Is there any way to salvage The Demon Seed after the nerfs, or Warlock in general? I'm one of the people who enjoyed the meta before the patch and right now I look at all the decks and it's runaway aggro everywhere (Deathrattle DH, Warrior, every Paladin, Druid, the usual Hunter). Warlock had such a varied game plan and playing it was fun for me; it is my favourite class. I do not like playing aggro but can't seem to find an effective counter to what is happening right now. Paladin has stats and divine shield. DH has minion reload. Druid runs away with you at turn 3-4 before you have time to blink; same for Hunter. Mage just steamrolls over you but that was always the case.
I've put all control tools into Warlock and can't seem to draw them and play them fast enough. One deck I've built is a Fatiguelock variant that I enjoy playing somewhat but feel like something is still missing.
Any ideas where to take Warlock and to make it competitive? Or is it a case of waiting for the miniset (which might still take a month!).
Warlock has the highest wr decklist in high diamond thru legend and the second highest wr in diamond overall: it is arguably still the strongest class in the entire format, so not being competitive is certainly not its issue. If you're having difficulty winning, I would suggest taking ques from high wr decklists on hsreplay or just using one of them.

You realize that we are 4 days from the end of this season of ranked, and the nerfs haven't been in play for even a full week now? I'm getting a distinct feeling you are looking at very outdated information (especially the echo chamber that is Legend ranking).

The data I cited has been collected exclusively after the most recent patch, so it is definitely not outdated.
Warlock had always broken legendaries, like the hero card guldan and alot game braking mechanism like destory enemy cards, kill minions and heal for 0 mana etc. Warlock needs a delete, not nerf
warlock was disgusting and all players who abused demon seed: haha, IN YOUR FACE, noobs. ,,!,,_(-.-)_,,!,,
Now warlock is healthy again. I'we seen control warlocks and few awesome even highlander warlocks I used to play with, until secret mages made that unplayable at some point. But now since guest makes are not seen (at least in legend) I could update my own highlander even warlock.
I play a homebrew Zoolock no matter what the meta is and it does okay ... right now it does quite well because the way I've built the deck it is a near autowin vs Druids and it does well vs Paladin builds (handbuff and secret) and Shadow Priest. I've won vs all Warlocks I've faced since the nerf ... 1 Zoo (they were playing a weak build in my opinion) and 2 Quest, but to be honest, don't see them on ladder anymore.
Hunter and Warrior is 50/50 depending on how good the opponent's draw is. But the Quest Hunter variant is a pretty easy win because they run too many dead cards vs. Zoo (Selective Breeder, Scorpid, weapon snake).
I struggle most vs. Elemental Shaman and Quest Mages (ugh).
Can't remember the last time I faced a Demon Hunter and have not seen many Rogues.

I subscribe to HS replay and haven't had a good time with the Warlock decks on there (I don't like net decking anyway but I like to check out individual cards and take some inspiration for my own decks). Those decks made hardly any changes since the patch and rely on outpacing the opponent and the matchup spread is quite bad against the classes I seem to be facing all the time. So this is not the way for me but always a helpful suggestion in general.
In a change of approach, I have a deck now, which is heavily focused on minion removals (added Hellfire, Entitled Customer and Twisting Nether), heal and card draw, that's all. This seems to be doing better but I will likely cut some of the removal to make it more efficient. Any other ideas?

I can see a hyper aggro Zoolock working as well. There are cheap minions that self-damage you could get out early and take it from there. I'll look into that as well.

I would need to know more about your decklist and what exactly its win condition is before I could really provide constructive feedback on how it could be improved. With that said, hellfire and twisting nether are both fairly awkward/suboptimal cards to play as warlock in the current meta for me. Both are too expensive and consequently too slow imo; you should be fine with defile, drain soul, and soul rend. Golakka crawler is a decent tech for pwarr and seems to be quite popular now, but I'm sure you already knew that. Other than that, not knowing exactly what your decklist is or how it wins, all I can say is that with any homebrew you do want to try to ensure that the deck is as balanced and oriented towards defeating the meta as possible.

It is not a hyper aggro zoo deck though, I don't like that style so don't make my decks like that.
- It doesn't run Giants for example. I run well-statted minions for the cost and ones that are sticky ... e.g. you need minions with over 3 health or with deathrattle ... for example, the 1/5 taunt is good because it is easy to buff with minions/spells (as is the new 2/5 imp) or deathrattle minions that can be sacrificed to deal 2 to the opponent's board or buffed to trade/go face. I also don't run Raise Dead.
- I have one value card (two if you count Kanthred) that is the only card that generates random cards ... Rustwix ... can't stand random card generation, but Rustwix is great because his voiceline is fun to finish an opponent off with or to play on board just before I deal lethal damage ("No one drives this rust heap but me!" - which is fitting because I don't see anyone on ladder playing this style of zoo deck.)
Put it this way ... a solid, sticky minion-based deck that relies on deathrattles and buffs ... I've made the same deck for Shaman which is based around Eys'or, which has a higher burst potential but is weaker to board clears.
Warlock is strong, it is just heavily draw dependent and looks to run your opponent out of answers. Stop whining, the deck still really strong. Of course it has its hard counters.
Quest Handlock is still the top perfoming deck on Top Legend... Why you may ask? Well it's true that the quest got slower but the meta in general got slower which is still good for Warlock. Also as always there's the "nerfed deck syndrome" where the majority just thinks that the nerfed deck is now absolute thrash and they don't even try to play it to see if it's actually bad or not. That makes it so the unfavorable match-ups the deck had also lower they playrate and thus it becomes a favorable meta for the nerfed deck once again, cause even if its overall powerlevel is lower, if the deck is not being heavily targeted that makes it better for the deck overall. Also the deck only has good winrate at top legend because it's not easy to play (regardless of what salty babies say) and cause people in top legend realize that Quest Mage is bad and don't play that deck, a deck that is otherwise very popular in lower ranks and dunks on warlock.

Top legend is a bubble where different decks are played compared to where majority of players sit (for obvious reasons). I understand the thinking about people dropping nerfed decks and slowing meta down (slowing? - tell that to Druid or Hunter!) being good for Warlock but we still don't see that in the stats, with the exception of top legend, which is basically a 1000 players. And even there the winrate isn't exactly breaking any records, barely hovers above 50%. I think my main issue is, if this deck isn't that viable anymore for the majority of players (including me) is there any other direction that we can take Warlock in to have fun and win some games.

No, Warlock is too slow to be competetive. It was massively avoided during Grandmasters.

such salt much BM.
So it's weak not strong. Auto folds to Token Druid, Face Hunter, Quest Mage, Weapon Rogue. Stop pretending it is more than tier 3.
In my opinion they shouldnt have nerfed the weapon. They nerfed the quest and thats fine but paying 4 mana to equip a weapon is really slow.
Reno warlock is one of the best decks in wild. It is also fun to play.
Dead but dreaming

3 mana to cheat 16-20 mana... nah i don't think so
