According to Kripp theres still a lot of Wild decks in Arena as some drafted before the change are still on their runs. He advised waiting a few days before playing.
That is because people wait on Wild decks to troll and snipe Kripp...Normal players have a drastically less chance of encountering them...Am on my 14th Standard run and haven't come across one yet except on opening day.
Also to other people complaining at a lower win rate it's not because of the changes it's because of the way you're playing, such as failing to adapt to the new meta and weighting the risks of new threats/probabilities and your getting punished for it. Am one of the top Arena players on NA and my win % is no different then what it was prior to Standard...Good players will keep on winning.
I will also add that in large Standard Arena is slightly more skilled based, so if you're winning less it's probably partly due to the fact you were getting a few extra undeserved wins before because of the lucky quick games...Now that games generally last longer that means more room for error. It's a good change overall, and others should think so as well...I think we've had enough of turn 5-9 games all the damn time it's bullshit and boring.
After drafting a few arenas this week (6 arenas, with 12, 11, 8, 2x 6 and 5 wins) I can say that I'm enjoying arena like I haven't done in a very long time.
In fact it's been a while since I hadn't played arenas at all, but the new changes really force you to play around the opponent hand and resources.
Whoever sees his winrate falling just need to adapt to how arena works now, which is less of a CurveStone tempo game and more of really thinking how to extract all value from your cards.
The overall power level of decks is lower. In my 11-win run I was 11-1 and lost twice as final boss against the same pre-patch mage with a really insane deck full of flamestrikes and 3x unstable portals (which is just as balanced and well-designed as it has always been). And today I made 12-1 where again I lost only one game against another pre-patch mage who happened to draft 3 flame cannon and 3 flamestrike. My deck today was just insane: brann, ragnaros, 2x kabal courier, jeweled scarab, argus, tomb spider, doom! as board clear... And yet I hadn't a chance against a pre-patch drafted deck.
All in all, I think the arena is healthier now. Although I was very skeptical of the change, I think the increased spell chance and the reduced appearance of flamestrike and some really unbalanced cards has really improved the mode.
The gap between a good deck and a bad one is much bigger than it used to be. If you were good and had a bit of luck, you could do reasonably well even with a mediocre deck. Nowadays, it's not possible. It's not fun to pilot a shitty deck against constructed-like decks.
This. I used to be an infinite arena player, being able to get 3-5 wins with a shitty deck and 10+ wins with a good deck, averaging out to a 7-8 average win rate. Nowadays a bad deck instantly goes 0-3...

Just means you're not as good as you think you are...Don't blame the system...Blame yourself...Everyone is on the exact same playing surface as you are...Everyone has the same advantage and disadvantage....The only real difference is that games normally last longer now which means the scrubs are making more mistakes then before and as a result are winning less.
Best Advice for Arena: Wait for them to change it again... I've never gotten anything better than 1/3 since the new Standard Arena hit, and I seem to be constantly battling from behind.... I'm slowly becoming best friends with my concede button T_T

If I was losing to good plays or for misplaying I wouldn't mind, but losing because your deck has no Legendaries and a ton of shitty Neutrals while the opponent has a near-constructed level deck with crazy legendaries like Ragnaros the Firelord/Raza the Chained is really frustrating because you're gonna lose no matter how well you played, or how badly the opponent played. Its like trying to ladder with a Basic deck.

