One of the key cards I included in the deck is Fallen Hero. Aside from being a decent card on its own, it's particularly good in this Tavern Brawl due to the fact that the 2-mana minions you can play in this Brawl are usually 3/2. If you get Fallen Hero on 2 mana and your opponent doesn't have spell or weapon removal, they can't challenge it with another minion. Perhaps Fallen Hero can provide a suitable replacement for Mad Scientist in the Standard format.
Most of the rest of the deck is pretty standard. Toshley and Rhonin are used in this deck with great effect to provide 1-mana spells to trigger Archmage Antonidas. Also, Bloodmage Thalnos can be used in conjunction with Blizzard to clear Patrons, or just for some extra burst.
Best Tavern Brawl so far. I've seen lots of creative decks from my opponents too. Lots of fun cards have been released since the original Challengestone, so there's fun to be had!
There are so many key cards that aren't playable - no Reno, no Shredder, no Grand Champion, no Unleash the Hounds, no Savage Roar - it creates a whole new meta game, yet ISN'T 99% RNG. It's a true deck-building challenge.
So happy with this brawl. I'll be playing it a ton.
What the fuck is this bullshit brawl seriously. Each week I say to mysef "this is the shittiest brawl ever, we've hit rock bottom" and each week Blizztard proves me that, no, they can shit something even worse.
Seriously, this brawl sucks so much that I won't even keep playing for the free pack. I'll wait for next week and hope they come up with a better brawl, but I bet the next one will suck just as much.
Yeah, I know people have already posted many get-your-free-pack decks, but all these are full of expensive cards I don't have and can"t obtain because I am f2p. Tavern Brawls were supposed to be here to level the playing field between the f2ps and p2ws. It's no longer the case I see. They could at least have made something funny. A brawl with such stupid card restrictions is all but funny.
EDIT: So apparently this brawl has already been made before. Why the fuck did Blizztard released it again despite how obviously bad it is ?

you dont need any expensive cards
You just need to think about what sort of cards are missing and build a deck with that in mind. Lots of things work very well, low budget mage for instance.
Got wins with basic mage and needs just a few good cards added to have a pretty decent deck. Get a mana wyrm and wild pyro + acolyte for card draw and add decent tempo cards and your basic mage spells and you're okay.
i just played 1 match, got my pack, called it a day and logged off. But for how well my enemy went on the beginning of the match i am too curious and need to ask, is this brawl being massively dominated by mech mages?
I hate this brawl, I mean it doesn't compare the other creative brawls they've made. I'd much rather have a discover brawl, or even the chicken one. This one is just boring, no offence to people who like it.
Boring and uninspired. The designers really phoned this one in. Here is the entire 'deckbuilding' process:
Fill your deck with the best value cards on curve, ignoring any synergy, combo, or the like.
That's it. You won't find anything creative, just the typical value minions and spells from the odd pool of available cards. The upside is new players can participate, the downside is they may get bored and quit the game.

Rarely replay constructed Brawls, but having a good time with this one. Tried a hybrid Shaman and fairly sleepy Priest which were ok. Astral Communion works as well as usual but is less than half the fun with half of the cool big minions. Finally moved to Warlock and saw that all of the tools are still there to have some fun with Danksteed: Voidcaller, Rivendare, Sac Pact, Mal'Ganis, and pretty much every other worthwhile Demonlock card.

I just used a modified Oil Rogue, worked great. Didn't need Prep without Sprint, so just filled in the slots with more 2-drops.

Ah, if only Hobgoblin had odd attack, I'd make a Hobgoblin deck for this. :D

This is awesome
Here's the tempo mage list I'm using for this Brawl. I'm currently 5-1 with this deck.

The best thing about this brawl is Bolvar Fordragon, concede.

How can people not like this one? It's AWESOME.

Stupid, boring, hate it.

Anyone trying to play druid but missing Druid of the Claw, let alone any druid 5 drop, from their options?

Seems okay to me--sort of interesting. Fun to win with some shitty demon deck with two Pit Lords in it.
Face Huntered it and won one turn 5 (started with coin)
Not very exciting brawl but it's not super vadd either, just meh.
Meh indeed - one win & done.
Oblivion!
