OK, I remember way back when Reno first came out and there was a penalty for building a Reno deck. That penalty was that you could only have one copy of a card in your deck. This clearly did cause some trouble sine there are many cards that you'd love to have two of in your deck. Now, back then there was a little bit of shennanigans allowed where you could maybe bounce a card back to hand or possibly discover an extra copy of something really good.
But now? OMFG.... Highlander decks are hardly penalized because (Mage especially) seemingly can just regurgitate top-quality spells over and over and over without any harm to their Highlander status. With Rogue its lackeys galore and then those cards can discover multiple copies of cards you've clearly played already. Other classes can abuse this too like Hunter which can also discover ad nauseum. Then of course, Zephyrs(the "ass-pull, ass-save" card) still turns yellow and you get that too. Then, the new 8/8 Dragon that discovers two dragons for 0 mana. Ummm.... Hello.... WTF is going on here? Isnt it time to have Discover cards NOT be able to pull spells or minions you've played already? I think something has to be done about this. There is NO penalty anymore for highlander decks. If there is.... hat exactly is it? Your starting hand doesnt matter at all anymore. We know that much.
Yeah, Highlander decks are the only decks breaking the "rules". I had a game this morning against a druid who zapped out that reborn taunt on turn 5. I killed it and he played two witching hours on turn 6. Two 6/8 taunts cannot be targeted by spells, reborn, on turn 6. Sometimes you just gotta roll with the punches.
After rotation highlander decks will also be a lot weaker, because there will be less options to put into your deck.
Galakrond decks on the other hand, will be more of less equally strong than they are now. Stronger even, if you consider other strong options that will be rotating out.
Highlander decks have been struggling the entire year btw, so stop crying about the little time we have right now.
These decks have been very successful. During the summer, Mage Highlander was the best deck in the format (even a deserved nerf), then Highlander Hunter was also very strong, and now several of these decks are.
Logic makes us think that these decks will be damaged with rotation, but it is not so. Look at the lists, and you will find that only Mage loses big things with rotation (it will look fairer without the Luna combo), Hunter and Rogue are very quiet. Druid and Paladin Highlander are a mess but they can get strong cards and be more than just a meme.
In summary, Highlander decks only lose Zilliax and Snip Snap and it doesn't even seem like a big deal with all the new cards coming in. And each new expansion will get stronger and stronger.
Highlander decks are not a problem. They just aren't. Look at the meta list on hsreplay and point out a Highlander deck that is dominating over anything else. Closest is Highlander Hunter and it's hardly unbeatable, or has a winrate that we should be concerned about.

The stats dont prove anything. They are very anecdotal and only take into account a small % of games & usualy from Rank 5 down whcih iswhere the "memes" start. Highlnader decks are a huge problem. Im tired of them breaking rules and ending up with 3-5 copies cards that they are supposed to have ONE of. Thats not right. There is no penalty like their used to be for old Reno decks.

You are a child. So stats don't matter because the pool size is too small, but the side you're on has a pool of info that is big enough? Why do you think your single complaint is more valid than a sample size of many matches?
Your argument is also pathetic. Reno decks can discover 2/3/4 copies of stuff and that breaks the Reno rules? Guess what, Reno back then could pull that off as well. And decks with duplicates can discover even more copies of those cards than Reno can.

Not really, they still keep Zephrys and Alex, the cornerstones of all highlander decks.
Yes, cards are going into rotation, but new cards are also coming. The worst thing Mage and Rogue lose is Zilliax, and **MAYBE** Research Project.. No other card going into rotation are used in highlander Rogue or Mage.
Galakrond Priest is losing Mass Hysteria and Zerek Cloning. So they lose far more than Highlanders. And I'd be surprised if Leeroy doesn't get Hall of Famed, so that makes Embiggen Druid and Galakrond Warrior a bit weaker too.
The class who loses the most is the already dire Shaman, who lose Shudderwock, the one card which gave viability to their decks. Including Galakrond.

What? Both Luna's will rotate and are used on highlander.
I beat a lot of Highlander decks with my Galak-Bomb Warrior list. It's quite nice when someone forgets about the bombs I've shuffled and plays a Zeph or something else with no effect.

You know nothing
There are cards that counter these decks. If it really bothers you, you may counter them.
I don’t like res priest and have 2 or 3 cards in all my decks that counter it.

Oh yes, the Mage - the very class that dominates standard with its 4-5 viable deck archetypes. /not

Full Galakrond rogue >>> Highlander rogue, and shadowstep make rogue one of best classes to play highlander.
When 3 full expansion cut off in rotation and replace with only one the highlander decks will suffer.
So, unless the new expansion comes with tons and tons of cards to buff the archetype the future don't look bright for the strategy.
The problem is that the class 'highlander cards' are nowhere near as strong as the neutral 'highlander cards' when it should be the other way round.
100% agree with this. Alex is the prime example, just dump her in any Highlander or fast drawing deck and profit.
It's like you've seen any of the new cards already.
Problem are not Highlander decks, It's the most stupid card ever designed in any card game: Zephyr
Without that HL are pretty ok.

What will then?
His mentality is that of a 5 year old.
"wahhhh it's not fair."
But stats say it is fair.
"Wahhhhh that doesn't count!"
