I am grateful that Blizz has created this new mode for free but will this mode really entertain us for a week?...Hell no...I played a few games and got bored of it already. There is just no incentive to play more. The RNG on the Nef's hero power is crazy...please enough with the RNG already!!
Suggestion: maybe at least let us modify these pre-made decks?
What people seem to fail to realize is that the Brawl is obviously made for new and casual players (and by casual I mean people who play for fun and not just to grind rank, myself included).
The 'win first game for reward' makes sense that way- people who are more competitive will play, get their pack and go back to ladder. Which means new and inexperienced players will likely have Brawl pretty much for their own towards the later days and a chance to grab the pack, too (and maybe finish some quests).
I think that's a good move by Blizzard. The entry cap for new f2p players to get new cards is pretty steep by doing quests in Casual or Ranked, with the pretty wide spread adventure cards and farming going on in the low ranks. Especially since you can get GvG packs in Arena, now new players have a chance to get their hands on both.
I think the idea is kinda cool, and I'm definitely interested to see what the they have planned for future brawls, but they need to either add rewards for winning future brawls or change the ruleset daily (or both). Like a few people said, it's fun the first couple of times you play a brawl, but I don't really get the point of playing something so repetitive if you're not going to be rewarded for it in some way.
So far not a big fan of premade brawl decks. Hopefully next week you can customize your own deck. Maybe make it a requirement to have at least a certain amount of the special brawl cards in each deck. (i.e. You must have at least 5 brawl cards in your deck)
Played 1, won 1 ... then wondered ... what is the point to playing more? Well, there isn't one apart from the usual 10 gold for 3 wins counts in Brawl too.
I played as Nefarian, and it seemed my opponent had no chance really.
Played 2 as Ragnaros, won 1. The key is to deplete weapon as fast as possible and start di ragnaRAZE everything.
But no point to play a third game. Hope there will be more tricky modes, something that you need to try different deck strategies.
Figured I'd try it. Hit Play, game loads, I'm Nefarian. Other player insta-concedes.
I get my pack and.... I'm done? If people are really insta-conceding because they FEEL that Ragnaros is way underpowered compared to Nefarian, then that's just a SHIT job by Blizzard, I'm sorry but it is.
I still love the idea, and I'm sure future brawls will be fun, but they DEFINITELY need some incentive to continue playing beyond the pack.
I have actually won a couple times as Ragnaros ... it is a tougher win, but it can be done.
That being said, I think they need to tweek things a bit. You should be given packs, powder, or gold after every so many wins, otherwise, why track the wins. I like the idea that the rules change every week, so if you don't like the format one week, come back next week.
As to the complaints, the way I figure it, it is a free game, and Blizzard is putting real work into it. I make the assumption that the next big thing will be an expansion, and they have the entire WoW world to play with. So this one was smaller than other new releases, I can be patient.
Nice game mode.. and fun.. playing raggy needs some skill. if ur raggy try too play as much as u can with ur passive.. he should trade with ur 5/1 cards then u will get turn 5 .. u can play ur game more easy with new passive DIE! INSECT !
I have to say this week Tavern Brawl is pretty disappointing. I was expecting something like "Challenge Stone" where players have restrictions in deck building. However... 1. No deck building 2. 2 unfamilar heros 3. Extremely imbalance, Ragnoros is too weak 4. Too random 5. Unfamilar cards 6. the atmosphere is so bad. They are making Rag and Nefarian rivals, but I don't feel that they hate each other or whatever. Maybe more and better dialogue or some back story explaination? Moreover, sometimes I am rag, sometimes I am Nefarian, the inability of choosing a hero makes me feel not involved in the rivalry. It will be so much better if players can choose their sides, or maybe even access to the card pool of each hero and build their custom deck.
I have an idea. Each player can only choose a side for each week. If a player choose from Rag, he/she can only use Rag and build deck from card pool of Rag. It makes players feel taking part in the Rag vs Nef battle.
What is all the whining about? It is a free mode. Don't like it, don't play it. Geez. How childish can people get? Blizzard just gave away a free mode that is going to change every week.

Don't get me wrong I like the mode but its not going to stay free for long
Ps Im just guessing here but Blizz put in Rag as a challenge. They knew everyone will win in the end as Nef get over it
there wont be any pack rewards for the next brawls?
I thought the plan was for the first win of each brawl series to earn you a pack. Maybe I misread that?

And please get rid of the RNG...

I just got an Epic and a Legendary card from the free brawl pack. Anyone else lucky?

On the contrary to what all other people say, I think this gamemode is FUN.
Stop complaining people, and just be happy that Blizzard added this new mode!
so we should be happy we got this instead of an expansion set? I don't think people are grasping that we got THIS POS over an expansion or adventure.
I think they dropped the ball by not letting us choose the temp Hero we want to play.
Nef vs Nef would be INSANE!
I'm not saying that, because I think making an expansion or adventure takes way more time. This is just a little addition to the game
They better not pull this crap again. I expect some of the actual content they promised us next year.
I returned to this game much like how a recovering alcoholic can relapse.

They should also post a big disclaimer that says "WARNING : REWARDS PAST ONE WIN DO NOT EXIST, MOVE ALONG".
I was hopeful that this would be a mode that's an actual escape from the cancer society that we otherwise call ranked. I am disappointed.
