im a priest main and only player, and the only thing good is boar priest. once you manage to play it well is unbeatable, i've been winning like crazy to every deck except mill priest (lol) but ONE MISTAKE and you lose.. so is a looooot of practice
is a really fun deck once you know how to play it. I hope to get to leyend this season with it... currently on diamond, with winning strike

This is exactly the attitude I’m talking about. The idea that one mistake can end the game is true, but it also hides it’s weaknesses. I’m at d2 right now and debating whether or not I want to grind to legend, but bad decks can go on streaks at lower tiers easily. Pretty sure I played curselock D10 to D5. The draw does make the deck very consistent, it just has a lot of moving parts which can in turn give the illusion of it being better than it is. It does perform pretty good against demon hunter and control warrior though, so maybe I’m being too harsh on it since it does slot into the meta.
irony of this is when you face a silence priest and he silences the pigs :D lost ? or maybe you need to kill them on drop. looks a fun deck though, challenging and rewarding
Nah it's not fun, challenging or rewarding it's just lame. Decks like this and CA Druid shouldn't exist but the game is bad design all over the place so no surprise at all.
Quick example: 3 mana cheat 15 mana and dredge is fine for everyone smh. 1 mana deal 8+ damage while also clearing the board, completely negating any board strategy out there also fine.
Not to mention Quest Hunter lol... rough days we are living, very depressing (i think that's the more appropriate word) , let's wait for the nerfs if that ever happen and pray for some miracle, once again.
Gamerpanda my old friend, I'm hoping Priest/Rogue/Warlock get some buffs but you know chances are minimal of this happening. 3 classes totally bottom tier also fine smh.
Heyyyy Reinan finding my posts lol You know I've been salty about wanting to play priest
It seems like y'all are suggesting the Boar Priest but jesus it seems lame and my goal was to play more Xyrella, the Devout, so I'm thinking no on the Boar variant. I agree I feel like whenever I get against warrior they have depths, cheat 15 mana, then finley and go in.
Often when I do play Priest I feel like the removal is too little. Like Condemn would be better as a Deal 2-3-4. Against All Odds sucks compared to Hysteria and other past mid-game removals. Wondering if I should run 1x Lightbomb since my current list isn't running any Netherdrakes.
I've been playing with 2x Radiant Elemental and it does help you burn through your cheaper spells on a given turn, make handspace for Handmaiden. Queen Azshara is also in the list I'm trying right now. still testing.
EDIT: Just went 0-5 playing Shellfish without the Radiants. Holy jesus every other deck is SO aggressive and powerful even a good hand with priest is nothing in comparison and without the good removal and healing Priest is dead in the water. What a crying shame.
Priest is in such a bad spot. Warlock has better healing (not to mention Druid and warrior have better healing through armor), demon hunter has better lifesteal, hunter has better single target removal, paladin has better defensive minions… it just seems that all of priest’s identity has been parceled out to other classes leaving it in an awkward place. There isn’t good hard removal or aoe right now and that severely limits the class. Priest doesn’t even have a 2-damage aoe until holy nova, and the single target spells are very disappointing. There is good draw, maybe even the best draw in the game, but nothing to play once you draw it. Priest needs better defensive minions and board clears badly. Hysteria rotation really hurts, and the sets from last year were flat out weaker than other classes. Seek guidance is the worst questline by a mile and the hero card is the most expensive (tied with brukan and post-nerf scabbs). The colossal is way overpriced, laughably costing more than Nellie and having the same cost and effect as gigafin but worse because it only deals with one target and has no taunt. Mi’da of pure light needs taunt, otherwise it’s a liability.
tldr: priest no longer has an identity, it has the weakest legendaries from the high-power year of the gryphon, and it lost the removal tools needed to survive.
70% WR on way to legend for Quest Priest says otherwise. Priest can counter any meta if you build a deck properly. Build to beat DH and Ctrl Warrior it eats them up.
It's not that Priest is dead. It's just that you don't like to play the deck it has in this meta. That's different. Warlock, Shaman and Rogue are in worse spot than Priest.

You just described the idea for boar priest. 70% for quest is impressive, but anomalous. It really isn’t a good priest build currently but more power to you. The meta has gotten favorable for priest because it’s degenerated so far that you can build counters to two decks that make up so much of the matches.
The point is that priest is exploiting an unhealthy meta with several dead classes, multiple brain dead board based decks and then two power outliers that make up the majority of matches. Just because you can farm DH and Warrior doesn’t meant priest is good, it’s just able to counter clown metas.
I've had a pretty decent amount of success with shadow deathrattle priest. It still has the shellfish package, but it's got some other stuff like that 5 mana 5/6 taunt. The hero power goes a long way with helping mitigate some of the early pressure normal priest decks have a more difficult time handling. To help with the fact that there are barely any shadow spells to work with, scorpid, importer, vulpera scoundrel, and school teacher help fill in the gaps a lot, especially when it comes to healing and board clears. Beating turn 3/4 drek'thar is pretty difficult, but it's got the tools to keep up with most other situations in general.
Priest lacks variative cards at the moment, same as Control Warrior for example. You can only play it one-way, and if it didn't pay out, you have no other options to choose from. Priest needs at least one more set of good cards to become good (possibly).

You kill the final pigs the turn they are summoned. Pyromancer + amulet, or amulet + devour, or even amulet + lightbomb.
Running lightbomb?

Pig priest is one of the best decks. But it might one of the hardest decks to play, ever.
