Because DH got hit a 3rd time and now face what’s the best counter to all these priest decks running rampant? I don’t even care if I lose to everything else tbh. Just want to see priest players lose. They’re crazy heavy right now. Also not looking to play any rogue deck and sadly I think that’s the best counter lol....
I just concede the moment I see them lol. Not even worth my time. Already made legend so who cares and I only play about an hour a day on a good day so not wasting 30 minutes lol
at this point all I care about is finding a deck with a good win rate vs them and just making them lose.
Winning with control gives me a sense of accomplishment. Not playing Res Priest, because I don't have the cards to build it, but I used to play shit ton of Handlock, Renolock, Control Warrior, Malygos Mage, Control Paladin and it always felt nice, because in the end the game lasted for more than 6 minutes and required me to actually consider my cards, not play whatever I had on curve.
Where is joy in playing whatever card is highlighted in green? Having games ending on turn 7? Doing exactly the same stuff every game, no matter the opponent, because your plan is always the same - drop, whatever you have, and end the game as fast as you can?
Playing control means OPTIONS. Means actually considering what to play and adjusting the gameplan. This is what mindless tempo lacks, and this is what is the joy of most card games actually.
I'm curious because I have the exact same question about aggro DH or Hunter decks. Playing against Priest can be a tedious endeavour, but I think that if you play hearthstone for "Fun" you really couldn't be bothered about a 30 minute game. I'd personally say control vs control matches are the most fun, as the games are much less dependent on draw luck and rather on right decision making.
Though unfortunately it seems that many people equate fun solely with winning. I still find it difficult to grasp why one would otherwise play all those completely flavourless decks while there are so many funky decks out there.

Well said, sometimes the impression I have is the people want to play Solitaire and install HS by mistake... >_>
And that's exactly why some people find playing Priest fun. They like to bully their opponents by making them go through a boring 30 minutes game.
Aye. If you can drain the enjoyment from an opponent you can nudge them toward concede. Also, people play poorly when frustrated, which is an additional boon to the prolonged agony of priest gameplay.
Don’t get me wrong, I love control. Most of my cling has been hand lock warlock and big Druid. But priests solely depend on luck. All of their cars generation is based off of luck from gark and steal cards.

I played highlander hunter to legend. It has a bad matchup vs tempo DH but it has a good matchup vs priest. While I hate tempo DH, it's important to me to have a decent matchup vs priest since I absolutely despite playing decks where you have auto concede matchups. I like control warrior and there are some lists that do well and I went to legend with it last season, but having to concede vs every priest is dumb. In some cases I could see priest up to 4 games in a row and it was just a sure loss after 20 mins and so pointless to play. Highlander hunter has winnable matchups against everyone, even if the tempo DH matchup is a 40 - 43% matchup.
The galakrond priest though is a bit more beatable with a bomb warrior deck than other priest decks. The trouble with bomb warrior is without the lackeys the matchup vs tempo DH is very bad (although it enjoys overwhelmingly good matchups vs mage and rogue).
Paladin and shaman decks are so bad vs priest though. They just have no end game value. Even if shaman plays archivist it has no win conditions in the end game to compete with priest getting a free card from galakrond every turn. At least enrage warrior has a chance to kill the priest (and if they wanted to make the matchup better they can tech in alex to reduce the priest hp to 15 a turn before they combo them, at the expense of having a worse matchup vs tempo DH).

There's really not that much luck involved in Priest stealing your cards. Yeah, it's easy to claim this, when you are tilted, been there. But if you think about it - every deck is stuffed with the best cards the archetype has to offer. Very rarely you play cards which aren't good on their own. There are specific scenarios, but they are in a huge minority. Overall, if you take a card from someone else's deck 9/10 times you can use it for profit. Take a look at your deck and think of two cards your opponent could steal from you and they would be of no use. Sure, there are some in the meta. But few. Odds are in favor of Priests.
If you play against value stuffed decks, most of the time you are gonna get value. Simple as that.
Trust me - if stealing cards was a luck dependant strategy, no one would use it. In the end it is all about numbers - much more often than not you will benefit from the stolen cards. Same goes for Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron for example. You would think it's all just luck. Not really. Numbers don't lie - it is usually beneficial to play the card. So people play it. You have set expectations on what the outcome will be. Same for Priests and stealing cards.
Also I find it funny that earlier you were talking solely on the dragging game and the class overall - now when many people seem to actually enjoy this playstyle you found another thing to complain - luck (which too is not the case). So what exactly makes you so mad about Priest? Luck or longer games? Because the second one contradicts with what you said about control.
Playing against control decks is fine. Losing against control decks is fine if you could play whatever deck you play. Playing against a deck which only wincondition is healing/boardclear is not fun. They just don't let you play the game. Lots of control decks had regular wincons, like DK cards or some finisher combos. Priest just stalls. There were games when I had to deal like 80 damage to a Priest to kill them. And even if I won, I wasted a lot of time and had no fun doing this. I know there are people that enjoy that stalling type of gameplay and I respect them, but I don't think aggro/tempo/midrange players have fun playing against these Priest decks.
It really amazes me how much people hate playing vs Priest. A couple of days ago I put together a budget 'Silence Priest' deck based on some deck I saw here and I tried to play a couple of games on Casual just to try it. This is by the way a Tempo/Aggro deck, nothing like the standard Priest archetypes. Well I had 5 opponents in a row auto-concede before turn 1 and two of them were Priests themselves (???). So I gave up trying, at least I earned 20 gold in 2min...

Priest has some polarizing match-ups - it's literally unbeatable for some decks. It doesn't necessarily all comes from hate, some people simply don't want to waste time on a game they have no chance to win. Especially in casual. As for Priest vs Priest... Easily understandable on casual, wouldn't even be surprised on ladder (because time spent on a game is a factor there).

Funny you should say that, because that's exactly what happens whenever I play against a control deck with my combo, it becomes a game of solitaire (and much more so than an aggro deck vs control).
I love players who use control decks honestly, but when I played pretty much any deck whatsoever, priest was by far the class I wanted to bump into the least. The whole resurrect mechanic is dogshite by itself (I don't know a card game where it's loved) and it's even more cancerous in hs. Again, I don't really care for myself, I've lost 2 games this month against priests, but I can certainly see how it'd be an incredibly irritating class to play against. That's not the case for all control decks, warrior control decks never were this annoying to play against, but then again to anyone who just goes face I guess all control decks are equally annoying.

Yea, they really need to rework the whole class. I think it would be better if they focus on giving it a viable tempo build which plays minions, buffs them, heals them etc rather than making it some frustrating control deck. Galakrond priest is alright. It's not like rez priest. Rez priest and quest priest though are so unfun and frustrating to play against.
