The fact they only go face makes this about the stupidest brawl ever. Do you have enough early game to kill the opponent's first Party Crasher? If yes, win game. Do you have healing? If yes, win game.
Anybody have an inside scoop saying this is expected behaviour or not?
the game is dependent on silly factors making it unbalanced an uninteresting to play, apart from the fact that I have quests to solve this way.. :(
[you know there are problems when you are not happy when winning - and I have been happy before winning certain RNG-y brawls that were just more than fun enough to play]
I think possibly in essence the problem of this brawl is that there is no true dynamic interaction, the factors mentioned that make a difference to winning or not, although there are a lot of other variations like armorsmiths or buffing your party crashers... that is still not really interactive enough because it still depends on having them or not and there is hardly any creativity or choice involved.
Part of this is the fact that the party crashers are stronger than the cards you can use to fight them, which I'm sure is for a good part by design so that you're really effectively only fighting each other's party crashers but that still corners you entirely.
Blizz should have found an alternative protocol, not sure if it is a party crasher every other turn or just weaker ones like 2/4, or maybe something like jade golem developing stats, idk. You figure it out...
I'm not that jaded (hehe) though, so many of the previous brawls were excellent. :) but this isn't good imo
Yes. Plus, going second is an almost guaranteed win. Every game I went second I won, and I even saw some players conceding to me when they saw I went second. You get the crushers one turn before your opponent which gives you too much of an advantage.

I noticed the same thing and much agree.
P.S. @TT: I initially expected attack of party crashers to be random when I read you cannot control it. This face attacking (I do despise aggro decks) is something I vaguely remember from possibly one of the adventure bosses? I prefer the opposite formats where the taunts actually have to be passed. It should allow for more dynamic solutions because you would be actually fighting through the taunts while this party crasher brawl is a tempo race in a very pure form.
Encounter at the crossroads was always kinda-sorta cool, because it promoted board control and favorable trades and the occasional lucky RNG draws. Party crashers just completely kill this way of play with endless unavoidable smorcage, much like pirate warriors and other mindless face decks.
This can't be an accident by Blizzard and I sincerely believe they're trying to highlight how unfun it is to play against face decks.

You may be on to something with that train of thought. "Party Crasher" is 100% accurate.
Has anybody seen a Party Crasher not go face?

It can't be working as intended; it's complete garbage & utterly broken.
My party crasher was frozen and still went face
