I'm loving this Tavern Brawl, you do get to feel the tournament type pressure on all plays. I haven't yet fought against a Midrange Shaman (or any type of shaman) at all, control decks is all I see, Paladin here, C'thun Warrior there, Fatigue Warrior, even Priest, not only on my matches but on twitch too. I'm really trying to understand all the saltyness on the forums but I can't. I really think this is the best tavern brawl by far. Sure not everyone can afford 10 dlls or 1000 coins, some won't do it so close to a new expansion but I really hope this tournament mode stays. It's really competitive and fun. Way better than playing ladder and even Arena. Good jub Blizzard!

1. 1000 gold is expensive.
2. Brawl is generally a "just for fun" thing for a lot of people. High pressure tournament like play is the polar opposite of what brawls have been and the polar opposite of what some people want.
3. It's just Arena with standard decks, which is just fucking boring for some of us.
4. Would have been more interesting after the MSoG released.
5. I prefer arena, there is still a lot of guess work at what the opponent has available in their deck.
I think it's a good idea. I just don't think it should take place of the brawl.
I think it's a great idea overall but I do think it shouldn't be a tavern brawl - it should be it's own separate tournament mode that sticks around and is available every other week or something

Your 4th point is what i was thinking... It was going to be expectacular if it comes the same day than the expansion
I haven't tried it yet and I don't think I may like it but it is sure a great idea for people who want something more competitive.
I think the fact that it's a tavern brawl is just to test it for some time maybe to see if it would be a great idea to add maybe a tournament mode in hearthstone that could occur like once in a year after ranking players.
One of the best things of tavern brawl is to have fun sure but most importantly is to experience new things (for players and devs) so maybe heroic brawl will be a new way of play later in the future and we'll still have the funny and cool brawls we are used to have.
Anyway, thanks to the hearthstone team for giving new and original content!

Exactly! It's only 1 week. Sure is 1 less free pack, but you got some on World Champion at Blizzcon (well most of us got some). So I think it's worth the risk. 1 less taver brawl for a possible nice new mode.

I don't have any saltiness at all. I'm just never going to buy one even though I have 17,195 gold right now.
It's really expensive and the value is just not there in the rewards. I don't want any more Whispers of the Old Gods packs.
I'll just keep doing my dailies, play the standard ladder, and buy 90 packs of each expansion without shelling out any real cash, thanks.
It's great that you are having fun with this new feature. It's just not for me.
Thanks, yeah I can get it it's not for everyone, but I think your attitude is the one that should rule the forums and all I see is people whining like it's the worst thing ever.

I think tavern brawls are exactly for that, is a mode that Blizzard uses to test stuff up, cards, expansions, adventures had their origin on tavern brawls.

I like the idea but the execution is horrible. There should be a class ban option for sure.
How on earth would that work? Each player makes one deck which cannot be changed over the course of their run. Class bans only work in multi-deck tournament formats.
I think most people are upset because this replaces this week's regular brawl, if this was a separate game mode then it would be better
People are also upset every single week when the Tavern Brawl posts. I've never seen one that didn't have mountains of salt in the comments. So this week is no different than any other week in that respect.
I did midrange mage, expecting it to be filled with shamans. I 2/3 ed , and twice lost to dragon priest. The last thing class I thought I'd see. No shamans. Only got 3 packs. I'll probably do it again once the new set rolls in.

I felt like this is their trial at tournament mode... and if it goes well, potentially a more permanent mode.
I will miss Tavern brawl this week and will only see how people do on YT since I'm not a stream watcher anymore- just don't have the time but can watch 10-15 minute portions during my free times.
1) It's uninteresting since it's simply normal ladder, but you have to pay money for it. I have to admit, I don't really get the tension thing, for me there is enough tension on ladder once you get close enough towards your skill ceiling. But the main appeal of a tournament mode for me is the multi-deck format, not having to pay gold.
2)You're getting 711 gold on average, which means a net loss of ~300 gold on average. And no, that doesn't mean it's only for pros; Even if only pros play against other pros, it'll still be the same loss for them.
And btw, this is different than arena for 1 reasons:
1) In arena you break even at 3 wins, here it's 5 wins, so you actually don't lose anything on average, and even the biggest loss is only about ~30% instead of ~90% like here.
2)In arena, due to being forced to choose between 3 cards, there is generally much more guesswork about which cards the opponents has or hasn't. Here it's the same as ladder: You usually know the opponents deck almost perfectly except for 1-2 tech choices. If not, you're opponent is playing a gimmick deck and you'll probably win anyway.
Imo, this is kind of like taking the bad parts of arena and ladder, amplify them, and then on top of that you take away the tavern brawl for the week.
Entitled fools mad that they don't get their "free" pack...
Personally I'm pumped. Watching streamers already has me excited. About to meet up with best friend and little brother and we are all going to take turns playing! Can't wait!
I love the idea of this brawl and i would love to see this becoming its own gamemode but that's the problem, this should have been a separate thing and not tried out through the brawl because it just takes away the idea of the brawl.

I'm not interested in heroic brawls, but it's nice to hear that there are people who enjoy it. Something for everyone.

It should have option to do normal or heroic brawl, so no one missing the brawl week.

The fact that Blizzard is removing normal brawl just so that they can ''try out'' Heroic Brawl...just shows how Lazy and inconsiderable they are.
