Wait what? I was sure that they would do something crazy with the new expansion out.. but it seems they want to make it simple this time cause the expasion was huge.
It's simple: many people aren't focused on tavern brawl simply because they play the new expansion. So they only add repeats.
Tavern brawl is something like a gap filler. It's nice when the last expansion got already boring-ish and the next expansion will take a while. But for now adding a new exiting tavern brawl would be not good, as long as the meta is still fresh and interresting.
They obviously are trying to steer people into playing the regular game modes where they will be frustrated with the power of new cards and start buying some of their own. Excited for next week's Tavern Brawl where the exciting twist on the Too Many Portals brawl is that all animations go in slow motion and turns are extended to 6 minutes each side!
Damn, I was hoping it'd be a new brawl or at least one of the interesting old ones. Personally, this must be the second most boring brawl beaten in that regard only by the mechazod brawl. Well, gonna have to find a new way to farm gold this week :<
Well I'll agree that this is the second most boring brawl Mecahzod was not the first... loved that brawl.
Mechazod brawl is not only the best brawl, but the best part of this entire game.
do I have to kill a spider with a spider? and why. it tortures me from the very beginning of tavern brawls
wow, I found the answer:
After playing a few matches I realized the following:
At the start, use webspinners to go for face. Your opponent will either trade webspinners (doing your job for you) or also go for face, which evens out.
Use webspinners to attack his OTHER summons. NEVER attack webspinner against webspinner unless you ABSOLUTELY have to (ex: you have no cards, and he only has webspinners). Even attacking a 6/6 with a webspinner is better because it doesn't give your opponent another summon.
In the end you are playing against RNG and what minions your opponent gets from webspinner, NOT the actual webspinners.
Save your spells and your coins as long as you can because the webspinner summons seem to get progressively stornger (might just be a coincidence though since some people post screenshots of early 7-mana or 8-mana cards)
Awful brawl, I tried really hard to get into it by playing a lot of games and it just wasn't any fun, I won 1 out of 11, I'm sat there with silverbacks and stonetusks in my hand while my opponent is dropping Highmanes on turn 6/7 and (in most of my games) King Krush on turn 9.

That's terrible answer. Webspinners are main draw engine in this game, so you want to pop them at start of your turn, then you have more choises for the rest of your turn. Another very good reason to trade is, that Scavenging Hyena is a card. If face player gets hyena, they're getting it on opponent's turn and they have empty field on their turn. If trading player gets it, it's their turn so they can play it, keep trading rest of the Webspinners and have huge hyena after trading. Also later in game Mukla's Champion + heropower is game winning, if you let your opponent have 6 minions on board. There is no need to get rekt by these cards. Just keep opponent's board empty.
Another boring brawl. Guess Blizz put all their time and effort into making sure the WotOG rollout wasn't a massive mess. Was really hoping for something that showcased the Old Gods cards...

You didn't get it. You can't rely on a chance to have Hyena, Mukla's Champ or something like this. Besides, the advice is to kill your own webspinners, not the enemy ones, it is not GO SMOrc people.
The situation you described is possible though. So there're few strategies obviously. And any of them will crash to RNGod of the game.
Maybe new beasts will rescue this one, was not my favorite. Any early feedback, do the new cards help this one?
Make the Card: The biggest thread on the site!
My mandibles which are capable of pressing down and tearing, my talons which are known to intercept and hold.

Wow. 35 dust on this one. 2 Rares, I got a . . . Master of Disguise!
Oh, wait. 135 dust.
1 game, 1 win, 40 dust and a completed daily, and now I don't have to play this annoying brawl again (until they bring it back yet another time).

Played against priest. Filled board with webspinners. Priest got mass dispel from RNG. Thanks blizzard!
Got 4 Murloc Crabs on 6 spiders activation, my opponent got 2 Huhuran. What a fun and interesting Brawl.
1/10, the rng is at my opponent always and no skill required, just pure luck
Playing since 1 June 2014.
