Ummmm. What the hell is this? They nerf DoL which didnt even do anything. Mage is still impossible to deal with. Too many zero cost spells, too many ways to do face damage with zero counter, brutal secrets that can win the game on the spot, more cheap spells, armor, whatever they need. Oh and insane card draw. So its just play face Hunter and hope for the best? Is it instant-concede for everything else. You cant do anything against them and have it work or stick. Kind of sick of it. We know how awful it is in Wild but standard too? Is there a non-mage mode we can play so the game can be enjoyed?
Can we for once in our lives get anti-secret tech that actually does something really destructive like destroy 2 secrets in play and in deck? Something worth playing? Please? I just hope the nerf bat swings and hits hard. Watch these bad players squirm when spells actually cost mana and you cant draw 26 cards in one turn. Hurry it up.
Mage is the 4th beat class at the moment. It's winrate is less than Paladin, Warrior and Hunter. It has a strong deck, but the numbers suggest it isn't overpowered. Paladin meanwhile has been at the top of the meta for months. It's nerf barely hurt its winrate.

Mage is toxic for sure, but I surprisingly just got "On A Roll" reward for winning 10 ranked games in a row as a Cthun Heal Paladin and I do not run toxic Crab Rider or broken conviction. Weirdly, I think my streak started when I crafted Cariel and added an Ogre Mancer to my deck.
I am sure I saw several Mages during the run, but I don't remember any of the games because they weren't interesting.
Mage is a problem, but apparently I have my deck setup to cause them to dump too many resources into killing my minions without gaining board control.

Look at Mage win rates against anything other than Paladin and Hunter and you will see very different numbers, The two classes that beat it most are Hunter and Paladin, So yes it is overpowered, Is it as overpowered as Paladin no its not i dont think that deck even has a worse than 50/50 again any other class but if they nerf Paladin again (A nerf that actually makes a difference ofcourse) and possibly Hunter and dont touch Mage then no class will even have a 50/50 against Mage, Is Paladin a problem oh without a doubt but outside of Paladin and possibly Hunter make no mistake about it Mage is a massive problem.
Mage will farm pretty much anything that is'nt Hunter and Paladin and Hunter and Paladin are the only decks with a positive win rate against Mage, Paladin no doubt about it needs a nerf, Honestly cant say i've ran into that many hunters so cant comment on that but Mage is also a serious problem for anything that is'nt one of those other two classes and if you nerf them and make them weaker against Mage without touching that class.....What beats Mage then since right now Paladin and Hunter seem to be the only classes than can beat it on average.

I DID look it up. Rush warrior is 50/50, even slightly favoured against mage, and most rogue decks do very well vs them too.
The matchups of no-minion mage are polarized, but I don't think a deck which has a sub 40% winrate vs the most popular one should ever be considered OP, especially when it is far from the top overall.
We all see the meta through the decks we play. Check my profile pic.
I'm not a mage player but today I got to play 3 games with mage quest so I put together a half baked no-minion deck with missing 2 devolving missiles and 1 combustion. Won 2 games in rank mode at diamond 4 against rogue and warlock. Only lost to a mirror mage.
My verdict is its absurd and outright cheating with the synergy of cards. Poor rogue and warlock got beating to face from spell, draw cards restore mana, discover more spells and continue shooting face. Don't consider myself any particularly good, just the gap in power of the deck and value generated from playing its class exclusive cards.
The recent GM speaks volume. 2 of 3 regions is championed by Mage no-minion deck. And this happens when Paladin is missing, similarly without Paly keeping them in check, they are just too oppressive.
No. All popular paldains, face hunter, poison and stealth rogues counter mage too hard.
Paladin is god tier in Standard.
Surely depends on the level of play. As far as I've heard both Mage and Priest are performing much better in legend ranks, Spell Mage even being the best deck in top legend.
Also, is there anyone left in standard playing Poison Rogue or Stealth Rogue? Haven't seen one in ages.

Haven't checked matchup WRs (I don't have hsreplay premium), but the No Minion Mage vs Aggro Paladin matchup feels pretty balanced to me as Devolving Missiles is an extremely powerful card in this matchup. Especially if the Paladin decks are not running Ogremancers, but rather go for the suggested deck lists of the VS report. The paladin version running secrets is probably a bit more favored vs Mage due to Oh My Yogg! (the secret that summons the 3/4 taunt is also quite annoying in this matchup).
Face Hunter will always be a miserable matchup for Mages, but the rest of the meta is so hostile for Hunters that I barely see any these days.
As for Poison Rogue vs Mage, again this doesn't feel like a great matchup for Rogue. The deck is much slower than aggro decks (it is really only after t5 or t6 that it starts to push big amounts of damage) and one of its key survival tools when trying to set up next turn lethal (Cloak of Shadows) can get hard countered by Mask of C'Thun. I feel like this matchup should be close to 50-50.
Its still broken in standard. Brutally. You cant play any minions because they get rid of them. You cant play spells because of fucking secrets. You cant attack their minions because of more secrets. And as usual we have NO secret counters whatsoever. Nothing. I want a card that destroys two secrets on board and in hand. At least.
Oh and they have unlimited card draw & direct damage too. What a joke this is.

I just auto-concede against mage. Its no fun for me to play against generating rng casino stuff.

Ceterum censeo classum magi esse delendam.
Blizz said they may hit mages in the nerfs so I predict incanter's flow to be bumped to 3 mana. Hitting wild mage is a huge bonus as well.
