due to lockdown in Italy i've tried hard do climb to Legend for the 1st time (since I usually not grinding a lot) and after reaching D2/3 around the middle of the month I was about confident about it. After that i faced an actual wall: I played 2hs a day and I only managed do climb to D1 3 star once and then dropped to D3/D4.
I tried to switch some decks/build (Tempo DH, Dragon Hunter, Murloc pally) without luck. Everytime it seems that i face a deck that counters mine and tbh I'm getting pretty tired of it :(
Have you ever face this kind of problem/situatation ?
Patience is the key. Don't think about your rank and that you are close to legend, but rather focus on each play you do, making absolutely sure you are putting yourself in the best position to win. When you are this close to legend, winning is much more important than playing many games, so take your time.
I would not change decks too much, everything is countered by something, and you WILL face counters as well as good matchups no matter what you do.
Yeah,I was in similar scenario.I also played like 1-2 hours a day.Eventually I gave up, because it was frustrating. You can´t do anything against bad luck.
I too decided to try and climb higher than I ever have before during this lockdown and reached about the same place you did at around D1-D3 or so. I too tried switching up decks and varying strategies. However I too have not gotten to legend yet. I've been playing the game for almost two years and I want to get there eventually.
The only conclusion I've come to is that there's something about my play style, decision making, or trading that seems to be holding me back. I think what I need here forward is just more experience, so my goal is to reach it by the end of the year. But I feel your pain and frustration, so I wish you the best of luck. See you when we both get there!
I was in the same spot last season, stuk in D5-D1 with whatever deck I tried until I finally reached legend. I read the advice to stick with one (tier1/2) deck and just focus on what the best play is every turn. After you play one deck for a couple of 2hr sessions you will see improvement and with enough games you will probably reach legend.
I was in the same situation! I could reach legend only thanks to Pirate Warrior! I was stuck to D3-D1 then i switched to Pirate Warrior and reached legend with a 7 win strike. I think Luck is very important in this scenario because all the deck and players from D5-D1 are good.. So patience and a deck that you feel conscious are the key

This certainly doesn’t have anything to do with luck.
Good players get there no matter what rng they have that day. Obviously you can get unlucky, and that’s just normal but if you have an optimal decklist and the knowledge, getting to Legend is only a matter of time.

Getting to Legend depends of how many matches you play. If you're a good player and have a positive win-rate but play for like 20-30 minutes per day only, you will never reach legend.

Exactly this.
When i see people changing their decks over and over again to counter the meta... Than it’s no surprise they aren’t climbing.
They might be decent or good at every deck, but mastering one or two is what gets you upwards.

I know. I tried to stick with one but I was very frustated seeing that i was keep losing even with a T1 deck :(

It happens, man. I couldn't play ladder for like two weeks due some personal reasons and I was ar D1 3 stars already, so yesterday I decided to finally pick legend with Warrior. Guess what? I went straight from D1 3 stars to D4 0 stars in one session, because absolutely every opponent had perfect draws and rng against me.
i rushed to D2 with an 77% winrate and i know that was fortunate until now. today i try to reach legend first time ever, knowing that now my losing streak can start^^
from my experience until now, stick to one good deck. the better you know your deck, the better you play

Always remember that T1 decks are not going to blow everything out of the water. At legend rank the best T1 decks have about 55% winrate, and this is being piloted by mostly experienced players. Every deck requires practice to master, so I fully agree to stick to few decks for climbing and trying to master them. I go legend every month, and I stick to MAX 3 decks for the climb.

If you struggling with a T1 deck, you certainly don’t always make optimal plays.
Maybe have a experienced friend spectate you, or even get some coaching. There is always room for improvement, even for GM players. And yeah as others already wrote, stick to one deck you enjoy playing over a longer period of time, and you will get better!
Patience and mastering the deck you choose is the key to reach legend. It requires A LOT of grinding, so if you don't have a lot of time because of work etc, you should pick an aggro deck for faster matches.
Also bad rng will always be there, falling ranks as well. Try not to get frustrated, focus in each match individually and you'll get there.
If you want to seriously hit legend you need to play a good deck, ideally a tier 1 deck that suits the way you like to play, and then learn the ins and outs of it and only play that deck. You will not get legend playing a bad deck or a deck you don't like. I like highlander decks. Some people like aggro decks. Some people like priest (special people). play what you like but stick with it.

Pretty much this. We are in the meta where match-ups between top decks are more or less even. Add to this that your opponents are supposed to be at similar level of skill... you can't expect an easy and quick climb. You will win some and lose some. What lets you move up to the next floor is a win streak and for this you need two things:
1) luck in match-ups and draws
2) time to let the luck in match-ups and draws come to you.
It comforts me that i'm not the only one strugglin at D2/D3 :) Clearly I'm not a champion in playing HS but it was weird that my winrate dropped from 62/63 % to nearly 50% in that range. I checked HSreplay, Vicious Syndacate but one thing it the deck, another thing is to make right play at the right time. And with this close meta a wrong choice (Rotnest Drake or Glaivebound Adept with a suboptimal target) can cost you a lose.

I heard people pay data sites to observe meta and select best climbing deck at the moment. :P~~~
does this work ??
