1000000% agree not fun. I'm sorry but I don't find it fun to play against literal constructed dragon priest who plays operative into netherspite all working and so on while Im dropping common 5 drops. The synergies are not fun to play against in arena. If I wanted that, I'd go to ranked mode. It's also not fun to have an opponent play 4 jade lightnings in 5 turns, followed by a jade chieftain which summons a 5/5 jade by turn 9. Once again, if I wanted this to happen to me, I'd go play ranked mode. How is this fun anymore? It basically all boils down to insane RNG draft now.
i can agree that arena is less fun now because its more similar to ranked, but you cant complane abute your wr going down. Im an avagrage or slightly over average in arena with 5.7 wr in 52 arena (msg pre nerf era) and now i have 5.5 wr in 10 games (msg after nerf) ( 2 of the games i went 1-3 because i didnt know how to draft, but now i do).
Arena has been a blast since the change and I've been having a ton of fun. One thing I've noticed people not mentioning though, is the diversity of classes. During the Karazhan meta it wasn't uncommon to face 7-8 mages in a row during a single arena run. After the patch however, the meta, to me seems more diverse. I have yet to have an arena run where I face the same class 5+ games in a row.
I think Arena has improved with the addition of more spells and higher chance for epic cards. I think these changes have made more classes viable, warlock and mage still dominate though. However I absolutely hate the fact that it is now standard. There are so many cards that will absolutely never see play in wild that would see play in a wild Arena. They should go back to wild arena as it is much more fun. Shame on blizzard for doing this.
just played vs a golden monkey on turn 7 (and won) and the game after he reno with 5 hp when i had 10 dmg in hand, one arena run after again someone reno with 5 hp when i have fireball
arena became such a shit place (and btw my winrate in higher than ever 6,5 in 15 arenas and i still think arena became shit)
I agree that the post-patch arena is a shitshow. Every player's draft quality is alot closer together meaning that RNG plays larger role than before. Don't get me started on the cards that let you play cards from outside your class, they are the real cancer.
I'm not going to argue whether the new arena is better or worse. Personally, though, I'm not sure it works for me. I don't play arena a lot, but I used to average 4 wins - not great, but not awful - with occasional spikes to 8-9 wins. I was excited by the announced arena changes, but in the five runs I've made with these changes, I've gone 1-2 wins each time. Some of that is undoubtedly my play, but some of it is also undoubtedly my drafts, which have not featured many good options. Add to that the fact that my losses have largely not been competitive, and I think I'm about to bow out of arena if nothing changes by my tenth run. It's not for me anymore.
Right with you, bro. I'm not a stellar Arena player either (I don't keep track of averages, but probably 3-4 for me; average or slightly above. I've made 12 wins once and 11 twice, and have gotten all but two classes to at least 7 wins.) but since the changes I haven't made more than 3 wins at all, and I've played at least half a dozen runs. I am running out of gold, as it's not getting replenished by any good quality arena runs, and I tend to get only dust from the poor run rewards. I'm losing interest fast - I like Arena because it breaks up the monotony of constructed (which, of course, speaks to the state of constructed right now too), but it doesn't really feel that way anymore. Hoping for a good (mindless) brawl this week.

You know that less difference in draft quality means less RNG is involved right? The new arena requires much more skill then before you can't rely on 1 2 3 4 5 curve RNG to win games obviously. You have to think about the draft and how you play the game. It was an awesome change. You can more constantly get good runs if you know how to play the game. Sure sometimes you get a shit draft but on average the arena is much more consinstant. It was a good change for the better players and a bad change for roleplayer casuals who want to play with wild cards and rely on purely RNG to win games.

Well, if that's true, let's see how fun arena is for the better players once the 'casuals' are driven out of it.
It does seem very draft dependent now. I either get 3 wins (33% of the time), less than 3 (33% of the time) or 7+ wins it seems.
Defias Cleaner turns up several times in every draft, I suppose that's ok because so does Bomb Squad, you just have to be able to silence it next turn lol.
Warlock seems particularly prone to bad drafts (either get a decent zoo deck + Abyssal Enforcer for turnaround or else end up with a ton of Felfire Potions and minions that kill you when you summon them).

It's a lot of fun even at high wins playing control versus control or control versus a fast hunter / warlock that counters slower decks etc. The new arena is way more fun then constructed or the old arena was. Slow meta, long games, variety of decks. You get to build a semi-constructed deck you have to think about synergies it's just amazing. Arena should have been like this since the start. (Except for the rewards, they suck so much 12 wins now is worse then 8 wins in beta.)
Arena now is complete fucking cancer. It's still a 100% RNG shitshow, and now you get punished for picking 6 2-drops and hard mulliganing for them but not getting any until turn 5 and getting rushed down by some tard who got carried by his deck and not his skill. Draft RNG and draw RNG play even bigger roles than ever before, and it's not fun at all.

It's not draft RNG it's knowing how to build a deck with what you are given. You could try not picking 6 2 drops in a slower meta or if you do build your deck around that and be agressive. Safest is to just go for mage and build it really slow and learn how to control mage vs control mage.
I'm averaging 9 wins per arena after the patch.
I like to make cards and discuss game balance.
I enjoy when "No similar decks were found."

@Carandraug At 0-1, I faced a mage deck with 2 pyroblasts, flamestrike, and 2 blizzards. Welcome to the new arena.

No shit it is not fun. When I said that before release I got downvoted to ground. There you go now. Thank God it's not permanent.

Forgive me, friend. I have failed.

Played 2 arenas tonight. Played 5 warriors (lost against each one) and 2 shamans. (won one)
1-3 with mage today :(
No AoE except volcanic potion, no single target removal at all and a load of 1 drops :/
At least I had Nefarian though and 2 Babbling Books to fish for it.
Anyone with tips / recommendations for the new arena style?
Tend to lose a lot right now not sure anymore if it's bad luck or drafting skill. Used to make 5-7 avg but now that has dropped drastically.
