There are so many Paladins and Mages I did some digging to see if I could modify my deck to make it face them better.
Horde Operative copies all enemy secrets and is a 3 mana 3/4 neutral, so decent Spider Tank body. Since you now have the secrets, you know what they are to play around them
It has worked great against Paladin, half the time they have trouble playing against their own secrets.
I have been playing against Paladin, Paladin and more Paladin. Haven't yet faced a mage with the new deck. Faced Rogue but didn't ever draw the Horde Operative with a secret active.
Play (and lose) some more games and perhaps you will change your mind. Few lucky attempts does not make a rule. Tech cards are always awkward so they have to be good and this one isn't. We need a Flare-like effect.
IDK, for a tempo deck 3/4 isn't bad, and if it steals back the tempo lead from paladin which may be the hardest deck for warlock, I don't see why it might not be good. With mega draw warlock is one of the best equipped to have tech, especially tech that isn't a tempo loss.
I especially like Firebat's tech suggestion for Warlock decks, that you run 2x Soul Rend and just don't cast it versus Priests.
I may try that, Finalstan is right is that although I had early success with this modification, I started running into Paladins running no secrets at all. And this minion is nearly useless against Mages, they just fireball your face and kill all your minions.
So far it gave me 18/3 vs Paladins, 11/4 vs Hunters, 8/0 vs Warriors and 5/1 vs Rogues.
However, it's not very good against typical Control Warlock and No Minion Mage, but I believe that was a necessary trade off.
I'm glad this is working successfully for you. I hate losing to Mages in particular and switched to a Heal Paladin that beats Aggro/Secret Paladin, Mages and Hunter.
I also have sometimes been playing Deathrattle Hunter with eggs, Vectus, Tonk, True Aim Cresent, Baron Rivendare and Teron Gorefiend -- it is surprisingly effective. The Paladin deck is weak to Warlock and greedy non-Aggro Paladins, the Hunter deck is weak to Priest and Heal Paladins.
I have been playing mostly Warlock lately.

If you want to beat aggro and tempo decks using Control Warlock, try this deck:

i did try to run soul rend especially to have a positive matchup vs paladins, a guy raged at me and called the deck idiotic. felt good.
