This new 8 cost rogue pirate is 100% garbage.....take 5 cards from a deck to shadowstep it 2x for a total of 15 cards removed from a deck that he cant even hold.....like wtf kind of balance are you thinking these cards are.....they cant even hold the 15 cards they take but they still get removed from the deck like they can.....your game has gone so far downhill since its launch but crap like this is why i have stopped playing....you guys make cards so STUPIDLY over powered and people cant to ANYTHING to counter these combos like seriously fix this game or lose more business
If you have stopped playing, why bother creating a new post here? Also why not just vent in the salt thread and move on? Or did you actually wanted to discuss anything?
I dont know. I really liked the card, but from my experience it's almost trash. I hardly have a chance to play it in most games. With aggresive pirate rogue game is mostly over by turn 8 - opponent dead or I lost tempo and have nothing in hand and far from lethal. Or I can play it in game I would win anyway even without it. Few times the minion take won me the game and the other two options was never worth to me because in aggro deck it's 8 mana do nothing. It should cost less to be usefull. But I agree that it could be cancerous with bounce cards against certain slow decks. But it's still better than Tickatus. But again the biggest problem with these cards is that you could play it multiple times.
I am sorry that your greedy deck with no real win condition lost to a guy who spent 20 mana just stealing cards from your deck without developing anything on the board
Rogue is bottom of the barrel right now. We get to have fun.
I wouldn't say that. Pirate Rogue is just as bad as Pirate Warrior in wild.
The only difference between the two hyper aggro decks is which boss card the decks rely on to win. For Rogue is Hooktusk, for Warrior it's either Rokara or Nellie.
Either way both decks aim to kill you by turn 6 and have been pretty consistent since set release. The nerf to warrior quest was pointless.
You can't compare Iron Juggernaut with Hooktusk. Its completely different power level. Best pirate rogue decks in wild arent even using her because they aim to destroy you before turn 8. Its too slow and its not helping much most times.
Lol, man, what can I say that hasn't already been said except that most of the pirate rogue decks right now don't include Hooktusk because she's too slow and Rogue matches that aren't about combos are about maintaining good tempo. Whatever "value rogues" are out there right now just get more value from discovering other class cards and playing Tess. If Hooktusk was relevant for this meta, it'd be a good sign that it's slowed down enough to need it. As it stands, bupkis
Rogue isn’t bad, hooktusk is though. She has no effect on the board and apparently you allowed the opponent to play no board impact three turns in a row and still managed to lose. Running hooktusk greatly decreases rogues’ win rate. It loses to curse warlock, which is a deck built around overpriced and inefficient cards. Also, your wall of text with no real punctuation and RANDOM caps isn’t helping your case.
If the meta slows down enough and Rogue has more Pirate-related tempo/control tools in later expansions, Hooktusk can see more play as Rogue can manage to survive by turn 8-10...
But unfortunately, most of the time, their Tempo tools are used for aggressive Pirate decks so the late-game Pirate decks have no value... just like printing Control tools/spells for Hunter but Face/Aggro Hunter remains the superior choice than Control/Tempo Hunter.. This is back to the nature of the class weakness/strength.
The strongest deck with Hooktusk has 55,3% win/rate. The strongest decks in the meta have over 65% win/rate with a max of 68,8% win/rate for the hunter.
I don't see this big issue with Hooktusk, which is indeed a bad card. Rogue is performing better without it. Rogue has 59,6% win/rate with the pirate version without her.

If you've actually consistently lost to this card, then I feel very sorry for you....
LOL at first the card is garbage, then it's overpowered (?!), decks with this card aren't even >55% winrate, stop crying.

No.

I can count the number of times I've lost to Hooktusk on one finger.

It sounds more like an kazakusan noob got his butt pwned by a meme card :D lovely!’!!

I think its a fun card that gives rogue disruption, really ot a problem with the current meta.
I think *shadowstep* is an issue because of powerful battlecry effects like this, but I don't think Hooktusk is an issue.
It demands a rogue to play pirate decks and make it alive until Hooktusk can be played, it has to be broken to be playable.

It’s usually a turn 4 kill against pirate rogue since the patch in Wild. It even destroys quest warrior.
in wild it’s the deck that is forcing the meta because diamond 5 and up is chalk full of them.
the counters I’ve seen - mech mage, druid, shadow priest, and warlock mech control.
again, just talking about “wild” here. It’s the new quest hunter I guess.
Stop bitching about a card for rogue we need all the help we can get. Try complaining about deck that tier 1
