I thought this was running parallel with the regular tavern brawl. This is crap. I'm casual f2p player, and it's not for me so that means I'm just going to play this game even less. I'm alrdy starting to cut back, I've missed several quests over the past couple week and I usually hit every single one. Oh well, I'm getting tired of HS anyways.
Second 12-win tonight. This is #Valuetown right here.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Look, I want to tell you something because you're very dear to me. And I hope you understand that it comes from the bottom of my damaged, damaged heart. You are the finest piece of ass I've ever had and I don't care who knows it. I am so glad that I got to roam those hillsides.
I took the safest approach (picking the most polarised deck - winrate-wise - Freeze Mage), and was not disappointed at all. I actually had crazy amounts of fun during the brawl. The games were intense and most of my opponents played tournament levels of Hearthstone. For once, the results were actually dictated by skill and the 12/3 format let me retain enough composure so that I could play all my games making little to no misplays.
I ended up going 7-3 which I consider a fair result and actually a better one than expected.
My losses were fair most of the time. I had the craziest game against dragon Priest, being able to deal 29 damage in one turn. And I 'almost' won against control warrior, leaving him at 6 hp (....aaaaand then he was back at 20 :P).
Overall I'm happier with the brawl than I thought I would be.
My only remark would be that, while I get that the house always wins, the 'considerable' prizes (compared to the entry fee) should start at around 6 wins as it's equivalent to a 66% winrate, which in constructed is considered pretty good.
Why? I thought they were going to wait until the MSG got released...
I don't understand the timing of this either and certainly don't understand the rewards. Why not have a 'when MSG comes out you get x numbers of decks' reward rather then old WotOG packs?
Comes off as 'lets bleed off gold before MSG comes out so they have to use money to get packs' stunt.
I was pretty excited having started 4-1 with Tempo Warrior then:
Meh, pretty disappointing afterall, since I started 4-1 and hen 2 straight losses. I swear my two losses vs Control Warrior was me with 2 minions, and him with Cairne. Then Brawl and Cairne survived intact. The Secret Hunter one was "fair" as fair as getting no whirlwind effects can be.
Nearly everyone would be motivated by a giant bonus (a handful might not) and as long as people are governed by greed...people in decision-making roles will make decisions that benefit themselves over staff or customers first, but in this case...Blizzard is merely capitalizing on the bone-heads who like to gamble on big rewards...they're taking a lesson from Vegas...that city was built on the money from bone-heads who like big rewards.
So in this case...no one is likely to be taking home a giant bonus...they're just copying the success of Vegas...so the Heroic Tavern Brawl is pure genius except for the fact that it is only temporary, but I'm sure it will return after they see the response.
You know who else capitalizes on bone-heads? Con artists. Swindlers. Scammers.
You're right...you know the ol' saying..."a sucker is born every minute"...which is why Blizzard is a genius for capitalizing on the gamblers out there, but that doesn't mean all of Vegas (or Blizzard for that matter) is a con artist or a swindler or a scammer. No one's got a gun to the gamblers head and making them step up to the one-armed bandits...they come willingly like sheep to the slaughter.
Sean Plott isn't milking this tavern brawl and I can respect him for that. He did just one stream about it.
I'm pretty sure Blizzard thought that the streamers will want to milk the heroic tavern brawl, so that they can sucker in their viewers to try it out too.
There are already people who justify spending thousands on Hearthstone per month and they're not even playing in any tournaments, etc. Well, if they have steady income to afford it etc, whatever but there are many cases that are such addicts they spend beyond their means to this game. Now they hang carrot in front of them with even higher stakes.
So they raised cap to 100 tries. 100 * 10 = 1000. Not exact numbers but you get the idea. Some popular streamer spending hundreds a week to this game isn't a problem since when they do their pack opening events, they earn more than they spend.

To which he said at the end he has no more entries, then on his usual decktackular the next day the description also mentions being out of entries (and he says in the beginning of it he would play if he had more entries), followed by his usual Friday format of a different game and then Heroes of the Storm for some promotional thing with Overwatch. If he had the chance he would have played it and not to milk it, but because he likes it as he mentioned before many times. He also gave a nice little rant about people like you who attach motives to people who are just doing what they want because they enjoy it. And guess what? The streamers who are still playing it probably like it too. Do you really think Blizzard is paying them per viewer that plays lol. It's the other way around, they are paying for the fun of doing the brawl. It's really not that hard of a concept.
first run, 12-2 with shaman
8 of 14 games were vs the same shaman deck

You have to be a pretty good player or have a lot of luck :P , either way Congrats!
I went for one brawl just to check it out.

step 1: Get people spend all their gold on useless brawl.
step 2: Release new expansion, and get cash flowing in from players with no gold!
Here is the link to the my 12 wins in Heroic Brawl with Renolock with Dreadsteed N'Zoth. Link to the video of my last game and prizes is there.

Well, I did do the best analysis that I could with the extreme lack of data on the results of the Heroic Brawl

I personally didn't play this one although I think that the idea is great but the execution was horrible.
