***The arena averages seem to be off. In the July arena leaderboard Blizzard counted the frost festival win, but in August they didn't. I guess the max wins on a run during the frost festival in August was 11.
I still made the leaderboard, but my average went from 7.67 to 7.23 because of this change :(

Apparently they didn't count the +1 with frost festival bonus. Not sure what they plan to do about it. It's a bit weird either way since my average without the frost festival is still 8.2. Didn't expect it will be #5 tho, guess this -1 from frost festival helped, and simultaneously pissed off more people lol
Pretty happy about that, don't think I'll ever get that high again. Current month my latest few runs have been quite unlucky. I also decided to try out Warrior for the first time and got 1 win out of that, so there goes that lol. Like sitting at 6.6 atm with 13 runs. Can only go... up I guess lol

I'm giving up on my September leaderboard run. Good luck to anyone else trying for it.
Just drafted a Shaman deck with four dragons, evolve, thrall deathseer, doppelgangster, and bomb squad. The draft also has an ice breaker and double avalanche which will probably be bad, but might have some moments.
I'm going to enjoy the end of this month playing bottom tier classes and making meme drafts
I moved over to Heartharena for tracking about a month ago so basically started fresh. 34 games since then and my WR is 6.21 on average. Not leaderboard levels yet but pretty respectable I think. Going to make a big go of it for October.
Very well done Zashiki, must feel sweet to break your personal record as well : )
To motivate myself to get better at playing Arena I keep track of my rolling average over the last 100 runs. With 215 runs in total I now have 115 of these averages. After a pretty swingy period it started rising again, it's at 5.78 now : )
(7 Runs in this season I have a 7,3 average. Definitely the highest I ever had even over such a small sample. Let's keep this up and dodge the 2- or 3-win runs)
I'm happy about this tbh, partly because once again my 30 runs got some ridiculously bad RNG toward the end and skewed my record below a 7. I've been playing a bit more to see if I can hit 7+ but now I'm mostly just enjoying the moment. It will be fun to test out dual class arenas. I doubt they'd give us free wins like frost festival but the free tickets will be gud. It might be a noob farm ground for the grinders but I'm sure this change will make Arena fun at least even for the veterans like me for the next couple of weeks.

After a year of Arena mediocrity, I averaged 6 wins in August and September. I did one run per day and never had to scrap for gold. Had my first 12-win runs. I thought I'd finally cracked the code.
Now, in October, I'm averaging 2.5 wins. I have no gold and have to quest three days to get into the arena. Feels like every deck I play against has all the answers.
So what happened? Was I just lucky for a few months? Have I just been unlucky in October? Did the meta change suddenly in ways I am missing?

Could be short term luck but 6 win avg over 2 months (60 runs) is decent sample size. To be fair, 6 wins + daily quests = about infinite player. You won't accumulate gold quickly, but you can probably sustain 1 run per day with this average. If you are doing less then 6 then you start getting into the negatives even with quest rewards.
Probably need a bit more info on your game play, drafts, stats (classes, with coin, match ups, etc), before commenting further. I've only started playing HS again after KFT so I can't comment on the immediate past environment but it feels that there are more punishes for being off the board / hard to play off the board/ easier to snowball a board compared to a year ago.

Today I continued Arena 3:0 great deck with Rogue. Lost one due to misplay. Lost 2nd because of Deathwing, but probably had a misplay. Figured out what is the reason. I didn't feel relaxed, I felt nervous and impatient. So maybe Arena didn't change, but you did?
I don't know if it's luck, if I got better or average opponent skill dropped but my average amount of wins this month is far higher than it's ever been for me. Currently at 7.44 over 18 runs, unfortunately with a 2-3 Rogue run in there where I just faced 3 really strong opponents early on. Actually, I have a huge problem with finding the time to do one run/day on average, therefore I would be really pissed if Halloween event runs wouldn't count (cause I absolutely won't be able to get to 30 before the 24th). I like the fact Blizzard comes up with a special Arena event but as a player going for the Leaderboard I also find it kind of weird we only hear this now, would've prefered hearing it before I decided to go for it this month.
@Zashiki, interesting your strongest class is Hunter, I haven't tried it yet. My MVP is Warlock, 3 runs completed (12-2, 9-3, 12-0) and now on a 6-1 with it. What are your results with the class? (Cool thing is that I'm 11-0 against Warlocks this month, making it my best matchup)
Hopefully Blizzard will exclude runs from the Halloween event for the leaderboard, otherwise results will be skewed again though not as much as during the Frost Festival at least...
That may happen based on Mike Donais' post on Reddit. Although I'm not sure if he means that the excluding will happen or that he just passed the message on to people responsible of the leaderboard.

August leaderboard is fixed and the Chinese players dominated everyone.

The arena leaderboard is going to be skewed again :(
The free arenas will benefit arena streamers and grinders like Hafu and the Chinese Meow arena clan.
It would be nice if arenas during the Halloween event Oct 24-Nov 6 didn't count towards the October and November leaderboards.
Everyone will be happy getting extra wins and rewards that they won't care that the arena leaderboard is tarnished.

1st month back after a year off Hearthstone, should probably make the leaderboards with 7.3 win avg over the 1st 30 games?

Old school WoW Mage motto: if you don't end the run with the most damage dealt AND the most deaths, you're not trying hard enough.
