Hello, anyone else feels like rogue builds are way too powerful? I mean I usually see rogues go face only. Since they half of their minions are stealthed you always take some damage from them. They have shit tons of weapons and weapons buffs. When you gain control of the board, they just go straight to the face with x evicerates and sinister strikes. When you think they have no cards, they can just secret passage for 1 mana and get 4 more cards which they can kill you or generate stuff to kill you.
I mean there is absolutely no competition. Even if you have top cards to counter them. Since they usually need like 10 cards or 6 rounds to kill you, there is not much one can do.
You can rush them down with gibberlings or aggro demon hunter, overwhelm them on board as enrage warrior or duel paladin, or outheal them as control warrior or lifesteal demon hunter. The class is busted, though, I think secret passage should only draw 3, and that's still very strong.
I really hate it when the game allows a class to just "go face" and suffer little if any consequences. When DH was new, this was a huge problem. So many rounds of nerfs later, it isn't quite so oppressive now.
So what does Blizzard do? Give Rogue insane weapons + nitroboost poison. It's absolutely ridiculous. Games are over by turn 5 or 6.
And of course, Paladin has its turn 4 "you can't come back from this" swing turn. I've seen a Gibberling Druid deck kill someone on turn 3. Mozaki Mage can kill you on turn 6 or 7.
This is just terrible design. Is it such a dream to think that games might last at least until turn 10 normally?
Secret Passage is such a dumb card. I don't understand printing something like that after you've sent Divine Favor to the HOF. It's just too much refill for a class that thrives on dumping cheap cards onto the board.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the whole 'face for life' goal of certain aggressive decks and I recall hearing/reading something about the devs starting out and really enjoying the minion trading aspect.
I lost to a gibberling deck on turn 1 effectively. It may have been that they got the god draw but seeing them slam down gibbering, coin, bloom, the gibe a minion +1 summon a cub and whatever card gave them +1 +2 or whatever it is. Looking at 5 or 6 buffed up minions on turn 2 is daft and very unfun to play against. Thankfully I assume that's a bit of a rare draw to get.
I'm looking forward to rotation to be honest, I don't think the META is in a great place. It's very cheesy and swingy. I know it's a personal thing and some will love it though. It has meant I've jumped into battlegrounds, which is something I never do and I've actually enjoyed that quite a lot so I may well just stick to BG and duels for 75% of my time, until rotation.
With everything out there to complain about right now, aggro rogue isn't it.
Nozdormu/Alura Paladin is the scourge of standard ladder. Aggro is always gonna aggro, whether it's through gibbering Druid, weapon Rogue, or whatever. A turn 4 power swing like Paladin has access to right now, though, is too much for most decks and classes to overcome.
It's not even the best rogue deck. Whirlkick is still better. At diamond 5 i could barely win with aggro weapon rogue. Too many taunts, heals, aoe clears killing my stealth minions after i play them. The only decks I beat with the deck are garbage decks or other aggro decks. Maybe druid because you can kill them before they set up a humongous board. I didn't get to legend until I switched to whirlkick rogue.
It feels needed in this meta where most of the decks have some humongous crazy ridiculous combo BS "oh, I just win now" button. I am looking foreward as well to them changing card design to be more interactive and board focused and less infinite value, insane BS combos, ridiculously fast aggro decks. I've been ranting and raving to myself about how blizz needs to change this and I guess they agree! So I'm glad for that. Saving up as much gold as possible for the next rotation!
Ok I play rogue a lot. But I for one hate the design they try to bring to the table lately. The hyper aggro stealth Rogue is so stupid, it is not fun to play at all. Just feels so brain dead. But they nerfed the crap out of galakrond and put vanish to wild and nerfed prep. So blizzard kinda forced rogue players to go more aggro because all our control cards cost 6 mana. Plus any card that rogue has was designed around prep so most are over costed. So stop crying play aggro hunter or taunts/healing.
Nitroboost stealth rogue is fun and has some insane swings, but it loses hard to meta decks. It gets destroyed by both treant and gibberling druid because they force rogue to trade instead of go face. Druid can fill the board and if you leave 3 creatures for their next turn, they can reliably burst you down from 30. So rogue has to trade their stealthed 3/1 for a 2/2... not optimal. Rogue doesn’t handle highlander hunter well. Abbess Allura on turn 4 then coin stops them solid, but that stops every single deck solid. I also keep hearing that control warlock is bad, but they sure seem to be able to clear rogue and druid boards with ease.

That's interesting, because according to lot of people on this forum, control warlock doesn't actually exist on ladder & is just a figment of our imagination.

It may exist at low ranks where players have no idea what they are doing and never pressure the opponent. At high ranks it's a meme deck and the winrate is poor.

Yeah Rogue is quite good, thats why they signed him to NRG, his aim is nutz.

Rogue is my favorite class, I play everything, aggro, highlander, Galakrond, memes...
The sad part is the nerfs in Galakrond and Alex make hiper-agressive decks the only option for competitive play for the class... :(
