So I've noticed that some weeks they just say blah blah random blah blah mana. I'm sure everyone is generally divided on each brawl, people are going to have their reasons for why each brawl sucks or kicks ass. I suppose when it was introduced it appealed to f2p players like myself because it was another way to gain cards and also occasionally let's you play with cards that you don't have, like in these random deck brawls where you get some class legendaries, etc.
I think from the more serious player's point of view it showed just how flexible the hearthstone engine is and how easily they can make changes to hand play options. Since the advent of tavern brawl there have been endless suggestions on what people would like to see, and I've had plenty of ideas myself. Now, I may be an optimist, but I'm hoping that somewhere begins the curtains the great wizard of Blizz is using these brawls to design future game play expansions such as the brawl itself. Obviously there wouldn't be much point in dedicating a lobby to the summoning portal game , but essentially you could have a number of different lobbies for different game play options including one dedicated to tavern brawl variants.
I think that even though the expansions are coming pretty consistently now, it is game play options that will attract new players and entertain die hards the most. Of course we act like hearthstone has been around forever... We talk about the undertaker nerf like it was years ago, when in fact it was less than a year ago. A year before that there wasn't even a hearthstone yet! Still, I can't help but wonder what blizzard has in mind for the future. It has become pretty clear that it's not too difficult for them to do whatever they'd like though!
So how about testing this idea on brawl mode, blizzard, then maybe one day giving it to us full time: Pick your class, then build a deck using any cards from the collection including other class cards. Fun right? You know it's what we've always wanted to do, so let us do it!
With the advent of Brawl, I'm actually hoping that eventually Blizzard will be stumble upon an interesting set of rules that is fun and engaging (as in it makes you think and not just fart your hand out mindlessly). Once they've stumbled upon said set of rules, I'd like to see it added as yet another casual mode of the game, possibly permanently, or used to spawn a creative new set of cards for an expansion.
I don't think brawls like Randomonium will give birth to any of that kind of inspiration though.
Yeah it's clear that a number of brawls are just filler, but the hope that more casual play modes will eventually be introduced is the best thing about the brawls. I'm not saying I'm bored with hearthstone by any means, I'd just really like to see play mode expansions sooner rather than later
