena with any class but you are getting much better odds of drafting that arena if you pick one of those three heroes.

Please refer to my last arena run for an example of the above.
I've gotten a pretty good grasp of the meta lately, I think I have about 5 12 wins in the past couple weeks.
Though I tend to judge the best by what I see the most, especially when you reach high wins. Mage Rogue and Paladin are definitely the top 3, for some reason I see druid pop up a decent amount of times, even though it's generally considered one of the worst, and I haven't personally done well with them yet. Hunter I rarely see, and almost never have an issue with beating hunter, warrior might be the worst given how little I see them but I can get in a decent run when I pick Warrior, but I don't think a class is good if you are capable of getting 7 wins with a class, it's really the knowing how to get 12 wins with a specific class that makes it good or not.
I might rank it like this:
1 Mage
2 Rogue
3 Paladin
4 Priest
5 Warlock
6 Shaman
7 Druid
8 Hunter
9 Warrior
On a side note, I think Shaman is the most fun class to play as right now.
BTW, I don't understand how blizzard could make Iron Hide a common and include it in arena drafts. Did they learn nothing from the past? They should have just not included it in the drafts like Purify.
I mean, all you really need to know is that Paladin/Mage/Rogue is on top. The rest is basically what you prefer, as long as you don't pick Warrior.
I myself really hate playing reactive classes which is basically Priest and Shaman in this expansion.
I also had not any luck with Hunter yet, no 12 wins despite almost 10 runs now with them and my average with Hunter is pitiful. Like 4 wins with 11 runs lol. Part of the reason I didn't make it on the leaderboard. Now I barely play Hunter unless I'm offered Warrior + Priest or something.
I actually enjoy playing Druid currently because it's barely seen and so people often don't play around cards as they should with other classes. While druid don't have crazy shit like Volcano, Tortallan forager is basically a miniPyros for a common, and the overall influx of beasts do help the class a bit. Druid's primary win condition is tempo and just about all their cards do that sort of thing. With the majoirty of board clears being 2 dmg, once you buff a decent number of minions to 3 health, you can basically just stampede over your opponent.
Warlock is a painful reminder that Blizzard's Arena team doesn't really give two fucks considering Abyssal Enforcer rate is still nerfed in appearance rate and the lack of 2 drops is fairly disgusting. However Warlock is interesting because there's a specific flavour in how you draft Warlock, and with 6 runs under my Ungoro belt I've still been averaging 6.7 wins with the class. 2 drops is in a dire condition but Warlock has some premium 1 mana cards which can negate the problem of hero powering on 2. Cards like Hellfire are at an absolute premium as lacking 2 drops and Imp gang means it's very viable now to use Hellfire ASAP to gain card advantage.

If you asked me for a hard ranking I'd probably say:
1) Paladin
2) Mage
3) Hunter (yes, better than Rogue)
4) Rogue
5) Priest
6) Shaman
7) Druid
8) Warlock
9) Warrior
In reality, if you're just sort of a casual arena runner I'd say the "safe picks" are probably Paladin and Mage with maybe Rogue in contention. Anyone who is saying Paladin is not the best right now I think may be a little off the mark and I'll explain that. Paladin currently has the most insane options at Rare - Legendary slots, with the Rare slot being the most important. Stonehill Defender, Spikeridged Steed and Vinecleaver are just simply put bombs for Paladin at the rare slot. They generate RIDICULOUS amounts of value. Stonehill often giving you a tier 1 legend (Tirion/Tarim), epic (Primordial Drake), or rare (another Stonehill to re-roll, Grimestreet Protector). Vinecleaver just being a 4/3 weapon that makes 6/6 worth of minion stats spread across 6, buffable bodies. Stegadon just being much more likely than in constructed to give you a massive wall opp can't deal with easily, and then value give you another 2/6 taunt on death if they like Meteor the rider or whatever. At epic you have Dinosize which can just win games out of no where and because it costs 8, even on turn 10 you can at the very least hero power and make a Faceless Behemoth. At legend, Tirion, Rag Light, and Tarim are all tier 1 rips, which is a pretty high % compared to other classes.
The reason I put Hunter ahead of Rogue is simply put Hunter currently has the best value commons and if you can go into a draft looking to build a low-to-the-ground aggro deck cards like Crackling Razormaw can just be berserk. The beast synergies also help boost the effectiveness of what i'd consider a tier 1 neutral rare in Vicious Fledgling. A Fledgling that isn't immediately answered in Arena is often just going to seal a game within a turn or 2 and being able to get bonus value off it being a Beast is huge. I think Rogue can be good too, but I feel like to some extent it relies too heavily on cards like Hallucination to get good rips. Un'Goro kind of felt like they wanted to re-position Rogue for a Miracles type deck despite the removal of Conceal from Standard so you have a bunch of cheap spells that aren't necessarily super effective.
I see that people don't favor Priest, but I had very good results with Priest, just finished 10 win run, had another 10 win run few days ago and 5 win run in the meantime. Also had several other good Priest runs. With Hunter, bad runs are about 4-5 for me, and good runs 6-8.
So for me Tier 1: Mage, Rogue, Priest, Paladin. Tier 2: Hunter And Warrior is never pick.
Check the leaderboard again, Blizzard updated it. #71, congrats.
Holy shit. They fixed it. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW. I was pretty sad when I didn't make it since their calculations were weird. Thanks for the ego boost!

Since the Warlcok is not the best arena pick anymore, i wonder what heroes are the best to pick nowadays?

Ruid is OP as fck paladin discivery and mage board clears and rogue tempo things are nothing compared to it KappaPride
Thorough explanation
In my opinion the classes from the strongest to the weakest are:
Mage, Rogue, Paladin, Priest, Shaman, Warlock, Druid, Hunter, Warrior.
Rogue is really strong now!! Envenom Weapon
NAH, I just always pick rouge to scare them off with the golden hero.
#sylvanasisbae
Mage > Paladin > Rogue > Priest > Hunter > Pile of crap > Warlock > Druid > Shaman > Warrior.
But if you get offered mage you pick mage 100% of the time.
Bitch i'm Willy Wonka!

If you are a strong player
Tier 1 - Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Rogue
Tier 2 - Druid, Priest, Shaman, Warlock
Tier 3 - Warrior
If you are a weaker player
Tier 1 - Mage, Paladin
Tier 2 - Hunter, Priest, Rogue
Tier 3 - Druid, Shaman, Warlock
Tier 4 - Warrior
