This is strangely a great control brawl. I've had a ton of success with an animated armor tempo mage list (4-0). I've seen a few really cool Shaman lists as well that use things like manatide, flametongue, and that one healing totem. Seriously a great brawl.
I just won my very first try with a Priest deck. What won it? Micro Machine turn one off the coin.
Yes, your opponent can still kill it with a spell. Yes, it's still very good in this brawl. My opponent did eventually find an answer, but by then I already had him down too low for him to catch up.
Only played a few games, but Bloodlust is pretty good, because it tends to be hard to regulate the board. I've won a few because people don't realize that I can attack through big Taunt dudes. I'm assuming that this won't work at higher levels, but I mostly just played for the pack anyways.

Yeah, totem Shaman is actually not bad because they're a little tougher to get rid of. Fortunately, I had my Fallen Hero ready....
Board clears are so much more valuable than normal, making priest and mage (possibly shaman, but I dont have Elemental Destruction) the winners of this brawl for me. Hunter is decent with multi target removal. Other classes are simply... bad. Mage seems the best because it is the only class that can target minions with their hero power now.
RENOLOCK! This deck is so underrated in this brawl and in this version you an replace your taunts with more healing and more spells as Drain Life. You have demonwraith, hellfire and shadowflame and a lot of single target removal. This deck is undefeated so far and it had some tough matchups.
Betrayer... In truth, it was I who was betrayed. Still, I am hunted. Still, I am hated. Now, my blind eyes see what others cannot: that sometimes the hand of fate must be forced! Now go forth... unleash the tides of Doom... Upon all those...who would oppose us.
I finally won with a Shaman deck, after like 6 tries. Didn't really like this brawl, but maybe its a tiein to a new expansion, such as giving the opposing hero Taunt so you can ignore his taunt minions for lethal.
Am I allowed to hate if just because it made me beloved Handlock irrelevant by doing everything it did but better cause of Reno? :(
I probably will hate it less once I have grinded the gold after the expo hits for LoE but for now its caused me to just not play hearthstone for anything more than quests ;-;
Yeah, I'm certain mage is completely OP now. Not only do they have the best hero power for the brawl, but with Frost Nova and Blizzard, you can basicly let your opponent skip 4 turns in a row, all you need is a couple of minions to stick. I did this in dragon mage and it is insane. I value freeze cards over Animated Armor, to be honest. It's not like that card is hard to deal with if you play anything but a face deck.
Also, has anyone considered Sparring Partner in warrior, seems to me like it should be above average?
You can tell a lot about a player from their first attempt at building a deck for this brawl.
Players who interpreted the rules as "Taunt minions can't protect your hero." have missed the point. For me, this brawl is all about the fact that minions are much harder to kill than usual.
Effectively, this Brawl is Hearthstone : the Gathering. As per Magic, Minions can't be targeted by other minions. Thus, you can more reliably build board states where minion combos are possible and also minions which require a few turns to go broken can prosper e.g. Micro Machine. Similarly, Inspire gets a chance to shine in this Brawl as you have more chance of getting multiple uses of the inspire effect.
As a consequence, anti-minion spells are at a premium, as are Silence effects.
I am having a great time with this brawl. I began with a classic Face Shaman to have the free pack, then tried to deck build something to test my skills.
As mentioned before, board clears, silence and heals/anti-aggro tech choices are key points. Animated Armor coupled with Echo of Medivh are a pain, but so far as long as I draw enough silences and the mandatory Healing Wave to last enough turns, it is ok. The games are fast so you can try a lot of things against many decks.
Here is what I came up with starting from a face Shaman: more windfury, less overload. I tested Thunder Bluff Valiant and Vitality Totem but they are too slow. I will try to add Doomhammer, I did not test it again after replacing it by the other windfury cards.

Well, mabey he was just a bad player or had a other kind of deck, i just find renolock to be amazing and hilarious in this brawl.

Dumbshit McHunter's wet dream. This Brawl will melt people's brains, lol.

Last 10 games:
6 hunters (with charge and secrets).
2 paladins (both secrets and mysterious challenger).
2 mage (freeze and mech).
Least fun brawl.

The classic tier: Reno Jackson | Elise Starseeker | Brann Bronzebeard.
