So can we actually do this with battlenet friends and talk to each other, while still being eligible to complete daily quests? Or is it just randoms only again?
Both sides need to buff the legendary minion that can get a divine shield when it receives spells(I forget the name). Get minions on the board helps too to suck up damage.
Mostly, you need luck in finding a random person who gets the idea too.
Just so everyone knows, stoneskin gargoyle for some reason doesn't get damaged by nef's aoe. If you stack all the buffs on it it's an easy win. This might be a bug, but I don't know if they will hotfix it.
Quoted for Truth but it was a LOT of fun. Won my first try without knowing any of the mechanics of the fight. Had no idea there were going to be TWO board clears (one does 30 damage to everything and heals boss for 30). I think I got rather lucky with my random partner- s/he was pretty smart with card choices and order.
Won first time, priest has to buff the shaman's minions. Use sideshow spelleater as shaman after the priest plays Justicar.
The lightbane sister was MVP and the windlord buffed was the finisher. Priest was on fatigue at the end.
Same here and smart move by my shaman to copy the priest 4 heal as well. though we just used random buffed shaman minions with double attack for a lot of the damage.. than the priest minion that gains +1+1 for every card played (on either side) was the closer with a divine health to keep him alive.
Hard fought battle, especially since I went in blind not knowing what Nefarian would do. Was almost a win when I was ready to do an Inner Fire + giant Fjola Lightbane + Windfury KO, but Nefarian used the "blow everyone up" spell. Still, it was a win in the end, with a gigantic Brann Brozebeard delivering the final blow.
I got lucky with my Priest partner who seemed to have a reasonable clue about the game. That last board clear of 30 damage/30 heal is a pisser.
There's a few different approaches here. The minion that you can get on either side that gains +1 +1 whenever anyone plays a card is very handy in the latter stage of the game, get them up to a bunch of damage and at least more than 10 hps left and Windfury to deal a LOT of damage in one shot to Nef. It's also handy to have Bolf Ramshields out for both players and buff the heck out of that.
Can be a frustrating brawl if your partner isn't too bright. Played my first game with a priest that insisted on wasting buff cards on worthless minions (inner fire on validated doomsayer, for instance). I don't think he was trolling, I just think he's a newbie that didn't know better. I played very conservatively until priest went fatigue, then popped bloodlust on the final turn with a near-full board to finish him off. Big MVP for me was the Intrepid Dragonstalker since it could scale without the priest being useful.
Played it twice once as Shaman and Priest and won both times. Priest seems to be the more difficult class to play. This mode would be far more fun if it counted with friends as you try and organize great plays rather than spam your mouse hovering over the minion you want the other player to buff and use the emote thank you and over and over.
Even if they didn't make a chat for this mode as that would cause a number of issues I would like for them to change the emotes to stuff like: Strengthen/Target This (Use this emote with mouseover to help signal to your team mate what you want buffed/copied), Just wait for next my next turn it will be great (to signal you need to make the play first or have something to add to the play so it's better for your teammate to wait), I need more mana (to signal you want more mana next turn and so you team mate can play Arcane Golem if they have one. As well a I need more cards to signal your hand is dead and thus you would like your team mate to help draw you cards. A final emote could be I need healing in case your team mate is unaware that you are at 5 hp and might die. You could also keep the greetings/thank you emote as they are the only emotes you use in this mode anyway.

Nefarian Rises!
Join forces with a friend to take down Nefarian. Again. Anduin teams up with newcomer Morgl in this new cooperative Tavern Brawl!
Well I do have a priest and brawl quest. So, this should be doable. Even though it will probably be painful.
I love these! I may be a minority who liked the mechazod fight. They're hard, but I like using the strengths of two classes to fight one boss.

Morgl? So Nef will be like:
"SHAMAN! Murlocs obey me now"?
3/3 - Heroic dungeons
9/9 - Golden Heroes
540 - Total level
How the flying fuck are you supposed to win this thing?
Noice.
it takes 30 minutes.

I enjoy.
Voted 3 on the balance because it just seemed a little too easy, but I guess it helps to have 2 good players.
Won on first attempt. Its not that tough but it takes forever.

Thanks devon1409, whoever you are.
If you got the coin, the Mercenaries get going. Vote for The Mercenary for CCC #3.

Also, Raid Healer. Yum.
At least here shamans can't go face. Thanks, Blizzard. For the first time im not shivering after seeing Morgl.
