You could say skill to make yourself feel better, not to say you aren't skilled, I am sure this played a large part in your success. But I would also lend it to the fact you might have gotten lucky and paired up against people who had very poor draft choices, made very poor draft choices, or plain and simple everyone is playing a very randomized deck. But still, grats on going that record with the deck.
It's actually a very decent deck, you certainly got lucky on the draw...one of the best legendaries in the game combined w/ epics and very nice Paladin rares. On top of that a truesilver, two good secrets and BoK...it simply doesn't get much better.
Eyepod, it just felt lacking I guess because I was missing the direct damage and mass removal. I will say that my perfect game play with zero mistakes made the deck work. The one loss was turn 6 to a mage.
That deck is almost like most paly swarm deck (only it is better) which does really well in masters vs people with multiple legendaries. with your hero power you have so much board control to generally control the board the whole game, you have your BoK, Truesilver Champion (second most OP weapon only behind Gorehowl), and best pally secrets. Of course you probably got dem mad skillz!!! Only a mass AE mage deck can deal with this. Maybe Hunters with explosive trap/shots.
FYI Blessed Champion is a horrible card, don't know what your other choices were but it's hard to pick BC over many other cards.

So, how did this happen? Is the deck that good, am I skilled, or is it just luck of the draw?

Here's the key factors: Good draft, Easy opponents, good class, good draws, bad draws for opponents, smart plays, keeping control.
It's not that the game is hard, it's about having sound decision making, doing things in the right order, and having some luck in what you draw.
Thanks for the comments.
