Brawls are not meant to be balanced, and some of them will be biased towards people with larger collections. If you don't like this brawl then just wait till next week for the next one.
At least the games are short, past brawls were much more frustrating (like the one with the buffs for deathrattle, spells, battlecry or a 1/1 every turn). You can win in this brawl by getting a nut draw and you can also get alextrazad on turn one. To be honest this is one of the most fun brawls (even though the pirate brawl is my favourite so far).
The most OP and annoying combos are done using Muklas Champion, Stormwind and being a druid. All of those things cost relatively little. Yes, there is the "Alex+Ragnaros" combo, but fortunately, people playing with it win 1 game and go away, since they are clearly not there to have any fun.
I suggest thinking outside of the box here, I've had lots of fun with weird combos. Played most of the games with Majordomo+Coldarra+Maiden deck for epic turn 10 machinegun (Thaurissian helps there too) but guess what - this relatively hard to construct deck loses to Mukla+Stormwind token druid like, 80% of the time.
I really hate this brawl, a new f2p player can't really compete in it. Normally I wouldn't care, I just wouldn't play it, but I got stuck with the win 5 brawls quest (already rerolled it from win with X class that I dont have cards for). It's nothing but mill rogues and mages. I don't have the cards to build even the cheapest decks I found online, so yah, this Brawl is garbage. :/

What are you smoking? This brawl is all about OTKs centered around Alex and Malygos. The worst one is Alex-Coin-Malygos-Prep-Evis-Prep-Evis. Turn 1, 38 dmg to face... Do your cute minion buffs all day, but miracle can draw 15 cards in 4 turns while clearing your board...
I did lose to a mage running ice blocks and echo, though, but my point still stands, he probably ran maly+alex as well...
It is unforgiveable that a company like Blizzard would release content that favours money-bags players over freeloaders.
They may as well hire accountants to design the next expansion.
It seems that Blizzard are hell-bent on turning this game in to something that is no better than all of the off-the-shelf computer games that people pay for.
Use your brain for two minutes. There are tons of commons and rares that are great for the Brawl. A Mage with cheap AOE spells, secrets, and Ethereal Arcanist is pretty awesome. Questing Adventurer in any class, Scavenging Hyena + Unleash the Hounds in Hunter, Shaman with Unbound Elemental and all its Totem buffs. Then of course Owls to take away enemy buffs.
The Brawl is really about buffs, card draw, and silence/AoE removal. Sure some people will be able to build quick win combo decks with legendaries, but not everybody has them, and they will not get drawn into every game.

Well, a new player who isn't spending money is at the mercy of randomness when it comes to cards. The cards I do craft go toward building at least one decent deck. There isn't any left over to make cards specifically for a brawl each week. Basically, you have to keep playing and hope you're luckier than the opponent, which isn't really a good design. I got some wins with druid spamming out minions with frostwolf + mark, but it's hardly reliable.
I know it's just a weekly brawl, I just wish there wasn't a quest specifically to win brawls, it's making trying to collect the daily gold a huge pain in the ass.
I think brawl is about being creative with what you have. Some legendaries does help a little on this instance, like Onyxia, Dr.Boom, and Baron Geddon. But it is so easy to board clear with bog standard cards that they don't really make a massive impact.
I'm enjoying it a lot and my best games haven't involved any random to get legendaries. (I use Brann and Nefarian, which are from adventures)
I've just had a game with Rumbling Elemental and 2 Ancient Brewmaster bouncing back and forth from my hand. Pinging for 2 for every mana I've got haha.
The power card for this brawl is Hobgoblin and he's an epic. There's also Knife Juggler who is just a rare. I don't think the brawl is broken. Sure if you play a Malygos deck you'll probably win, but brawls are for fun and I'm sure there are people out there who has a Malygos but doesn't play it coz it would be no fun.
The rumbling elemental combo is a nice one indeed, however, you still need to buy the adventure, so new F2P players won't be able to access it. To lose only because the opponent has certain legendaries is just so not fun in my opinion.
The brawl is perfect for F2P accounts. You can smash people that play expensive minions by just playing good cheap common cards. Try somehting like this:
Tried it in brawl for several matches and won about 50%. Add any awesome rare/mythic/legendary you DO have and you are set.
I was skeptic of the brawl at first, but it is actually quite a decent concept this week. Better then the complete RNG fests we had in the past...
You haven't died on turn 2 yet, have you? And it feels really really bad if you lose multiple games in a row, only because of some ridiculous legendary combos and it doesn't even matter how well you played. I had some success with my basic-only deck (Zero Cost Mage TB), but the losses felt just so wrong.

Horrible advice. Also why not complain when you disagree with something? What's wrong with that? What's the logic of self censorship when you are strongly disagreeing with something? Why suffer? Why not let it out?
A better advice would be to find yourself another game so you don't end up like the guy in the picture, waiting. :D
Every single week people complain about tavern brawl. EVERY SINGLE WEEK. You can't please everyone all of the time, that's just impossible. I'm tired of people thinking they need to "fix" each and every tavern brawl. Some tavern brawls could use a little help, but they are not meant to be fair or balanced, and the sooner that people learn this the better. If you want to vent your anger about tavern brawl that is your right, just like it is my right to vent my anger about these threads that pop up every week that complain about the balance in tavern brawl when tavern brawl was never meant to be balanced.
Also, there was nothing "horrible" about my advice. Is it not true that if you wait a week the tavern brawl will be different?

I am a 100% free player and has been enjoying this brawl.

This brawl is brutal for newer F2P players as it is right now.
If this brawl gets repeated in the future the following changes would make it more enjoyable for newer F2P players, at least in my opinion:
All minions are 1/1s is a nice thing, however, the minion cost should have been modified by rarity:
- common/basic cards cost only 1 mana,
- rare cost 2,
- epic cost 3,
- legendaries 4
no more turn 2 death and the tradeoff for using higher rarity minions is interesting by itself (board control vs. effect value)
EDIT: saltiness reduced

Brawl doesn't need to be balanced, it only lasts a week
If it helps, the current miniature warfare brawl will be fixed in about four days.
The point of brawl is to play things you normally wouldnt be able to.
I had no issues with this and I have literally no legendaries except for the ones you get from the adventures, and barely any rares or epics.

I actually really hate this brawl. It's not fun, and it's ONLY fun for people who have the 10000 dust combo decks.
Hi! I'm Shadow!(NukePie :3 )
I like hearthstone, but i'm not very good, nor do i have many cards, but i'm working on it! :D

There are so many common cards that are insanely good in this brawl.

If they were to do this brawl again (and I sure hope they do, I love these absurd brawls) then yeah, they might need to put in a few extra constraint.
But right now, who cares if it's busted wide open? That's clearly what they intended to do.
