For maybe 4 years i play only wild. Today i thought i give it a try, just for fun. I was surprised not to find core cards like Swipe...that would be the first card i would mention, when it comes to druid identity. It already was in Warcraft before, if im not wrong.
Yeah so whatever, i play some games...my opponent plays a Mini-Mage. He is playing some spell damage combo mage and discovered it. Haha, you know what? It stayed until fatigue. I cant remove it. If he doesnt hit me with it, its immune against druid. I also couldnt find Starfall.
There is no card, that can deal with a lousy stealth minion in the druid repertoir. Thats fucked up. Is this real?
I always considered standard somehow "limited", thats why i never liked it. But this just must be worng. Vorrect me please.
You described an issue that a long term player, working in different formats, runs into. Hell, even today, I'm still confused when I try to dig for Frostbolt when playing Mage, totally forgetting it was removed from Standard a year ago.
Or I was playing in Duels, playing Priest, and discovered a Ysera Awakens from his hand, and threw it down expecting lethal... totally forgetting that it only hit minions now! There's something to be said about making rather significant changes to cards beyond small tweaks as it messes with my memory of what should be possible in a format.
To your point about Mini-Mage that's just some pretty bad luck. For that single minion you can't touch without having some bigger AOE from a Shattered C'thun or something, it would be dead pretty quick against most other classes. That's just the way favorable / unfavorable matchups works.
You play cenarion ward. After the 8 spells it takes for the spell damage to even with the armor, you play one more...
IF! The mere presence of a 3/1 minion is too infuriating? Play one of the countless minions that can damage or destroy random enemies. One of the more popular lists is even named after a minion that kills random enemies.
When they introduced core they removed basicly all control spells from druid. That was very bad move imho. To me swipe and wrath are like signature moves of the class and the absence of any AoE is fully retarded in a caster class.
Thats also why quest druid isnt good while in theory it sounds awesome. You cant get rid of taunts. Even a minor taunt is a massive problem lol
It was not about Mini-Mage. Its just strange they remove such cards, which are core cards and the only board clears druids have. As in WoW they ruined many identities of the classes anyway, since suddenly over time everything can heal and get armor etc...i guess thats just normal.
Today i played a shaman deck in standard. When i face a druid i just throw everything on the board, since i know, there is nothing he can do against a lot whack stuff on the board. Feels kinda broken.

lol. Mini mage? That's your biggest issue? Oh, the innocence of youth.
Please tell me this is a troll post?

If you play wild, surely you cannot be scared by a +1 spell damage minion doing nothing?
To pile on, there are plenty of neutral cards in standard that can handle something like a one health stealth minion...
Add Force of Nature to the list of Swipe, Starfall and other important Druid cards.
How is Force of Nature important when Druid has stuff like Glowfly Swarm? Hell, even Arbor Up on an empty board summons more stats
glad you fell into the Troll Trap, refering to OP who's refering Swipe and Starfall being relevant cards for the class.
