play when you are in a good mood, stop or take a break, when you go on loosing streaks
play a deck you enjoy, not just what's good on paper - it does not have to be the #1 meta deck, but it shouldn't have a bad win rate against all the meta decks. try to focus on your matchup specific mulligans, mulligan phase is VERY important. try to learn and understand your matchups, that comes with experience, so don't switch decks every time you loose, just find one that is fun for you and performs decent and try to master it.
i just hit legend with a tempo mage deck (you can check out my signature if you are interested). according to stats it is probably a solid tier 3 or weak tier 2 deck - yet i really enjoyed it, learned how the important, most common matchups work and managed to archieve a 79% WR to legend.
statistics websites like hsreplay can help you understanding mulligan and matchups.
Forgot all about this lol. Last month I eventually made legend first time, this month I'm so barely have time I made d5 only a week ago, and that's with 10x stars. Now the climb has been rough and long, but I got some time.
Trying to answer at least most - I'm on EU, currently grinding mainly with Soul DH and Secret rogue, with some alternates for the sheer fun with mainly HL control shaman and galalock.
The thing is the star bonus, the climb feels So much slower even with one star bonus less, and the skill level for me is d5+, where best games and matchups are. The challenge there is tiring, that's it, and when you work every day, you look for easier time. I admit - not the best attitude, but for the non-competitive I have a bs alt-account. At legend itself, I don't care being 10k or 284k, the point is the climb after, to where I really feel challenged.
Either way, thanks all for the tips and ideas, and congrats to all you making or those already made legend.

Pick a tier 1 deck and get lucky. Don't fool yourself into thinking anything else matters.
Get lucky??? thats not how you get to legned lol
Like all games -especially the ones involving RNG- luck does play a significant part. Not in the long-term though.
