I fought a mech mage that dumped 4 sharks plus 2 lobsters in one turn. That one really really hurt. I managed to wipe plus drop spice makers though and came back from it
It's really good at low level. Once you start facing good players and decks it becomes garbage.
Are you sure? Stats suggest otherwise.
VS podcast says it's beating janky renathal decks at lower levels, while it drops in legend. The deck has zero player agency and you get rolled over by any decent player.

You exaggerate an already exaggerated opinion. Define "decent player". Is it top-200 legend player for you? Mech mage has a low skill cap and will be worse over time when junky decks die out, but not that dramatically. It will be worse mainly at top legend. It was a tier 2 deck with a positive winrate at top 1k legend before Renathal and tier 1 deck everywhere else, legend included. Tier 2 deck is not trash by any means. Dropping 1.5% winrate between top 1k legend and legend categories is not what guy who got back to HS a few days ago should care, it would be one of the best decks where he is playing. Last month I easily climbed to top 1.5k legend with it (I didn't play any further). The only way it would be bad is if Shamans and Big-Beast Hunter will completely dominate the format.

I said it's great at lower mmr. But the skill ceiling is so low, one completely depends on draw and the opponent's plays, just to average out. Which means, if you misplay often, then even worse for you. Such lower skill or a new player trying to get to higher more efficient level with this deck is almost certainly going to be disappointed. Of course, if you are a solid player, you'll do fine.
Regarding that VS tab, I'm not sure it's telling us the whole story. How things will trend once bad unrefined decks disappear? It's better to wait for data interpretation in the report.

“Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.”
I got back into HS a few days ago and am trying my luck with Mech Mage because I`ve read that its pretty good.
My problem is that almost every enemy I play against is able to clear my board constantly, doesn`t matter if it`s a Druid, Warlock another Mage etc.
Am I missing something or is Mech Mage just not as good as everybody says?
There are many control decks around since the arrival of Prince Renethal. That's pretty much the reason why aggro isn't that effective at the moment.

Rely more on shark turns post-discount instead of just vomiting every turn. Depends a lot on matchup.

Don't overcommit, don't use sharks until you can deal a ton of face damage with them, learn your opponents.
