It's currently a tier 1 deck, but I just don't see it. I'm having much more success with Highlander DH. Literally every deck focused on lategame and control up to that point beats my tempo DH deck, even when I have the perfect curve.
Galakrond warlock, priest, ramp druid, hell even spell mage, all almost impossible to beat.
well i just made legend with the deck with a decent winstreak, winning every game at about 6 mana. So it's quite possible you don't see it, yet it is there. Most broken thing about the deck are the broken one-drop into cheating out frenzied felwing. And ofcourse altruis, who can easily win games on his own.

Galakrond - agree. Ramp Druid is pretty much 50-50, very dependant on the draws. If druid doesn't build early defense, it will most likely die, before it stabilizes. It's very similar situation with Priest. Spell Mage is almost as bad as Galakrond Lock, but Mage isn't played that much in the meta.
So 2 bad match-ups, 2, which can go either way and other than that DH is either favored or ties against everything else (including your Highlander).

Which list are you using? You definitely shouldn't lose to Druids. There seem to be a bit of confusion as to what is Tempo DH, what is Aggro DH ecc... on hstopdeck you can see under "Tempo DH" very different lists, some including the Ragin Felscreamer + Priestess package (and some even Glaivebound Adept), some being a lot more aggressive.
In my experience, the more aggressive lists without Priestess are the most solid in the current meta. They don't give Warlock Sac Pact value and the match feels almost even; they're definitely advantaged vs both variants of Druid (and there's an insane amount of them around, I almost feel I'm playing about half my games vs Druid), if you're losing against Druid I guess you're using a slower list. Priest is hard/unfavorable, but doesn't feel unwinnable.
Btw. from your description it looks like you struggle to identify, when you should go all out. It's a fact that every controlish deck will have easy time, if you let them clear your board without having anything to replenish it.
AoE + taunt/heal and you loose. But it's not like every game against Priest or Druid looks this way. They tend to have inconsistent starts. And you should simply learn how to manage your resources so that you don't loose to a single board clear.
I remember my first game against DH with Mage. I was dropping clear after clear. Flame Ward, then Reno, then Blizzard... And I still couldn't find myself a turn to stick something bigger on board. I ultimately won, but they did give me a hard time, simply because they didn't run out of resources.
Don't worry they nerfed DH, now all the idiots are happy :)
By "idiots" I guess you mean "that 10% of players that dared playing any of the other 9 classes" and ruined your dreamy endless mirror-matches scenario?!? You're right! Interrupting that 8 demon hunters in a row streak was so rude!
Agreed that it's good. used it to streak to legend from 2 diamond with 0 Stars beating mage, druid, warlock and other demon hunters. I'd often find myself getting damage over the top... so don't concede early with this one. that's a huge mistake.
If you're still talking about the old tempo deck (With antaen and Priestess) then yeah, that's bad deck now. The closest thing to tempo DH we have now is AGGRO DH which cuts all those heavy cards and the life steal weapon and runs a lower curve. That deck is indeed better than tempo and highlander DH and it's probably slightly weaker (but easier to play) than OTK DH.
Agree, the aggro list is very good - hit legend with it for the first time this afternoon. Highest cost card is 6 mana Skull so you always have something to play. I’ve been running the questing adventurer so you can go tall instead of wide as an alternative win condition to push you over the line
HS Replays is worthless now. Many streamers and pros are either eccentric or memers, many are good players with any deck, many judge cards by feelings and habits which is biased. And then people netdeck from them. The result is that majority of netdecked ladder decks are wrong and simply bad. Very few pros are actually good deckbuilders.

Standard, Wild, and Classic player.
Losing to Sire Denathrius makes me not want to play this game anymore. The Sire Denathrius nerf makes me want to play this game again. Losing to Deathrattle Rogue makes me not want to play this game anymore. The Prince Renathal nerf makes me not want to play this game anymore.

Too bad that "many streamers and pros" don't stream only the decks with the highest win rates all day, eh? It's not like they might want to entertain their audience or showcase interesting interactions, they should just be tryhards like you Kappa
In regards to your deck list, that is no traditional Tempo but rather Aggro (Battlemage as additional 1-drop, Felwings, Warglaives etc.) so it's no surprise it's more effective in the current environment where many people are still experimenting.
Because its a super aggressive tempo deck with superb synergy and for some reason they also have insane cheap card draw. How did you win against Aggro and tempo as control in the past? You controlled the board and ran them out of resources. Not with Demon Hunter.
Tempo will always be the best decks around because there is no interaction or what so ever. You wanna smash all your spells or minions to the opponents face? Go ahead, you can in this minimalistic dumbed down version of MTG with 90% randomness.

https://hsreplay.net/archetypes/367/tempo-demon-hunter#tab=matchups - just look here. I don't think there's another deck in the meta with so many 50%+ win rates across all decks.
Another thing is the deck is cheap - what means it is probably winning a lot on lower ranks.
Tempo good
Sorry I had to

You describe the problem of every tempo deck. You have a great start = you win.
But compared to other tempo decks DH is still better. (SURPRISE SURPRISE FBLIZZ =))
THey have tools like metamorphosis for potential finishing blows.

highly synergistic aggressive decks excel in hearthstone because that's what this game is without reactive counterplay.
Been that way since the very beginning
I mean...that's the answer though :-p
