I haven't played it yet and it sounds boring. They should've just let it be any random boss from Blackrock Mountain vs. another random boss from Blackrock Mountain
Eh, not sure about that. Valestraze vs razor gore would be like having a flamethrower wielding monkey fight against a bull in a wwe cage match while scorpions are being thrown into the ring. So besides being like Japanese wrestling, it would be a nightmare, chaotic, and almost unplayable. Which would actually be better than what they released, good job mate.

I returned to this game much like how a recovering alcoholic can relapse.
Please don't say noone is having fun. I did enjoy this. For those saying that there is no purpose to replaying.....you still get 10 gold for 3 wins, and you can complete quests that are not hero centered. Pretty easy to complete the quest for minions costing more then 5 when you get Nef...
I'm happy with the Brawl, but I was actually expecting not to like it, so I guess it was better than I was expecting.

There are 3 kinds of people in the world. Those that can count and those that can't.
Please don't say noone is having fun. I did enjoy this.
Please notice that I said MOST PEOPLE and not NO ONE. I'm glad you are having fun, and the first three games I did I had some fun as well. The problem is the lack of incentive (10 gold for three wins, really? You are going to use that as an argument?) the fact that nefarian is not broken but DEFINITELY BETTER than rags, and the fact that the novelty wears off really quickly means this is the one day me and many other people will be playing this brawl. And with some people, maybe the only time playing brawl for quite a while, maybe even me outside of the free pack.

This is why Tavern Brawl is ridiculous. Nefarian is extremely favored. As Ragnaros, I got Golragg on the board or whatever his name is and on the next turn he used Assassinate on it...
When I read about brawl I was pretty much excited. When I've played about 10-15 games (and won about 10), I was pretty much bored about it. I was expecting a limited-constructed mode, not a kinda-adventure-story-pretty-straight-foward mode. I mean, the idea behind the brawl is great, the result of the first week is a disaster for representing this idea.
I mean : Not choosing your hero, Not choosing your deck, Playing for fun 1 to 3 hours, And then not playing anymore for a week.
I love the idea behind brawl and I actually don't mind the pre-made decks. The only flaw I see though is a big one, Nef is clearly WAY better than Rag and that makes the mode not fun for me. I played it quite a few times a noticed that a lot of people just concede if they don't get Nef, does that sound like good balance to anyone here? Of course Rag can win as well, but I think most people will agree that it's much easier to just concede and play as Nef. So after a while I just conceded every time I got Rag, then won REALLY easy games with Nef and the mode instantly became pointless and boring for me after that.
In the future I think Blizzard should take a bit more care in making sure the odds are more even for both players.
People complaining about the premade deck, like if we had to build the lists ourselves people wouldn't be netdecking shit as soon as some pro player make the first stream. The Brawl mode is funny as hell and even the possible disparity between Rag and Nef makes the thing more challenging.
Yeah but then you take into account that we got this instead of new cards and they are already making money from this patch with skins so your argument gets kind of weak.
I like the premade decks. I don't like the colossal advantage Nefarian has though. His starting mana allows him to consistently put large minions on the board earlier than Ragnaros can possibly deal with them, and he can get ridiculous spells out of the hero power.
I've only lost one game as Nefarian, but lost the majority of games with Ragnaros. I lost my Nefarian game due to drawings shit like Blade Flurry and ending up with a hand of ten cards I couldn't physically play. I've lost to Pyroblast several times.
Ragnaros' deck is just too expensive. Cards like Baron Geddon are just useless. Usually if I beat Nefarian, it's because my opponent made a silly mistake.
Actually if played right with a good medicore hand Ragnaros will beat Neferian fairly easily. Neferian has NO mid and late game and starts to fizzle hard around turn 4. Ragnaros has enough to keep the board traded and his hand full until that time.
9/10 I had fun, Nef seems to be more powerful than Rags, but I've only played 3 games against 2 diff people and not as Rag yet, so not the best test pool. But still, I like it, I'm personally a big fan of using premade decks (I love the class challenges too), I know it's not everyone's bag, but at least it's no big deal if you don't partake for that week.
Writing as a professional game developer myself (since mid '80s):
It's unbelievable how some people are complaining and even getting angry about something (Brawl) that:
1) is 100% free, in terms of money and everything else; 2) is not required to be participated in; 3) does not enforce itself onto you; 4) can be just left aside if not to one's liking; 5) (temporarily) grants a free reward for winning once a week.
It once again says enough about the sad mentality of the mindset of 21th century overly spoiled gamers. I don't want to be judging, but I find it outright disgusting. Also it works demotivating for as far as my work goes.
Writing as a fellow game developer, it does seem like the balance between Nefarian and Ragnaros is not right and a couple of hours of play testing should have shown this up.
Unless RNJesus was particularly fiesty for that whole time, Nefarian should have won the majority of games. I still have high hopes for future Tavern Brawls.

Nef power needs to make spells cost 3 less, not 0. and start with like 3 mana maybe

Nerfing the hero power a little I agree with.
However if you reduce starting mana, Rag will absolutely destroy Nef with his insane value 2 mana 6/6 taunt & 3 mana 6/3 6 dmg battlecry.

This is beyond a letdown. I had low expectations an this managed to even fail to meet them. Even though it is free it feels insultingly bad.

lulz. That says it all.

Actually, you said "Nobody wanted this", "nobody asked for this" and "no one is having fun". All on the same page.
I also found this enjoyable. I had fun.

Ragnaros is a joke. Such an unbalanced first week. Terrible implementation.
My stats are:
Ragnaros - 1W - 7L.
Nefarian - 6W.
