The point was more to ask the question and try to have a discussion about it and see where people's thoughts lay. Do I actually think they are cheating? "No". But is it a gray area in some senses, yea I think it is. It came up because I played Purple when he wasn't streaming yesterday and then thought to myself. How would "I" feel if I was playing against a team rather than just the individual I am expected.
Also something not mentioned by those indicating that they can be stream sniped. Stream sniping is something that gets people banned in channels and I believe Twitch has rules on the books to remove their accounts too if it can be proven. So Stream sniping isn't on the up and up either as a strategy. Just food for thought rather than trying to be an out and out arse.
This is just such an elitist posture. If i dont have friends, neither can you! hur dur ... you only feel like this cause you have played vs a known person and you know they talk to others when they play. Ok. Now imagine this is happening to you more often than you think, cause you cant know if it is happening or not. Will you feel different playing strangers now knowing they can "cheat" = talk to others while playing and discuss their plays? I very much doubt that.
If you feel like it is an unfair advantage, level the playing field by getting a friend to talk to as well, not call for restriction on everyone else. I for sure am overreacting what you intended with what you originally said, but to even entertain a thought like that is just insane to me.
I have no idea why you brough up stream sniping, it has nothing to do with what you wanted to discuss and brings no argument either way.
How did this thread get any actual responses? It’s the most ludicrous notion I’ve read in a long time.
What’s next to discuss? If pen+paper is cheating? Being smarter than the opponent is cheating? Having played more games is cheating? Studying the meta is cheating? Spending money is cheating?
They all give an advantage, but are readily available to anyone who cares enough to use them.
Again, technically speaking, thinking about the game is also cheating according to the EULA, as it is a method that may provide you an advantage over another player. Now anyone with a sane mind can see that it would be ridiculous to not allow thinking. The gray area, which I do think exists, is caused by this extremely wide definition of cheating in the EULA versus the rationale of players and spectators alike. Does that mean that either of them are wrong? No, not really. Blizzard has to define cheating as broadly as possible, so they can act upon any form of cheating without being confronted by their own EULA. On the other side, there are things that we don't consider cheating but the EULA does. As long as Blizzard doesn't act upon those, what's the problem? I feel like a lot of people agree that talking about the game is not considered cheating, and Blizzard tolerates this.
My own opinion on this is that I can imagine it could feel wrong or unfair that people are playing as a team, but there is no realistic way in which this could be prevented and I believe the advantage of playing together is too minor. And you know, you probably have beaten people working together as well, doesn't that balance out in the end?
I don't even think it's a grey area. Should HS coaching be disallowed? What if you're in a room with a friend IRL? Where does it stop?
Regardless of the fact that it isn't a thing that can be policed, it's unnecessary.
kibler hates co-op streams as much as genb and baku

Is paying money for coaching that has been advertised on official hearthstone streams cheating?

BOW DOWN BEFORE THE GOD OF DEATH
If litteraly installing 3rd party programs that automate functions for you in the game like deck tracker is not cheating then i doubt this is either.
