I was one win from legend three times with mining paladin, but every time I get matched with hunter bots because that's the hardest deck to beat with my deck. Then after a few games trying different decks, like plague DK and Highlander Warrior, I get thrown back to Diamond 3 after losing against every hunter and warlock I faced, and there was a lot of them(with the exception of one warlock where I could remove his portal with Reno).
So I finally caved in and crafted an aggro hunter, but then of course I get matched with shaman bots who go face with spells or have insane rng with battlecries. Didn't improve my winrate at all. If this was blizzard's idea of motivating player they are so wrong. While it might keep you in the game longer it also makes you give up after realising there is no way to legend without insane luck, because no matter what deck you choose, you will always face opponents you can't beat, and it's not about skill anymore. It's about who has the best or right deck for the encounter and some rng with card draws.
So far in this meta I've been looking at winrates at Hearthstone Meta Stats, but they don't seem quite right. So I'm asking what are some solid decks to play that won't get steamrolled? I'm close to giving up since legend is probably not worth all the pain it takes to get there. Right now it feels like I'm playing more for revenge than actually climbing the ladder.
Try this. I used it D5 to legend and continue climbing in legend. Incredibly consistent and just shits on paladins and warlocks. Very cheap, so if you dont like it, you dont miss much
I mean, you're losing to decks you should counter. You should be beating nature shaman as hunter. You should also generally be beating hunter as warrior.
It sounds like your problem is that you don't play a deck consistently enough to get good enough at it (for Legend). Pick a strong deck that is favourable against the meta you are seeing and stick with it, hunter is probably a safe bet.
I find that in every new rotation, unless there is a clearly busted deck out there (which isn't the case now), climbing is easier if you stick to one deck and try to master it than if you hop on new and unrefined decks, especially while you're near legend.
Learn one deck well. Try to figure out if it needs any changes, or if you're not into deckbuilding try and find different versions of the same deck and work out which one is best for you.
If you are getting that close to legendary but you won't make it just yet, just look for betterments in your deck, don't just copy what everyone else is playing.
I'm currently playing Zarimi dragon priest but changed 4 cards in the popular deck, which made my winrate go up by a lot. Currently playing at Diamond 3 but I don't play a lot and came from Bronze. I have 3 more days to get to legendary and feel it's going to be an easy run.
The meta is kinda garbage right now. Only 3 archetype matters :
Hunter
Paladin
Warrior.
And it's a rock paper scissor. Paladin beats warrior, warrior beats hunter, Hunter beats paladin.
Hunter and paladin are so busted they beat almost everything else. (control warrior is beatable, but it's just the least problematic out of the 3).
Sure there are other decks out there, like rainbow DK, Nature shaman,Razakus/dragon priest, highlander/tempo DH, whatever else... But they don't matter, since they lose to at least 2 out of the three above.
EDIT : Personaly, I think Hunter is also beatable with an anti aggro build, but those builds tend to lose to the OTKs from Paladin, shaman and Warrior, so they are not a viable option).

Since i made this post i found out that aggro paladin (not handbuff) is actually busted. Play it before it gets nerfed hard.

Hearthstone has been on the decline for a while. It is no longer a game, it is now just a blizzard cash grab. Hence - nostalgia xpac.

I honestly hope it dies.

they're gonna ruin this deck :(

I can't argue with this game being more about cash grab since Ben left. However his game is cash grab too now haha.

Links his own off-meta deck lmao
It's a week since rotation. There is no meta and off-meta.
Or do you think that only "pro players" can build good decks?
