I haven’t played HS since “Rumble” - so I’ve almost only got the standard and classics set. I’ve dusted all my old card - now wild cards - so I’ve 78.000 dust.
Any recommendations for a fun and good control deck. I liked playing control mage and control priest when I was playing back in the days.
I’m only asking because of the limited resources. I’ve the standard legendaries so I should be able to build 3-4 good decks. So I hope not to waste dust on bad decks.
If you like more control-style decks, then I would recommend going with Resurrect Priest. It’s a pretty powerful deck that fits the control archetype very well.
bad move to DE old card next xpack you will be able to do something with old wild card in a new mode
This mode cannot really be competitive, because it would ruin their entire "it's always a good time to join/come back, here, we will give you plenty of stuff, when you enter for the first time or after a break" narrative.
They pretty much went all out encouraging people to play, so they won't make a mode so many people couldn't play on a serious level anything more than a fun gimmick.

A format being competitive or not means nothing to anyone but the 0,1% who are in the top 100 legend at the end of the month. Only they actually feel some benefits (invitations and qualifier points if blizz still does the latter) of a format being competitive. The rest might as well be playing casual.

By "competitive" I meant "beneficial". They cannot offer anything for playing it, just like they do not offer anything for playing Battlegrounds (even though for different reasons). Their main line of competition is ladder. Everything else is just a bonus. Yes, you get a pack for Tavern Brawl - but nothing else, and ultimately everyone gets the pack.
Battlegrounds is competitive (so my bad for choosing an inappropriate word), but there's no reward for climbing. The only places where you are rewarded for actually playing and winning are ladder and Arena. If they introduced another mode, which would be beneficial to farm, it would ruin the experience for many people.
Also between ladder, Battlegrounds, Arena and casual playing with friends, if they introduced another mode, people like me, who play basically a bit of everything, would have no time to play it, if it was serious (or would have to drop other mode).
Apxvoid is a streamer that mainly play mage (used to be on twitch but sadly now on facebook), you could check his twitter for a decklist. I think his last decklist tweet is a highlander mage deck that Alliestrasza played on stream a couple of days ago.

Galakrond Warlock

You should really not have done that, but done is done.
I would go Res Priest, Gala Warlock or Highlander Rouge.
The best deck is probably Demon Hunter atm though
Silver Hand Recruit

KEKW wild would have been the perfect place to play KEKW
The 1st step towards a better game is firing Mike Donais! We had enough of his "skillful" balances!
