I don't know if Nefarian is really bad in this brawl or I just can't play it. But I lost 3 times in a row playing Nefarian and won once playing against him.

I had the opposite experience; Nefarian's mana advantage lets him build up a big enough board that Rag can't catch up.

At least sometimes.
Well I played only these 4 games and that's how I feel this brawl. It wasn't easy win while playing Rag but still was a win.
I justrealized that they chose this brawl because Ragnaros gets his shit stomped in by Nefarion almost every single time, and Ahrune hates Raggy. Well, that's kind of funny!
Generating a 0 cost spell for 2 mana is a nice advantage, so far for me anyway it's Nefarian ftw , but tbf all my games have only been Nef and only lost once , I have not rolled Rag once in 7 games but It seems like an OK Brawl so far...
Oh boy can't wait for "Nefarian is op becuase he is the aggressive deck and I don't know how to play rag" people to flood here. Always fun to watch them complain.
Of course nefarian can sometimes snowball out of control but if rag mulligans correctly nefarian needs his hero power to pull some insane stuff to comeback. Mulligan for Son of the Flame, Lucifron, Living Bomb, High Justice Grimstone, and Molten Giants. Most of the other cards don't work well in beating off nefarians massive minions. Also don't be afraid to hero power as nefarian doesn't have any ping damage except from hero power meaning that with your weapon you can remove almost every creature nefarian can play.
Now this is how you properly do a boss showdown Brawl. Nefarian has more mana and can summon bigger minions faster as well as getting any number of powerful spells for free, but Ragnaros' minion have way better stats and better abilities at the cost of doing damage to yourself; neither one is too overpowered to outright defeat your opponents and both decks feel fun and fair.
I have done it 3 times and won easily all three times. 2 with rag and 1 with Nefarian. This has always been my favorite brawl alongside Kel'thuzad vs. Rafaam
On a side note: its funny how back in the days when this brawl got released (it was the first brawl ever iirc) I still was just a barely average player and complained this was heavily unbalanced on Nefarian's favor. Nowadays many things have changed, and winning with Rag is a casual matter. It seems like I'm getting better in the game and its great to realize this in small details like playing a Tavern Brawl =)
Imbalanced brawl... After getting crushed 2 times in a row as Ragnaros I conceded every game unless I got to play as Nefarian. Proceeded to finish my 5 brawl wins daily without a lose.
edit: ok I liked, i won 4 brawls in a row and then went on a losing streak. Seems like rag is more consistent but Nefarian can get out of hand right away if he gets his strong minions on curve. Rag has more tools to comeback for example brawl into 2 8/8 molten giants and general more aoe whereas nefarian must luck out on his hero power which often draws crap such as shadow madness, potion of madness, biding heal etc.
Funny how people seem to think one or the other is way more powerful, to the point where you concede if you don't get the one you want, but I find them to be very balanced.
When this one first came out, I had a tough time winning with Rag, although it did happen.
The second time it seemed people figured out how to play Rag and it was getting tougher to win with Nef.
This time I'm only 1-0 with Nef so far, and with absolutely horrible RNG, like Astral Communion and shit.
Imo both decks are very good and balanced with each other.

Showdown at Blackrock Mountain
The two epic bosses of Blackrock Mountain are settling things once and for all... with your help!

Yes, one of the best brawls!
Fun fun!
Sorry emote is back!

As far as brawls go, this one is relatively balanced. Maybe Nef still has a slight advantage, but Rag gets in there too.

just concede if you get nef, if you get rag, your opponent will concede.
does ahune give you free arena ticket?

2 tries and no win. Fuck it. Another clown fiesta. I'm gonna draft arena deck with my free ticket and play instead of this shitty brawl xD
One day this game will stop existing. I can't wait.
nefarian needs spell rng so bad. otherwise easy win for ragnaros.
ooo Goodie!

Fun brawl, just like the first time it was released...but is it my imagination or was it rebalanced?