The bullshit will always level out.....The amount of bullshit losses you get will equal the amount of times you did it to someone else. Stop blaming Arena and start looking at yourself and the way you're playing...Many times you don't think you're making mistakes until you really analysis the plays your making and state of mind. Less crying and put that energy into your game play. Hate people that come on forums bitching that their winning less now blaming the system...It's your own game play...Nothing else...Standard Arena is more punishing to errors and not playing around counters...Stop asking for Arena changes to improve your win % and instead start getting good son. The win % will always balance itself over time....Arena changes won't improve your win % anyway in the long run.
So... many... six drops. I'm not sure if there is a particularly high number of epic six drops, but it seems like a lot of the epic picks I have (and there are a lot more epic picks than before) come down to a choice of total rubbish or a six drop. Or sometimes just three six drops.
My latest draft has seven six drops, despite actively trying to avoid them from about pick ten onwards, and most of my other drafts have been much the same. Defias Cleaner is a nice card, but I really don't need to be offered 3+ of them in each draft.
On the flip side, as others have said, it's really hard to draft early drops. I think I have two *real* two drops in the latest draft, having picked every one that I was offered, along with a few two cost cards that you wouldn't usually want to drop on turn two.
My last draft was a truly terrible warrior deck, with no weapons, other than N'Zoth's First Mate, no removal other than Cleave, too little early game and mediocre mid and late game minions. It went 0:3 and I really didn't stand a chance in any of the matches.
Despite the above I'm still not totally against standard arena - I do like the greater chance to get some of the interesting epics and legendaries - but my experiences so far have been quite painful.
I've learned the hard way that it seems you need to play around stuff more, but it's still quite frustrating as in a lot of situations (e.g. if you have a shitty deck), you just can't afford to. I think I've been in general a bit unlucky with my drafts so far, as I don't feel like the power level got higher at all (only those of my opponents decks). I've only played a few runs so far, so I'm not complaining yet and I think my runs of 7+ wins will come back to me again. Currently going 3-6 mainly, which is dragging my average down quite a bit, but I'm generally still having fun. It feels tough to get beat by a priest who has all the perfect answers though. Potion of madness is seriously OP in a lot of situations in arena...

You realize that, if you reach above 3 wins on average, bullshit leveling out is not in your favour? I am not saying you are wrong, that it is more skill based now, I don't have big enough a sample size for that, but your argument for more crazy RNG bullshit is fundamentally flawed by the fact that you need nearly a 70% win rate to keep playing indefinately. Hate people that come on forums being all cocky about how fantastic they are and telling others what shit to do and not to do in a video game...
How exactly is anything i said flawed? RNG always equalizes over time....If the numbers don't play out it means there is other contributing factors other then RNG such as player errors.
Also if a player normally gets above 3 wins that means he is more skilled/making less errors, that has nothing to do with bullshit being in his favor over the long run. Good players will always tip the scale and find ways to win.
Over the course of hundreds and hundreds of Arenas my win % always stays around the 72-73% win mark...Even with new Standard arena am still 73%...And in wild before i was 73%....Maybe you should listen to the fantastic people giving advice so you can be fantastic one day as well.

Kripp? It's that you?
Haha, this is exactly why you can't believe anything people like this say. Even Kripp only has a 7.78 (at time of stats published by Blizzard) so most people outside the pros/streamers claiming over a 7 average is probably bullshitting which automatically discounts the rest of what they say.
Having said that the few arena runs I have done in standard do seem swingier in quality, but I think most of it is that I have just not adjusting to the new standard meta and cards options.
And as people have said over several runs the long term randomness does even out and averages should stay the same. Personally I quite like the higher synergy with decks and the higher number of spells and a more wide range of rarities. Seems to have lead to a slightly less tempo curve based game and slightly more value based one which is good.
People are definitely not drafting constructed decks, the key difference is people win less by going face, also getting off to a good start is sometimes meaningless due to the increase in spells giving people the means to counter that. People can react to a good start better than they used to. Overall I wouldn't say the meta is more fun or less fun, it's different, but without new cards to spice things up it isn't overly thrilling. Like with any new things, you adjust, and you go back to your merry way of auto pilot drafting once you better understand the changes. In general, you can now draft bigger and don't need a low curve.
I've played my first arena and all I can say is that it seems a little slower without all the wild cards. I went 12-2 with this deck below. This is my first 12 win arena and I felt more in control as I played through the games with the limited card pool I can better predict the moves and counter-moves against the other players. I didn't see a variety of other classes in arena only the usual mage, rogue, and pally. I don't really know if I would like it in the long run but as of now it seems okay.
The last couple of months I have only gotten around 3-5 wins most of the times, but now I get 7+ consistently - I believe it is because i'm better able to create an actual control deck that works in arena.

I think the skills needed for arena have shifted slightly, but play a few more times. It's probably just a streak of bad RNG.

Nope... Always 1 win for me

If you don't have a Bog Creeper or removal for one, you're toast. Absolutely THE most valuable card in Arena right now.
Forgive me, friend. I have failed.

Should you craft/disenchant (Golden) Sylvanas or Ragnaros?

My runs have been significantly slower, multiple games almost reaching fatigue, so I'm a big fan.

Am not understanding this? What are you getting at with ''Game would be changed to who ever goes first, the role of RNG would increase''?
