OK, I might be a little bit salty. But from my last ~40 games in pretty high Legend (around 500) I faced less than 5% of classes that are not Rogue, Paladin, or Warlock. And from these games, 24 were against Tempo Rogue, and the rest divided pretty evenly between Control Warlock and Libram Paladin.
My first impression is that Rogue seems absolutely ridiculous, I feel like playing against early Outland DH. And they're not even running Scabbs, which I find quite funny. But between Field Contact, Pen Flinger, Wicked Stab, repeatedly bouncing Wand Thief and Prize Plunderer to deal absurd damage to the face while drawing their entire deck by turn 7-8 it's not a fun experience...
I was so hyped for some decks. Hero Power Mage, Token Druid, Alignment Druid, Control Warrior, Control Priest, Beast Hunter, Deathrattle DH... Yet it seems like they're already out. It's way too early to call for nerfs, but I think the meta might become the obnoxious single-class thing we had in Outland.
Does anyone have the same impression? And again, sorry if I sound a bit too salty. I just wanna know your opinions.
Haven't played yet but the situation with Rogue is not surprising. Rogue already had insane cards and they got more insane cards. Really super imbalanced. The card draw is off the charts. The amount of draw they give to Rogue while giving basically none to Priest and other classes also having very little....it's really strange. Draw is the most powerful mechanic by far and rogue had tons of synergy with it. I finally didn't pre-order this time so at least I can be more detached about the shitshow.
Saviors of Uldum was the last enjoyable meta (aside from a bit of Darkmoon Faire).
Looks like in addition to the usual suspects there is a toxic "destroy your mana Druid".
And who on Earth thought making a toxic Secret Paladin was a good idea. Warrior, if anything comes of it, has an insane card draw weapon.
This meta appears to be lame enough I'll have to find streamers playing Classic to even enjoy watching some Hearthstone streaming.
It is very disappointing some of the screwed up metas in recent history, most notable was Ashes of Outland --- when metas like Rise of Shadows, Uldum, Boomsday, Rastakhan, Witchwood were so fun.
Dude why!!! Why do we get yearly rotation and the first thing is uttery broken is rogue.... again. Super unfun to play against. By turn 7 they drew the entire deck. Like what is this!!? 2 mana emperor thaurissan!!! Like what are this people thinking. They don’t do any play testing at all!!! Every game feels you getting cheated on.
is it supposed to be a surprise? they got all the good cards and 3 of em obviously broken at first glance. im not surprised.
but i think Rogue decks are ez to build these days while others have completely new archetypes, give it some time Rogue will be still tier s but not as OP as it looks.
and good news is the counter class for Rogue(Hunter) is in a really good spot right now; surprisingly. give it a try
I bad a blast last night. Mainly used a control warlock deck I'd thrown together but dabbled with a bit of a tempo style priest. Came up against warriors, paladins, couple of fellow warlocks and then spotted all other classes except DH.
Played a couple of rogues but dealt with them fairly comfortably. Warlock has a lot of removal and healing though so I could have either gotten lucky or just happened to play a deck that isn't overly troubled by rogue.
We do see these threads every single expansion though, it's normal that it doesn't appeal to everyone. There are a ton of decks still to try though, maybe target rogue a little if they are giving you a lot of issues.
I don't know what rank you guys are playing at but I'm chilling around gold 9 and I haven't seen a single Rogue, mostly Druids that can't seem to draw celestial alignment to save their life. Maybe there's just less tryhards where I'm at
What about Deck of Lunacy , a one card, that will win you games ? Have mages coining that shit on me, and then just using limited, powerfull spell pool to obliterate me. The power creep is killing this game now, with some classes reaching point of having ton of synergy without any realistic deck building restrictions.
No minions mage- font of power - who said I can't have any minions in my no minion deck, refreshing spring water (draw 2, cost 0), incanters flow, deck of lunacy. Unlimited value with cost reduction.
Rogue similar - ton of draw, small spells, pen flinger, plenty of synergies
Paladin - so many secrets, with 4 charge weapon which casts secrets, secret synergy legendary,3/4 for 3 - draw
Warlock - a lot of control tools, a lot of healing and draw
Slowly giving up on this game, thought the big change with this expansion will make balancing the game easier... but as I see it some classes are just supposed to be better with a lot of synergy, and others don't. We're supposed to create our Frankenstein monster deck, and see if it works (probably it doesnt work as good as the op decks)

Commenting about Rogue is fruitless cause it is the permabroken class, always OP and unfun.
About Paladin, it literally has the same winrate as on release DH (60%) that got nerfed in less than 24 hours, at least in the lower ranks.
Warlock and Druid are super unfun cause they destroy cards and mana.

Well in classic these Rogue kinda do the same in turn 7. Lol. No where to hide now

That happens with every new set and every new rotation.
New decks are unrefined and a bit janky, while a few of the old decks only had to replace a few cards, so they are streamlined.
Eventually streamers are going to find the new op decks and players will just copy-paste those.

Another day, another post complaining about the meta...Me? I'm just here enjoying a new expansion.
Imagine a developer team who worked for an expansion more than 5-6 months.
Here are the results;
Paladin with 60-65% win rate
Rogue is more OP then ever
Shaman is again broken and have almost zero card draw
And this team is still getting paid.
Good job indeed
