It seems now with so many decks being Insane that Arena is even more and more about deck quality.
For example, the Last 3 Hunters I have played against have ALL 3 played on On Curve Call of the Wild. I've played vs a Mage who at 0-1 and 2x Blizzard, Flamestrike, and Ragnaros. I could go on but it feels like more than ever it's about high rolling in the draft. In terms of the decks I am facing the decks I see at 0-1 seem no different in general than those I have come across at 8-1
It happened to me. My win rate plummeted after Arena changed to standard. I adjusted and am almost back to where I was. Un'Goro will change everything though. Happy hunting!
I'm guessing the new expansion that is coming out is causing many of the casual arena players like myself to save gold. Rather than get more packs of gadgetzan. The more hardcore players who buy packs with real money and infinite players are left. This increases the skill level quite a bit.

This though has nothing to do with my post. How good somebody is has nothing to do with the quality of cards they are given the option to draft. If this was the case, Kripp would have access to multiple Kabal Talon Priests, Firelands Portals, Flamestrikes, etc each run.
I think many people would agree that taking a soso deck to 12 wins is a sign of better play than a person being carried because they drafted 4x Talon Priest, 4 Board Clears, etc
The easier it is to get whatever power cards a class has, the more it is about who high rolls in the draft
same for me, i had average arena win 6.5 before they added the legendary & epic cards draft ratio, now i draft decks with one epic vs 3 legendary & lot of epics decks at 0-2 , cant play arena any more .. & its more about cards quality .... i know i know & i do it "get 12 wins with 0 legendary & 0 epics ... but i feel so bad when i play vs hight quality arena decks , i m f2p player & i think that blizz doesnt like me when i draft bad deck vs constructed deck.
Nope. Players with skill will have higher win rates on average. Also the same thread is posted over and over again here.
The best arena players have already stated that card quality is of paramount importance now and the draft is so wild and varied it can lead to just terrible card selection or wildly over the top selections.
I REALLY like the new Arena. It feels more like you actually stand a chance to use strong spells to stop a crazy curve, and I really like playing more with Burgly Bullies and Coldarra Drakes over the junk River Crocolisks all the time. Getting screwed by bad basic pulls is never fun.

many f2p use arena to earn profits. Blizzard changed so u may meet crazy op deck to ruined the average win rate. Someone also complain that arena reward have become worst since new expansion announce.
Every draft is actually fun, as are the games. I am consistently hitting 7 wins and I finally hit my first 12 win arena right after the update. I like arena and I'm pretty excited to try out the inform update.
My only problem with arena are the rewards. Hate getting 25 dust or a golden common -_-
I think it got worse. For example just lost to a priest who made literally a minimal of 5 missplays (healing a minion instead of himself, then trading the minion) etc. etc. but he purely won thanks to drafting some high-tier cards like Mind Control. So I'd say there is somewhat less skill involved now the chances of getting good cards have improved.
I was able to reach 7-8 wins with even the worst decks in old arena cause card quality didnt matter much against curve back then. But now it is closer to constructed mode and i dont think this is healthy.
And I find people who haven't adapted to the meta will side with this sort of statements and chuck it all up to the draft. My average had increased with this change, will likely make the leaderboard, and all I needed was the right predictions on how you draft as well as how you play.

In my opinion there is merit to both sides of this argument. On one hand, card quality is more important in determining the upper and lower limits of how far a deck can go. Don't take these numbers literally but for example, in the wild arena meta, a mediocre card quality deck could go 12 wins if you got lucky with your curve and draws. Right now I think a similar deck would have a MUCH lower chance of going 12, even with perfect curve and draws because it can so easily run into consistent AOE and disgustingly high deck quality at higher wins.
On the other hand, however, the skill factor is still enormous in this game and in spite of the fact that card quality in a deck matters more, it doesn't matter so much more as to result in a 2+ WR average change. There's a huge amount of drafting skill that people haven't adjusted to yet. Value is more important than before, but on the other hand you still need to draft appropriately for curve or you will just lose the early tempo game. While the variance of deck quality may affect individual runs, over a larger sample size like 50+ runs, the more skilled players who are able to adapt their strategies to the new meta will consistently have high win rates just like they did in the Wild meta. Take a look at the leader boards when they are released for March and see how big a different there is, especially excluding the top 10 players. In my opinion, if you are experiencing a large decline in the wins per run compared with pre 7.1 patch, then you need to make changes to your drafting and play style, rather than take the easy option of just complaining that the new arena makes it impossible to do well.
i m ok for every thing you have sed but the reel problem for me is the quality of cards when i draft, i realy dont have good chioses, no legendary no epics ; im not that kind of person that say "no luck blizzard hate me" but i m shour thx to the streamers they have x3 better drafts then mine; blizz doesnt like f2p
Arena certainly is more dramatic. In the last week I lost two games due to my opponents topdecking Deathwing. In the first game Deathwing was followed up by a *second* Dragonfire Potion to clear my board for the fourth time, and in the second game the topdecked Deathwing was followed up by a topdecked Argent Commander for exact lethal - while his hero had one health, of course. Last night I played against a Mage who had Fireball, 3(!) Firelands Portals (one summoning Leeroy) followed up with Y'Saarj summoning a Faceless Behemoth. This was at two losses of course.
So yeah, late-game power cards now can win you games in Arena. It is a different world kiddos, but it is also more exciting even when you are crushed by insanely OP decks.

Let's not judge until after the rotation. It will change arena dramatically.

The previous arena was just better they ruined it

Not at all.

When I die, I want to go peacefully and in my sleep like my Grandpa. Not yelling and screaming like the passengers in his car.
euw ... i think that the "random" draft & rewards & packs isnt realy "random" they can change it as they want & they want our money ^^
