I have seen no one complaining about Hunter in Standard. Hunter is not the most played deck.
However, i almost never win against Hunter.
He has total early board control, and then he floods the board with huge rush and charge minions in the mid-game and late game, and he usually gets them through mana-cheating discovers. If a Hunter plays Lorthemar, I just concede.
I'm just surprised that only see Hunter about 30% of the time.
I find that board-based decks really struggle against it. Traditionally, this was a good counter to Hunter, since one of the class’s weaknesses was lack of AOE (explosive trap being the main exception). Now with Star Power though, it gives the class a wildly powerful and efficient card that mitigates this weakness. (I’m a little surprised to not have seen more conversation around this card on the forum.)
Hollow hound billion times better than star power tho but yeah crazy AoE/heals, Hunter is just broken rn and the class identity is done.
The class identity is still there. Yes, traditionally, Hunter is known to go face with Aggro minions, cheap cards, and such.. Large portion of players actually want to play the big-cost beasts and late game values instead. Hunter can only go late games by having board control from early to mid games. Historically pre-2020, it was very hard for the class to have any slower decks or any archetype different than Face Hunter... But we are in 2023, no classes stick to their own defined identity these days.
One thing I agree that Hunter should not have access to is healing and AoE. They can have board Rush control early and mid game with all their beasts, but they should not have access to cards such as Star Power or Hollow Hounds (Rush is fine but not Lifesteal)

Hunter is very powerful, it's the best deck from bronze to diamond. The best counter is Enrage Warrior.
English is not my native language, so, with a high probability, mistakes were made.
I've done well against it with secret mage.
