At first, Lunacy Mage was working just fine for me yesterday until I got to Diamond 1 with 3 Stars then started going like 1-8 since then and dropped back down to Diamond 4. Considering how many times I face Paladin and just got wrecked by then, I finally gave up and played Secret Paladin the rest of the day.
I managed to hit Legend for the first time last night after playing all day long.
Ever since then, I lost like 12 times in a row, most of them to Paladin. I hasn't seen any Warrior or even Warlock since I have been in Legend.
I am just glad I don't have to do the Legend grind again. This Standard meta sucks big time.
I also really like this Meta, every class has a few decks that are pretty strong (besides Shaman :( ). The only thing what i still don't like is the ladder system what makes it to easy to become legend.. The old system was better for me.
I like the meta quite a bit after the latest balance patch. It gave rise to a variety of completely new archetypes as well as made some existing ones quite a bit more viable (most of them driven by the buff to N'Zoth, God of the Deep.
I find it a bit annoying that Paladin is so overplayed, but I don't really find any of the paladin decks overpowered at all
The highroll of all decks is so high, that even a medium roll produces something an opponent can not recover from nine times out of ten. This is the problem with standard hearthstone right now - I get that wild has to be this way, but there really is no excuse for standard to be like this. It only really became apparent to me after this last round of nerfs, but the power level of nearly all the popular decks is too high - there is no back and forth anymore, its just a race to your game winning state, and its based purely on draw RNG.
Seems there is very little room for skill and decisions, and nearly every deck is idiot proof - Hunter is like this (buff/draw rhino, profit), Rush Warrior is like this (the amount of game breaking powerful combos they run is actually insane, I can't list them), Druids just holding for their unaswerable arbor up turn, Mage is like this, every variant of Paladin is like this, only even more busted... the exceptions are the more controlly decks - Priest and Warlock, but Priest if full of random spell generation that is frustrating to play against, while warlock is milling half your deck, and hoping for an early safe play for Jrax, but rarely feels like something you can engineer, it's just blind luck when you can pull it off most of the time.
Desperately hoping the mini-set just makes the game a little more dynamic and play driven again. Class balance doesn't matter much to me if I feel the gameplay is poor. I'd be alright with meta being lopsided towards paladin as it is if they just fix it so it isn't like this. Tossing a coin is perfectly balanced 50/50 - class balance isn't the measure that matters.
What? other classes? i thought there is only paladin in the game, didnt realised there are more, excluding playing rogue myself...
Funny, I always have that exact thought about Mage when I play. Queue up and "Oh, hey Jaina! What interesting new deck do you bring to the game? Ah, Coin + Incanter's Flow, who would have thought of that?!"
Then 10 minutes later: "Oh, another Mage. Let's see wha... Font of Power, followed by Incanter's Flow, I see..."
Another 10 minutes later: "You asked for it." - "I wonder wh..." /* Plays Coin + Incanter's Flow. */ "Sigh."
Next game: "What?! A Hunter?! Imagine playing Face Hunter in 2021 when there is No Skill Mage. Rofl."
every class has a few decks that are pretty strong
Are you talking about Wild or trolling?
Paladin: N'Zoth, Libram, Secrets
DH: OTK, Deathrattle.
Hunter: Face Hunter with Rhino.
Mage: Spell mage, Hero Power Mage.
Priest: Corrupt Priest, Control Priest.
Druid: Token Druid, Clown Druid, Mana cheat Druid (with the 7 mana spell)
Warlock: Discard Warlock, Tickatus Warlock.
Rogue: Miracle Rogue, Weapon Rogue.
I know some of these are better then others, but for example Ramp Druid has an pretty decent winrate against Paladin in high legend. Hunter has a good winrate against Mage. Miracle rogue can win or lose against all decks.

First you said every class has a fewpretty strong decks, now you listed 1-3 decks per class, most of which are not even close to "pretty strong" (e.g both Warlock's decks or Hero Power Mage are terrible garbage).

Well Tickatus Warlock is even played in GM, Lunaloveee made 2 finals with it. Pretty strong is not the same as top tier.. And i said all classes besides Shaman. But if you look for reasons to hate the game instead of trying out the suggestions then i forward you to the salt topic or a click simulator game like Runescape where there is not much thinking to do.
The meta is good and there are a lot of fun decks out there, I just don’t seem to understand why blizzard refuses to nerf paladin. Is everyone at blizzard a paladin main? At this point they are either super incompetent which I don’t believe or they are trolling the players. It will be interesting to see how the meta shifts after the mini set though. Once we find out what the cards actually are as blizzard seemingly forgot to reveal them.

Well, strong tournament deck is not always strong deck for laddering. No Warlock deck is better than Tier 4 now. Hero power Mage is even worse, same with Poison Rogue or Control Warrior. Also Hunter has only one decent deck. In this meta there are 3 decent decks for Paladin (Secret, Libram, Aggro) and Priest (Control, Corrupt, Miracle), 2 for Druid (Gibberling, Clown), Rogue (Secret, Miracle), Demon Hunter (Deathrattle, Lifesteal) and 1 for Warrior (Rush), Hunter (Face) and Mage (Spell). Even among these some are questionable (all Priest decks, Lifesteal DH require quite a high skill to win among some faster match-ups.
So no, not every class beside Shaman has at least 2 good decks.

GM is completely different environment, with separate rules, bans and closed pool of players, so relating it to standard meta is pointless.
This meta is absolute garbage. It's full of face hunters and rez priests, both of which are WAY overdue for nerfs.
Do you speak about the Rally Priest, that has like 46% Winrate? No need for any nerfs there. Face Hunter with 63%, yeah seems slightly to high. Its like Pala-Level WR.

What meta? it is pure Palastone! paladins everywhere.. its unbelievable that blizzard accepts this shit ..
it devolved into exactly what they wanted, an aggro midrange meta.
The problem is that just becomes a "whoever high rolls first wins" tempo meta
which sucks
I'm loving it as well I play everything and made it to legend basically just having fun.
I also really like this Meta, every class has a few decks that are pretty strong (besides Shaman :( ). The only thing what i still don't like is the ladder system what makes it to easy to become legend.. The old system was better for me.

Worst meta in years. Have been really enjoying past several expansions but this is just bad.

I really don't like it.
all I face is the same decks and when I say decks I mean deck, you guess what it is
