Honestly I don;t really care about the competitive world champions scene so this brawl really doesn't do it for me. It's a moderately fun time capsule but that's pretty much it.
That is probably the best brawl ever. Super fun to play with great decks in their state of the respective tournament. I just played Ostkaka's Oil rogue. Blade flurry to the face...
what is the significance of the number 36? all my level 60 heroes are level 36 and i gain experience when playing this brawl? is there some hidden secret here akin to what we see in dungeon run?

I suspect it is an oversight in the implementation of using a different name for the player. Then again, perhaps level up to 60 and find out if a secret world is opened.
Side question - how long will it be before someone comes to the forum to announce they faced 'Firebat' in the brawl without understanding how it works?
Ehrm... did I drink too much beer tonight, or did I just see a "Firebat Hunter" with 2 Loot Hoarders?
AFAIK that list should not include those, nor any means to copy/steal/generate them.
EDIT:
Also, playing Pavel's Rogue, got a Gadgetzan Auctioneer with the nerfed cost, instead of the pre-nerf one:
something's amiss in this brawl... or did I miss something? :P
EDIT (2):
OK, I think I understood it, now. Like in the page linked by Tutsumi, "Each of the cards contained in these decks are in their original state from that year", which indeed does not necessarily mean pre-nerfed status.
EDIT (3):
Oh, and about Firebat's Hunter, it seems the list had been updated at some moment. Final one should be here (thanks to Wurstfettfor providing the link).
Isn't this the Fireside Tavern Brawl for this month though? Why have them overlap?
January's Brawl is Hall of Champions!
This Fireside Brawl takes us back to the past, where you can play with the decks from Hearthstone World Champions Firebat, Ostkaka, and Pavel … exactly as they were in 2014, 2015, and 2016!
And, it is pretty easy to win, as a lot of newer players who have no idea what these decks are supposed to do are playing. Why did that guy even play out the freeze mage vs C'thun warrior matchup? Why did another freezemage always remove my board like a tempo deck? Yeye, I had some good games too, and it is a challenge to play perfectly, especially when to hit face with weapons as warror and rogue.
Hall of Champions
Which Legendary Champions' decks grace these hallowed halls? Let's find out!
Cards are unnerfed! Just played a 3 mana Hex
I get the old pre-nerf warrior Patron.
The more easy pack I get from Brawls.

5 mana auctioneer lol
Brace yourselves.. Firebat Deathrattle Hunter, as previously stated cards are reversed, including Undertaker mwahahaha
Kind of frustrating not knowing what's in your deck. Hard to play, at least for me.
Hmm… have the "Win 2 games with Paladin or Priest" quest. Won this tavern brawl while playing Druid and got credit toward the quest. Huh?

Looking forward to play some more...
I didn't play it yet but does yogg is in unnerfed state here?

I think it always counts as priest - got one priest win while I played Pavel's mage deck.

I was firebat with a hunter deck and I played against Pavel who had a mage deck, got win on the first attempt.
happy with my pack
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

All this brawl shows me is that miracle rouge should have been nerfed years ago.
Best brawl ever. Such a blast playing with old pre-nerf cards and decks.
Replayability is so-so given the limited number of decks, but it's good for a fair few fun games. Really wish Blizzard will expand on this later.
This is a great trip down memory lane!
