I made a thread about this as well. When Whizbang rotates to wild, it will be totally useless. Which wouldn't be that big of a deal but if they just kept it in classic, it would be a really good card for newcomers to craft, so they can get an idea of how decks are constructed and they get decks they can play on ladder with, without spending years gathering dust and good cards.
Same (kind of) with Toki. It only makes sense being in standard and though it does not see any play in constructed deck, it's a fun card that newcomers will be happy to open from a pack and it gives them an insight into wild as well.
Why move it to Classic, when you can release a new one every other year? There's no money in that. Blizzard would lose a lot of money every year just from keeping Whizbang around. You can't have cards stay around forever, that allow you to play decent decks without buying any packs. /s
I can imagine Whizbang becoming part of Classic as it would make a lot of sense, but I have not much confidence in Blizzard (or Team5 for that matter) to do the sensible thing. I mean, the question has been around pretty much since the card was released, and they have not commented on it at all in nearly 2 years. If they indeed add it to the Classic set, it would be a pleasant surprise.
Then again, the dozen or so filler cards that were added to Classic last year suggest that they want to keep the number of cards in Classic constant, so they would also need to remove a legendary; probably Leeroy or Alex.
^^ took the words out of my mouth. The decks it generates will have to sub-optimal, and they will have to release a new version every rotation, or it negates the need for people to craft the key cards themselves.
It's a neat card for people to try decks before they craft them, but Blizzard can't have a single legendary that picks a random Tier 1 deck every game so you only need 1 card to easily climbs the ladder.
If it's going to be a recurring idea, 50% of the random decks it generates will have to be t3 meme decks, or ban it from ladder.
It would actually be more fun if it had a new weekly "tavern brawl" style deck that you could play in Standard. The deck would be brought out randomly, so it wouldn't have to follow normal deck building rules (more than 2 copies of a card, etc)... So, 1 in every 4 or 5 games in Casual, you would get the tavern brawl deck and end up playing against a standard deck, which would be awesome, or horrible.

The literal reason Whizbang exists is to create accessibility to bring in new players. Likely the single most profitable card in the game.
And Whizbang neither adds nor detracts a slot from your deck. So his existence does not warrant the removal of another legendary. If Leeroy goes, it's 100% not because of Whizbang.

It probably does because Classic has a set number of legendaries and Blizzard doesn't want that to change.

No, it doesn't.
Hyperbolic garbage doesnt change that.
Are u dumb ? If Classic doesn't have set number of legendaries then why would Blizzard add Whitemane and Brightwing for Rag and Sly ? when they can put that effort in making expansion legendaries.
They should move cards to HoF and replace the moved cards with cards from wild sets...
- leeroy/+Whizbang is a great idea...
Same goes for Zephrys, Toki, Prince Malchazar... but also for cards that identify class identity, like rogue who likes to steal cards from your opponent... like Swashbuckler, undercity huckster and hallucination (but maybe cards that have little impact in the past)... The classic sets seems so outdated... its time to make it fresh again!
Especially, the classic set should contain cards that have special effects like whizbang, or cards that identify a class...
Hi peeps,
was there any talk of moving this card to classic so it's always present for players to use when a new expansion starts?
Or if it goes to wild, to add some fun wild recipes
That’s not a bad idéa!

Would be nice were it evergreen and programmed to play from the top 10 decks in standard at that moment but, welp, money.
This is an obviously excellent idea and should be implemented immediately.

If Whizbang the Wonderful should be moved to classic, I state hereby I shall craft him in gold.

To live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffer!
I want to see Whizbang the Wonderful in classic.
