I am Nefarian and so my opponent is Rag. So the situation is pretty much like this: turn 1 dragon consort Rag just attacks with his weapon turn 2 i coin out onyxia, he attacks a whelp with his weapon and plays liivng lava. In my turn I kill the living lava and play razorgore. Rag attacks with his weapon to the razorgore, opens the settings menu and presses the almighty concede button. So you can see that Rag can do nothing in the early game against Nef. They should be balanced, eh? So what are you guys' thoughts about some changes?
Nefarian is like your typical face huntard and Ragnaros is the late game control warrior. If you don't control the board with Rag you'll most likely lose at turn 5.
I think Blizzard should've went with a different approach the first week for they should know people don't like facing aggro decks all the time.

I think the Control Warriors have a MUCH higher chance of winning against Hunter than Ragnaros has against Neferian though.
Also, I doubt it. Blizzard is so disconnected from their player base it's not even funny.

Yeah, if you don't have a perfect hand as Rag, and your opponent doesn't have terrible hand, Nef can just overwhelm you before you can even get to the Die Insect stage.

there's my thread, thoughts on the conversations being had?
So I kind of agree with your ideas that you listed in your thread about both buffing rag and nerfing nef. I think that rag's weapon should have windfury (it may be against the lore, but seems logical) and nef should start from 3 mana. The reason is that he gets a beastly tempo with dragon consort etc. If we come to the points that I disagree with your thoughts; first of all it doesn't matter if nef doesn't play for a turn and rag gets two consecutive turns, because rag still wont get enough tempo in that situation to handle nef well, so almost nothing will change. And you told that nef's spells should cost as normal. First of all I accept that nef's hero power is op, because when ragnaros is behind(which happens in early and midgame) he doesn't have a hero power that he can trust to. I mean summoning magma ragers won't help you much about putting you ahead in the game. But nef can trust his heropower when he is behind, he can get lethal with it. In contrast rag's heropower is OP against nef in the late game. I mean there should still be a cost reduction for the spells that come out of nef's hero power, but it should not be that much(for example 2 mana reduction so that he cant play fireball in the same turn where he plays a fat minion), so that he can't get unfairly more tempo in the mid game. If there were no cost reduction, the hero power would have been designed for late game and one can easily see that rag's hero power would have been veeery OP against nef hero power, which would have made the matchup a bit unfair from the nef's point of view.
Who Cares? Its over in two days......that's kinda the point. Something fresh each week and the "misdoings" by Blizz will be forgotten come Wednesday on any Tavern Brawl.

i thought that the tavern brawls were on a cycle. so next week won't be nef v. rag, but it'll eventually come back.
The problem with Nef isn't just the early game advantage, it's the fact that, even if you get to late game with Rag, the spells Nef gets from his hero power can completely turn things around. Equality just when you're gaining board control, Shield Slam with 20ish armour, zero mana Flamestrike, Pyroblast and Mind Control.
Both times I've played as Rag I got to the late game and was within a turn or so of winning, only to be screwed by Nef's free spells. I know it's RNG, but it's a particularly painful sort.

The current Tavern Brawl week setup was a complete fail and ridiculously unbalanced, favouring for Nefarian. So much fail that there's actually very little people participating. I have run into several players and fought them several times CONSECUTIVELY because there's just that little people playing and no, I didn't immediately queue up, I waited a bit in hoping to face a different player. Let's hope that every single week it will be different instead of eventually cycling into this stupid weekly setup again in the future.
nefarian is favored, no doubt....but I have been able to win a fair number of my Ragnaros games. And when I do win them it feels really good. It's all about not caring about your life total but instead focusing on board clears. A lot of games ya win with ten or less life as rag but you do win.

Yeah... I think the matchup looks like huntard vs handlock where it is very favored for huntards, but if you as a handlock (assuming you don't play huntard sheet) have a perfect hand you have a high chance to win the game.

I used to think this. Then i stopped playing Wow and started playing alot of other games.
I gotta say. Blizzard is - imo - one of the most well connected to the community gaming company i've had the pleasure of interacting with.
As opposed to alot of other companies, they use feedback, they interact with the community in a variety of ways.
But the grass is always greener on the other side. Try getting the same kinda feedback/player interaction from companies like EA, Ubisoft or Bethesda. No sir, they will leave your support ticket there for about 2 months, and then you will recieve an automated msg.

Trust me, Blizzard is one of the better ones.
Well then. Fuck gaming companies.
OK Blizzard is very helpful in terms of technical problems that we face while playing the game and I rate that 5/5, 8/8, 10/10 But when the situation is about cards and changing meta, they don't seem to hear us because I think that they want to keep the game going through their way, not the players' way. MOARRR AGGRO!!! SMOrc GOOD PLAY BLIZZARD SMOrc

Blizzard has stated repeatedly why they do not want to change (nerf) current cards just because they dominate the meta, they know that new cards will come out and the meta will shift and they also have said that they do no like the idea of nerfing cards because it causes players to lose faith in them. If they nerfed cards that changed the meta then players would just stop playing the FotM card because they know it would be nerfed and thats not what Blizzard wants. They want us to be able to rely on the fact that *most* of the cards they release will stay as-is and we will be able to count on the reliability of those cards without always fearing a nerf, and although it may seem that some cards benefit from the more than others *cough*Dr.GG*cough* they are right in the fact that there WILL be new cards, and there WILL be meta shifts. Who knows, in a few months time the Doctor might not even be an auto-include in most decks.

This tavern brawl thing is the worst thing that's happened to HS...
I've played my five first games today, didn't get a single game with Nefarian. Won 2 games.

Why am I sticky?
The only thing i didn't like about nef was that the cards he gains from hero power cost 0, the rest was fine.
