Of course I'd get the Brawl quest with this brawl up, and have it as the only >40g quest out of 3. Le sigh.
So much effort to get 5 wins. You basically have four outcomes:
You get bad/neutral RNG. Your opponent gets bad/neutral RNG. Result: you have to hope that your opponent ends up having worse RNG than you. You get bad/neutral RNG. Your opponent gets good RNG. Result: you've pretty much lost. You get good RNG. Your opponent gets bad/neutral RNG. Result: you've pretty much won. You get good RNG. Your opponent gets good RNG. Result: you have to hope that your opponent ends up having worse RNG than you.
In one case you just lose, in two cases you're still a 50-50 chance of losing and have to hope that your opponent rolls badly, and in one case you just win. When you're trying to win for some reason (in my case, to complete the 5 win quest), having 3 out of 4 games pretty much out of your hands isn't fun at all. It's just aggravating.
But what might be worse is that last scenario, where you and your opponent both get good RNG. Nothing's as crushing as encountering situation 2 repeatedly (where you have bad rattles and they have good ones), finally getting some good cards, and having your opponent get even better ones (for example, a mage opponent just happening to have Arcane Explosion when you've finally gotten a turn 2 Haunted Creeper, or getting a Dreadscale as your first rattle, only for your opponent to have gotten Scavenging Hyena from his).
Seriously they should just cancel Tavern Brawl. It is so terribly boring. This is just one big RNG fiesta who rolls the most Savannah Higmanes and King Crush's as possible
I was real disappointed, Spiders Brawl is the worst of all of them. After the delay yesterday I figured they were working out the bugs on a new form of brawl. Who wants to bet we'll never see blackheart's booty?
Can we at least all agree that if you're going second, the correct play is to coin out two spiders Turn 1? I either do that or watch my opponent do it pretty much every game.
Also, do the classes with hero powers that deal one damage (Druid, Mage, Rogue) have an advantage here? Or is the card advantage not worth the tempo loss?
This brawl is literally defined as, "Who ever gets the first spell that is aggressive, basically wins".
Like if you get any class specific spell card that is aggressive you technically win. Every single one of these shitty ass brawls are defined by who is the first person to get the spell advantage.
Got a weird bug today with the brawl, my opponent played Arcane Golem all of a sudden. Sure enough I had no use of extra mana, and he just got exact lethal with it. And the best thing seems to be Starving Buzzard, a plenty of webspinners then Savage Roar them to face.

Meh. If they want to repeat an RNG brawl, there are several that were much more fun than this one. Not enough beast variety today. Plus, whoever plays Gahzrilla first generally automatically wins, unless the opponent has a means of removal on the board or in hand that turn.

Nope, yo're wrong. When your health is lower than 12 and you have no spells that activates Gahzrilla that's no matter how many Gahzrillas you will play — you are too close to lose. I played a warrior vs a hunter and i had only 7 life left when he plays one Gahzrilla and afterwards another one. He looses, because he can't attack my face, or I will be having a lethal next turn.

I think that is correct. At first I would mulligan for things other than spiders. Then you realize that your just about never getting any opener better than all spiders. And yeah i think those one damage hero power classes are a bit better but only late game. The tempo loss isn't usually worth it early game unless you have nothing else to play.

Are you sure your opponent just didn't use Unstable Portal ?

Here's something you need to understand about the devs: None of them play hearthstone. Ever. Ideally they would all get fired and replaced with players then the game would be healthier inthe long run. Sadly that's not how companies work lol. So yeah enjoy being tugged around by these clueless oafs as they struggle to comprehend why it is that things like quickshot are stupid ideas and how people hate shitty RNG. Maybe in 20 years they'll finally stop being dumb.

fine with me. I don't want to see a pirate dude's booty..
what's with this shitty tavern brawl returning again and again? is there someone high up on the blizz hs team who likes it?
Savage Combatant could be great with Rogue
Don't forget to play that dire wolf alpha so ghaz can swing for 1537 instead of 1536.

There is a lot of steak here...

My favorite colour is blue!
Custom cards :
CLASSES : Alchemist (CCC#5 | Phase V) | Chef (CCC#4)
EXPANSIONS : Year of the Scorpion (Year Comp)

Worst brawl so far. 100% rng and shitty cards (beasts??? seriously....)... 1 game for pack and #nextweek
