so I play hearthstone daily, and I run into a lot of a level beyond god ki rng players, and I even have the honor of playing against a handful of hackers, and modders, like for example I played against a shaman player, by the name of [MOD EDIT: No Naming and Shaming] who hacked my excavation count and reset it back to common, despite just playing the three cost three seven with reborn only for me to excavate which should have given me the five cost legendary beast rouge five five, but to my surprise it wasn't I was granted with the two coins one cost spell, so my question is how does one mod and or hack hearthstone like my shaman opponent did and does the report function actually work? if so how does it work? because I am never notified of anything like an email about how my recent support was verified and the player was found to be modding or hacking the game and we took action against them and thanking me for making hearthstone a better gaming experience for others, like valorant does
First of all: Naming people here is is greatly frowned upon and (i think) against forum rules (edit the shaman name out).
second: How do you know that this isn't a bug? Wouldn't that be 100x more likely that the excavate counter was coded like.... most of HS?
Third: Surely there are hacks/mods but the known ones are skipping animations. You could probably find a way to look at your deck order or opponents hand, but tricking the excavate counter is probably the most creative "hack" I've heard of.
Fourth: Play 100 games and you'll notice some very lucky opponents that easily could have ben luckier and probably had their finisher in hand much longer than you think. You'll also have 90+ less lucky opponents that you forget.
But at the end of the day, who knows? Hope you're still having fun
I think hacks and irregularities are quickly auto-identified and banned. I don't think they are common at all. What is common is people not understanding the game mechanics. It's possible, for example, that you didn't have space in your hand to play the azerite scorpion and it got burned. Got a replay to back your claims? Happy to watch. There are always threads from people not understanding what just happened, and they are quick to jump on the hacker wagon.
Worst thing I ever encountered was players who would wait until rope was halfway burned, then drop like 20 plays in rapid sequence. By the time they finished their animations and such, when my turn came, it's instantly ended. I got locked out of playing a few times using this method
That should be reported because something is bugged if that happens. A long time ago they supposedly fixed this issue to not skip your turn after DisguisedToast highlighted a way to do that (and temp banned him for showcasing the exploit).
Supposedly the timer on your turn should not start until animations are done on your end. However, it could be bugged based on a specific animation, or maybe it only waits so long before starting your timer. You’d think with Shudderwock still being played in Wild they’d be equipped to handle 20 min animations. Either way, in the past they’ve worked to fix this issue. If it ever happens, file a ticket.
Your opponent did not reset your excavation counter. You mentioned you played rogue, I assume you changed your class using Maestra card. Your class and excavations are tied to your hero, if you swaped to class with no legendary excavations then you will not recieve 4th excavation and instead start from tier 1. If you would swap to Warclock hero you would recieve Warlock legendary excavation reward for example but not all class have excavation legendary.
We do not allow threads like this discussing ways to mod or hack Hearthstone.
If you suspect foul play while in game, report things to Blizzard because they can actually do something about it.
CLOSED.
If you see a bad post on the forum use the report function under it, so I or someone else of the moderation team can take care of it!
